🔒 Is it conventional to execute demo / main files from root directory?

/your_directory
your_python_file.py
/modules
init.py
class1.py
class2.py
I have a project structure similar to this and I've been using hardcoded sys.path modifications to execute main.py python main.py and execute your_python_file.py python your_directory\your_python_file.py from the project root directory. Is this the done thing or is there a convention to this? If there is, can someone tell me? If I change this around, I'll need to change me imports again!
