Remember to:
- Ask your Python question, not if you can ask or if there's an expert who can help.
- Show a code sample as text (rather than a screenshot) and the error message, if you've got one.
- Explain what you expect to happen and what actually happens.
:warning: Do not pip install anything that isn't related to your question, especially if asked to over DMs.
If is a straight up test. If/elif/… is a choice amongst alternatives, in a priority order if that’s relevant. Else is for anything not chosen
would it be viable to only use else and if
Yes but a chain of choices starts getting very indented
Got an if/else etc example you're unhappy with?
Sure, it'sviable, but if you try to do it, you'll probably run into problems at some point. That's because it's important to understand the function of elif. It's basically saying "ok, if the condition above me wasn't true, and this condition is true, do that"
You don't have to use else either. But it makes coding easier.
