The problem you have is that if db_pool.get_conn() raises an exception, conn is never assigned to so your finally clause will not work

Your options are to move get_conn() call higher outside the try-except-finally, or rework the finally block

yea i understand all of that, but there is not a single way to get around it somehow? just standart logical stuff
