Situation 1: I am getting into a project as a SRE manager and it deals with millions of data for ETL analytics. They run on EMR/Redshift and developers are in Gitlab. System is built on pyspark, microservices,AWS step functions,Lambda(python code) for interactions between S3 and Redshift. There are already engineers who are in this SRE team and they have better AWS knowledge than me.
Situation 2: my knowledge in AWS is very limited to multi tier architecture project with Ec2 ,VPC, Terraform projects that we have done, EKS projects with grafana, Prometheus. But this project is predominantly on ETL data analytics for which I have no practical experience
Situation 3: This SRE team planning to use AppDynamics for observability and AWS quick sight for effectively monitoring EMR JOBS. Currently monitoring the EMR JOBS manually using Excel sheet. Basically I have no experience on Quicksight and AppDynamics
Task 1: As a sre manager i have to come up with key performance indicators for this team i.e SLA for jobs , Availability SLA etc.,
Task 2: I have to establish AWS incident manager to send automated sms if there is a EMR job failure to development and establish priority based incident communication etc.,
Task 3: I have to provide observability monitoring metrics using AppDynamics and I also have to get the team automating manual tasks using Python ( Note: I only have basic knowledge)
Task 4: I have to provide the cost optimization inputs to the development team and also capacity and performance as well
Action: I am leaving this open for suggestions and mentorship so I can keep moving on the direction

I come from C background , it is helpful to learn C with low-level hardware system
not like linux kernel , that is complex, maybe start with RTOS and play with dev board like Auduino or Raspberry PI, you may feel a bit more fun
yea pre-compile to python bytecode , some of the bytecode can be converted to native machine code

other package resolvers generally add a layer on top of pip to accommodate platform tags and constrain in a smarter fashion. that's what pex does for instance.
