@feral horizon for reference, when something violates rules, forward it to modmail. pinging mods and creating a scene doesn't really help anyone and just ends up causing more work.

in this case someone had already used the rules command, there was no guarantee the user was going to keep asking, it just turns the whole thing into something way bigger than it needs to be.

mods automatically get a message when someone uses !rule, if we feel extra action is needed we can do that, we always recommend modmail over a moderators ping as it stops things escalating in-channel.
