I am building a native module using scikit;

build-backend = "scikit_build_core.build"
[tool.scikit-build.sdist]
include = [ "README.md" ]
[tool.scikit-build]
cmake.args=[
    "--no-warn-unused-cli",
    "-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release",
    "-DPYTHON_MODULE=ON",
    "-DMACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=10.15",
]

The wheel is fine, but the created tar.gz file contains every file in my project directory, including untracked and ignored files. include, exclude or MANIFEST.in files does not have any noticeable effect.

Python v3.13, scikit_build_core v0.11.4

Remember to:

  • Ask your Python question, not if you can ask or if there's an expert who can help.
  • Show a code sample as text (rather than a screenshot) and the error message, if you've got one.
  • Explain what you expect to happen and what actually happens.

:warning: Do not pip install anything that isn't related to your question, especially if asked to over DMs.
