I'm using pycharm and my program only creates a turtle screen in the hotbar. If I tab out to the desktop and try to open it, it crashes with a "Not responding" error message.

Remember to:

  • Ask your Python question, not if you can ask or if there's an expert who can help.
  • Show a code sample as text (rather than a screenshot) and the error message, if you've got one.
  • Explain what you expect to happen and what actually happens.

:warning: Do not pip install anything that isn't related to your question, especially if asked to over DMs.

add turtle.mainloop() at the end of the main function

How are you running it in PyCharm? As run or as debug? Or something else?

#

Oh, I see now
You did the sleep
Never do the sleep.
System will see the main thread of the window is busy and not reacting. Do the mainloop thing instead of the sleep! It runs the loop that correctly handles the window events

try this method instead

also I don't know if this helps but here's a picture of a turtle sleeping (not delaying)
