i want my bot reply to have a cool down, for example, lets say i type in the server

my bot will reply to that message with "hello" and it will do that every time i type, but to avoid spam, i want a cool down

for example, if i type "hello" 5 times within 2 seconds, it will only respond once and wont respond til i type again in 5 seconds

then you can use sleep()

it kills every process and stops it running

Add a status to the bot alive and sleep True or False or whatever, when a succesful call is made to the bot change it's status to sleep, start a thread that waits for 5 seconds and when it's done change it's status to alive again and just in your method to receive messages discard any message if the status is asleep
