just to clarify:

  • i have attempted uninstall of python but resulted in the same error, and therefore had to resort to using a third-party uninstaller to fully uninstall it.

  • after said uninstallation process, doing py in cmd/terminal/powershell does the error 'Unable to create process using 'C:\Users\rinod\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python311\python.exe': The system cannot find the file specified.'

  • i have checked the path of both the system and environmental variables and ensured that not a single python path is in there.

what i expect to see is the installation going through fine(and even if it didn't, at the very least cmd not knowing what the py command is.)

When you previously uninstalled Python, before you resorted to the third-party software, did you manually delete anything?

I don't remember how it's listed in Windows. Can you just look for "py" in Add/Remove programs. IIRC there's usually a separate entry for the Py Launcher.

Ok. I'm looking through the history on this server to see how other people have solved it. Typically you modify/repair the installation but in your case you've already removed it. Perhaps there is another way. I just did a quick search through the message history on this server to see how other people approached it but didn't really find anything yet - I'd suggest asking in #python-discussion and pointing them to this thread.

but i got confused because it also gave me the option to select and delete the eseential registry folders
