Well I got to remember you're what fourteen? don't worry too much about the grind, when I was your age I think I was just depressed and reading stuff on my phone a lot.

You don't have to feel like this, you can program for four hours and just stop do something else, you'll still be on a good track that way.

Think about cool things you're thankful for like your family and your dog to keep your mental going

@tranquil orchid am I right or wrong about being picky of who teaches me something? I prefer teachers who are passionate about what they are teaching/explaining compared to the ones that do it unethusastic for a paycheck

#

I feel like I can't learn anything when a lazy teacher teaches (my time in middle school with different history/science/math teachers)

#

I learned better when it was someone who actually understands what needs to be taught over reading explanations from a school issued book

low chasm
#

it's fair to prefer teachers who might end up putting more effort into the teaching, I really liked my math teacher last year - guy was actually into the math, gave us additional fun facts and whatever, made the lessons much nicer to listen to

@stone zealot What reason do they have for allowing root login? Generally that's something you don't want to do unless you really need to

elfin holly
#

whats bad in root login?

stone zealot
#

idk like its like a course on udumey so instead of downloading kali directly instructor suggest to download the customised version and root login

#

is it like creating a adminstrator or smthg?

#

idk anything about linux tbh

stone zealot
empty prism
# elfin holly whats bad in root login?

(I see the above, but I'll answer the original question for posterity)

Generally because it has a known username and unlimited access to your computer. If someone were to try and get into your system, root is the first thing they'll try. Otherwise they have to guess your username and password, which is more work. With your own user, you also get access to the auth log for your user, and if you really need root powers, you can add yourself to the sudoers group at setup

It really depends on the size of your dev team. A very small company/studio with like 4 devs might do all the QA themselves, or outsource QA to another company on a part-time basis. As you get bigger, you start splitting that work into multiple sub-teams, like QA and devops.

Generally, it's a good idea to get a fresh pair of eyes on whatever you make, and other devs may not have the time to review both your code and the behavior of the application thoroughly. A QA's whole job is to check the behavior of the application, so they can really dive into different scenarios that a real user might go through. They also have a more holistic view of the app and might know what other areas tend to see issues when certain things are changed

ionic moth
#

makes very much sense

The consistencies are that two humans met, they were compatible and both worked together to pursue a long term relationship with shared goals.

The problem with you trying to break this down is that humans have many endpoints. Human A and B may have gone well together because Human A was attracted to slim blondes without much independence and ambition and happy to finance their lifestyle and human B wanted to concentrate on keeping her beauty and being paraded as a goddess and spend her days in malls and brunches with friends.

I couldn't work with Human B and Human A wouldn't work with my fiancee.

Breaking down human relationships in such a manenr is an incredibly complex goal and would probably drive you to insanity or an incell form before long.

If you're looking for a technical guide to forming a relationship in this day and age I'd say these are the steps:

  1. Download Hinge, Bumble, Tinder create a profile that accurately* represents yourself at your best. Start talking to people, try to form connections.

*If you're arrogant, crass etc, thats fine IMO. Sure there will be less people that connect with you, but your not looking to connect with hundrads of people for the sake of it, just people you're compatible with. Make it accurate.

  1. Once you form a connection and have been talking for some time meet in real life, again just be yourself. You don't want to put on a facade, because it will be painful to keep it up and once it falls the relationship will too. You want someone who likes you for yourself, your flaws and all.

  2. You're dating, have fun. If its not fun stop dating, return to step 1. If its fun ask her to be your gf.

  3. You're in a relationship, have fun. If its not fun talk to each other, try to work things out, if you cant, break up, return to step 1 (maybe take some time off). If it is and you both want to move things forward and its been a reasonable amount of time ask her to marry you.

  4. You're married, have fun, have kids, die holding eachothers hands.

i have decided to forgive localhost for all the pain it has caused me

glossy niche
#

but you cant cURL it

#

if you want to curl it

#

add it to the hosts file, i recommend the hosts editor that comes with powertoys, neat lil tool

#

with it you can curl app.localhost just fine and it redirects to localhost

#

the neat part about this is: cookies need at least one dot in the domain name to be saved, so you can save cookies for localhost with this

paper sequoia
#

I see, now I might be able to add subdomains in that way to api that is run locally, might need some work but nice

glossy niche
#

so if you want to do, app1.sub.localhost and app2.sub.localhost, you can save cookies to sub.localhost and access it from both

#

this saved me so much time actually running things locally

paper sequoia
#

Aren't all 127.x.x.x domains localhost?

glossy niche
#

localhost is just a DNS thingie that takes you to 127.0.0.1

#

its pretty complex ngl, i dont understand it well

#

and on linux you have this thing called systemd-resolved that automatically maps all *.localhost to 127.................

paper sequoia
#

So I could maybe run 127.0.0.1 and .2 for different API at different subdomains I guess

glossy niche
#

and there are still programs that bypass all that and simply do not work with localhost, like mongodb for somereason

glossy niche
#

app1 saves a cookie to the parent domain and app2 reads it

paper sequoia
glossy niche
#

the best part about it is that it took almost no set up to get done, i just changed the .env files a bit to point all apps to app.localhost, no code or OS changes

#

as opposed to the standard workflow at my company, which had 2 pages worth of documentation just to get this damn cookie to work

paper sequoia
#

Will the subdomain stuff work nicely with ssl configured for localhost?
