So I hear mixed things about RealPython.com. Is it as valuable as it claims to be? Could you please give me an in depth review of it? Can it get me the required skills to be a professional at coding:

  1. web development
  2. writing web bots, web scrapers, web crawlers, and web automation
  3. ML/AI

I want to build the following websites first:

  1. a business website for my dad's law firm
  2. a blog/resume website to show off my IT projects and programming projects as I work on them
  3. a shopping website for my mom's friend's online business

Then, I want to learn to write web bots, web scrapers, web crawlers, web automation, etc.

I also want to be a freelance Python developer and be able to have a portfolio of projects in web development, AI/ML, etc, to show to an employer.

I do also want to be able to code OSINT and pentesting tools in Python and know network and other task automation as well. Network programming would be a good one to know.

Remember to:

  • Ask your Python question, not if you can ask or if there's an expert who can help.
  • Show a code sample as text (rather than a screenshot) and the error message, if you've got one.
  • Explain what you expect to happen and what actually happens.

:warning: Do not pip install anything that isn't related to your question, especially if asked to over DMs.

Yes, it's a decent resource.

just know that networking and security is two huge subjects on their own

#

at least if you are going to do them properly, especially on the defending side (blue team) or just doing secure coding, as one slip up on your end is enough for the attackers (red team) to prevail

ok I'm gonna just start with Django Girls since I did a 30 Days of Python course already and know basic Python. I'm gonna try to stick to free material where possible but I'll just ask in this Discord about recommendations for future resources. I'm only planning on building like in total three websites, maybe four before I move onto starting to build web bots, web automation, web scrapers, etc. But I'll ask about that once I have built the three websites.
