When checking if something is equal to one thing or another, you might think that this is possible:
# Incorrect...
if favorite_fruit == 'grapefruit' or 'lemon':
print("That's a weird favorite fruit to have.")
While this makes sense in English, it may not behave the way you would expect. In Python, you should have complete instructions on both sides of the logical operator.
So, if you want to check if something is equal to one thing or another, there are two common ways:
# Like this...
if favorite_fruit == 'grapefruit' or favorite_fruit == 'lemon':
print("That's a weird favorite fruit to have.")
# ...or like this.
if favorite_fruit in ('grapefruit', 'lemon'):
print("That's a weird favorite fruit to have.")

@hardy leaf does it not look like that?
this is caused by \u2061, an invisible character sometimes added to stuff you copy from discord
Yep, but when i print it in terminal just as the code it comes out like $$P_{KN}(w_i|w_{i-2},w_{i-1})= rac{max(C(w_{i-2},w_{i-1},w_i)-d,0)}{C(w_{i-2},w_{i-1})}+\lambda(w_{i-2},w_{i-1})P_{KN}(w_i|w_{i-1})$$
with the f missing
So in terminal it should instead look like py $$P_{KN}(w_i|w_{i-2},w_{i-1})= /frac{max(C(w_{i-2},w_{i-1},w_i)-d,0)}{C(w_{i-2},w_{i-1})}+\lambda(w_{i-2},w_{i-1})P_{KN}(w_i|w_{i-1})$$
that sounds like it might be treating the \ as an escape slash. is the problem fixed if you double the slashes (and for lambda too), like \\frac and \\lambda ?
The \lambda shows okay in terminal
its just the \f
to be fair, the slash is intended to be an escape slash, but not by the terminal - but the latex parser
but just checked and \f doesnt work
is there anyway i can get round this?
i suspect it's because \f is a valid escape character, apparently being similar to \n, and \l is not
did the doubling of slashes do anything?
no it didnt

Spike is studying spreading spores graphs. A spreading spores graph represents an undirected graph where each node has a float amount (possibly negative or fractional) of spores in it. At each step in time, all the initial spores in a node disappear, but not before spreading an equal amount of spores to each adjacent node. For example, in the following graph:
(1) a (0) b (2) c (2)
/ \ -> / \ -> / \ -> / \
(0)-(0) (1)-(1) (1)-(1) (3)-(3)
Step a: the top node spreads1spore to its adjacent nodes, and then the initial1spore in the top node disappears (or equivalently is subtracted from its total)Step b: the bottom two nodes spread1+1=2spores the top node, and1spore to eachother... continue reading

Write a function that determines if the provided sequence of non-negative integers can be represented by a simple graph. A simple graph is a graph without any loops (a vertex with an edge linking back to itself) and without multiple edges between any two vertices. The degree of a vertex is the number of edges adjacent to it. A sequence of non-negative integers can be represented by a simple graph if there is at least one simple graph with such a sequence of vertex degrees.
For example, a sequence of vertices with degrees [2, 3, 3, 1, 2, 2, 3] might be represented by the following simple graph:
