Remember to:
- Ask your Python question, not if you can ask or if there's an expert who can help.
- Show a code sample as text (rather than a screenshot) and the error message, if you've got one.
- Explain what you expect to happen and what actually happens.
:warning: Do not pip install anything that isn't related to your question, especially if asked to over DMs.
heres the link of the code https://paste.pythondiscord.com/JRMQ
is this a chatgpt code
I am using it since i am learning
i think it is a chatgpt code
I know its probably depressing to look at :x
what are you even trying to do
i am trying to make 2 Cycles with multiple steps. 1 Main cycle and 1 Boss handling cycle. So when i start the script i want the main cycle to do the steps and if boss.png is ever detected throught then it would stop everything and perform the Boss handling cycle before returning back to step 1 of Main cycle and just Loop the whole thing
I managed to make the Main cycle work but I can't seem to make it so that whenever it detects the boss.png to stop everything and jump into a different cycle.
Most of the time it just ignores the image that comes up and keeps going with the Steps.
just a heads up: a good rule of thumb when coding is to never use AI tools
its trained on all code it can find and 98% of that code is shit broken code so your AI is gonna spew out dogshit when you ask it for a request
Or least least not when you're learning, since you can't easily validate the output.
I see :/ im just trying to start somewhere
and its very hard when you have absolutely no idea on what you are doing
Relying on AI to do the hard work for you won't help you overcome that hurdle though.
yeah never use it unless youβre comfortable with the task at hand already that you can optimise writing little parts of the project
True, I should just learn from scratch at this point. Im just unsure whats the limit when coding with python
so mainly just to shortcut, without relying on it too much and being able to actually read the codes that it provides you
If you mean what your limit is, aim slightly harder than you think you can do. My goal when I was learning was to always do projects that seemed slightly harder than I thought I'd be able to manage.
That way, you still learn, and if you fail, you likely still wrote usable code to build off of and learn from.
Aiming too hard makes you feel overwhelmed, and aiming too low prevents you from learning in the long run.
i understand and do you think its doable what im looking to create?
Well, it's definitely doable eventually. I'll admit, I don't encourage new programmers to work on UIs initially. UIs introduce a lot of complexity, like asynchronous programming. I think basic, non-UI projects allow you to make more progress in the beginning since they allow you to focus on the basics.
pythons only limit is speed and thats for expensive computational tasks. this definitely isnt one of those instances
undertstood π thanks a lot for the help guys. Might not be what i wanted to hear but It's definetly something much better than the answer that i was seeking for
ill try and take a step back and find couple guides here and there, I really want a working UI but a smooth one, not this old cranky one that the AI made for me haha π
Yes, sometimes you need to put your ego aside and work on easier stuff (or at least, that's how I think of it). I just ran into a similar situation while attempting to learn Rust too quickly.
i see ;/ thanks again guys! really do appreciate it
You're welcome.
