Remember to:
- Ask your Python question, not if you can ask or if there's an expert who can help.
- Show a code sample as text (rather than a screenshot) and the error message, if you've got one.
- Explain what you expect to happen and what actually happens.

!rule ad
ad: a notice or announcement in a public medium promoting a product, service, or event or publicizing a job vacancy.
The rule covers all advertising (which has a wider definition), not just "ad", it was just a shorthand to call the command
ad is short for advertisement
they have the same definition
Advertising!=advertisement
advertising is the verb for an advertisement??????????????????????
And book(ing) is a verb for a book, doesn't mean they mean the same thing.
In my example the verb covers only entering data into some books, it's narrower. Meanwhile in case of advertising vs ad, the verb covers wider set of actions, while ad refers only to commercial acts of advertising.
Anyways:
Non-commercial advertising including recruiting and self-promotion are covered by this rule. For commercial advertising, we actually have a separate rule here. (They used to be the same rule, but people don't read, so the rules got separated and shortened... I didn't think the shortening would have people argue dictionary definitions ๐คฆ)
theres no self promotion, I am recruiting for help as is every single person posting a help thread. booking is obviously not the verb for book if booking doesn't have anything to do with a book.
At least check your sources if you want to argue
"to book" has a lot to do with "a book", as I said it is about entering data into one specific type of a book (used to be noting down anything, the evolved to specifically reserving things, which without computers was actually done using a book).
And I specifically mentioned that recruitment is also covered by this rule, not only self-promotion. So you just proved what I said about people not reading the original long rule. ๐คท
Seems kinda insane to get some guy to translate a HFT script considering the risks of them doing it wrong lmao
booking: an act of reserving accommodations, travel, etc., or of buying a ticket in advance. where does that say book. ducking is not the verb for duck bro
i addressed the recruitment too
thats why you backtest it and dont pay them
pls tell me where it says that
Yeah, you admitted it's a recruitment. Please show me where any of the help threads recruits anyone for anything. Any such thread gets thrown rule 6 just like yours
dm me the script, im curious
๐คฆ
That's one of the definitions.
If you don't read my messages, maybe at least read Wikipedia?
To write down, to register or record in a book or as in a book.
if you post a thread you are implying that you need help considering its under, "Python-help". When people are posting on it they are obviously wanting help. The only way to get that help is to RECRUIT people to HELP you.
wiki for definitions is crazy
This is Wiktionary, Wikipedia-owned dictionary, with actual sources and whole etymology that also shows it comes from the noun book ๐คท
words come from societies modern interpretation of it not from etymology and archaic interpretation we haven't used in hundreds of years
As explained, this isn't what python-help is about. It's not a "help wanted", it's for asking questions about Python and getting coding assistance.
I appreciate your problem tho, and if you're interested in learning Python, we can certainly get you in the right direction and answer questions/etc.
and it's that serious? I understand the issue with paid advertising and other sorts, but what is the issue if worst case scenario someone isn't willing to help. You guys need to work on the way you word things, man to person. once again, every single person posting in this wants help. I understand what you are saying but until you say other things that doesn't make sense, and that is why it wasn't understood when Nicky said it. I obviously was not clear enough either, as I did use the word "willing to HELP translate", it was obviously not understood that I don't want someone to directly translate it for me, I would like someone to actually go through it and help me learn, because I don't plan on outsourcing the work and would like to learn how to myself. Thanks for giving me a great interaction with such an amazing community.
