🔒 Hello, need help understanding if statements. trying to do homework.

The professors lectures dont help to explain certain concepts for me but i cant get the program to end if the else occurs, thanks in advance

The else section will run, then it will continue to the next print() statement. You need to put “sys.exit(1)” in the else to exit the program.

the most straight forward way to do that is exit()

oh ok so the code says if Yes then it would keep going but if No then it needs to end. if the yes is selected will it continue to go after the exit()?

if you weren't taught that, what the prof expected is probably something like

if response == 'Y':
    print('Cool!, here are some magazines for sale')
    ...
    # put all the other logic in here
    # including the asking for money, etc
else:
    print('have a nice day!')

something like

if user_input == 'No':
    exit()
# else:   # <-- you don't need the else, as if the condition was true, the program would've ended anyway
... # continue writing your code
