Generally, feature development should be done on mainline Linux and not on Android common kernels. Upstream development is strongly encouraged, and after development is accepted there, it can be backported to the specific ACK branch as needed. The Android Kernel Team is happy to support upstreaming efforts for the benefit of the Android ecosystem.

@worldly ice #python-discussion message
i have done some mathematics
firstly, the group of orientations of a cube is isomorphic to S4 (to see this, identify opposite corners and fix a face, then rotating the cube is equivalent to permuting the corners of that face)
if you identify each orientation with a number 0 - 24, supposing we want to write the 3 rotations as ax + b mod 24 for some constants a,b for each rotation, it suffices to look at r, s satisfying r^2 = s^4 = (rs)^3 = e (and that r != e, s != e, s^2 != e, etc.) since that defines S4
if you sit down and work through the modular arithmetic for that, you'll find that no combination of s = ax+b and r = cx+d can satisfy all three equations simultaneously (you'll find you need ac = 1, and since everything invertible has order 2 in Z24 you have a = c, and then you can't get bc + d = 0 mod 8)
tl;dr: you'll definitely need to use floor division or something somewhere, just addition/multiplication modulo 24 won't cut it

#

A major source of vulnerabilities in our digital infrastructure stems from code written in languages like C and C++, which are vulnerable to exploits targeting computer memory. Estimates show that around 70% of vulnerabilities in these codebases stem from memory exploits. But AI could cheaply translate code from memory-unsafe to memory-safe languages, eliminating entire classes of vulnerabilities while modernizing legacy codebases.
