generally, artists are very bad at being technical
art class last year was diabolical
people including me just threw pencils the whole lesson
like damn bruh
that was fun
so to get animations (artistic) into the game (technical), there needs to be someone in the middle
seem pretty technical to me
yes, which you'd hopefully expect as a programmer....
I'm making a fighting game. The animator creates a 3 hit combo. We need to chop that up into 5 different animation files for gameplay purposes
I make it easy for the animator to do this with the click of a single button
it's all python
do you guys make it on a platform or its a complete third party software
we use Autodesk Maya for our art and animations
and the game is made with Unity
I built the pipeline for how we get our game assets from Maya into Unity
I also built the pipeline for how we develop our characters in Maya
So if we create a similar character and need to share animations between characters, I make it possible
you can see the game in my profile ๐
do you have OBS open?
ah
streamer mode hides names/profiles
combo devils
sounds cool
well this is a cool game
i saw the youtube
so all of these people work for th egame
damn thi is a big company
this is still just a side project, we're a group of friends making a game together. A lot of the people in those picture are fans though that have come out to our events
I work a day job at another studio ๐
