Hello I wanted to answer my help request yesterday but the thread was closed.

I tried also with uv but same thing happen, vscode does not seem to do anything. If I do uv run myfile.py it runs fine but when I try to run it through vscode no luck.

There are no logs from vscode

It really does not want to run

You need to show screen shots of your VS Code OUTPUT panel with Python selected from the list, so others can know "no logs" is true.

So there is one line of logs from the Python window:

So you are not using VS Code but Cursor? That's totally a different thing.

VS Code is a Microsoft brand, so only when you install from a Microsoft installer then you can say you are using VS Code. All its variants are not legit to call themselves that name, and they cannot run VS Code exclusive extensions either.

You will have to wait for someone with Cursor experience to guide you.

Must be an issue with cursor

It searches the debugger in a non-existing location even though I installed the debugger extension

solved! I needed to add "type": "debugpy" to the launch configuration and maybe install it in my virtual env, now it works
