I enjoyed working as a Medic, I had to drop it because AMR is one of the only two organizations in my county that retains Medics (the other being fire) and job competition is wicked hard for the fire slots as a result.

A.) I think working in the ER is very good experience in general, especially if you're working within a trauma center or you're at a busier hospital in general.
B.) I honestly don't know how they're being utilized, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were offsetting the nurse shortage here in more specialized scenarios.
That work isn't necessarily above a Medic, we have a larger scope of practice, so it can be a good environment to utilize skills we may get very limited experience with otherwise.
Oh 100%, ER is good experience -- I've just not met a ton of paramedics who would drop their scope down to that of a basics.
I don't think it's a reduction of scope; you're afforded more opportunities in that environment as a Medic.
Your scope as an EMT-B or A in ER isn't as wide because it's not supposed to be.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm not as intimately familiar with the details to glean on what their actual scope of practice is, just that we have a regional nurse shortage, and that anecdotally I recall another medic having a pretty broad scope within the TC.
I wouldn't be surprised considering you said midwest -- I know the nursing unions aren't as strong out there as they are on the coasts.
That could be a direct result of the policy here though, which is already pretty broad and allows for a lot of leeway in treating prehospital.

This is a shitty answer but I don't actually know anymore. The flight med service was propped up pretty substantially since I left (It's been about 9 years since I was back in my hometown). When I was originally working and not just maintaining my cert, yes-- medics could RSI.

Like most people are good at staying competent at shit, but I dunno. I feel like when you're taking somebody's airway, you should probably invest a little more time in making sure you're able to do that above the norm for your training.
High risk procedures should get practiced more, period.
Trying to find the minimum number of intubations practiced per year for my county right now but the page is not super helpful.
Like I said, that's a departmental standard-- your department establishes the interval they're comfortable with you practicing in. I wouldn't lose sleep at night over that-- if the training standards dictate that I'm qualified to that minimal level and I cannot perform in the field, that's embarrassing organizationally but more or less indicative of shitty departmental standards.

That would subsequently require additional pay, in reality. If the expectation is for you to be able to reliably perform difficult intubations (Which, don't misunderstand me, you should be able to do) then the training needs to support that level of qualification, and the pay needs to back up the continual training you're receiving.

Ultimately these are the same classes I sat through in the training program, just sans the fluff that's required to fill out the AAS.
I'm actually fairly confident most of my Gen Ed's for science in my current degree program are derived from course credit in my certification program.
But I've suffered from a crisis of identity, so I'm not really sure what my actual full unabridged transcript looks like anymore or where credits are coming and going.
Also, just to make sure I'm representing myself more holistically, I was certified and worked for AMR, for about 11 months-- before it struck me as not really worth it pay wise to continue down that path. I joined the military and they paid for CEU's, but I eventually left the US and that was no longer practical. There are certainly people with a more comprehensive background-- and frankly, I'm not sure I'd say 11 months is enough to hold a qualified opinion.
I wasn't a Medic as my primary job, it just happened to be that the military was willing to pay to maintain that capability.
I did some medical instruction (TCCC and CPR) and facilitated some unit programs with the medical group, but that was about it.
Ironically, the CPR and another program (SABC, self-aid/buddy care) were extremely basic in their content but were the justification for me maintaining my cert for so long lol
TCCC-ASM is a snooze fest. TCCC-CLS is pretty cool. I took -MP but it was taught by Pararescue personnel who know infinitely more about the subject than I could ever even try to comprehend.

You're preventing a massive bleed by occluding an aorta. That is going to increase blood pressure. But it's in the primary pursuit of stopping the bleed, increased perfusion in general is going to be a consequence of your actions.

Like in the most basic sense, applying a TQ for a bleed will increase blood pressure and perfusion, but you're applying the TQ to stop the bleed.

You may have noticed that when doing arithmetic with floats in Python you sometimes get strange results, like this:

Why this happens
Internally your computer stores floats as binary fractions. Many decimal values cannot be stored as exact binary fractions, which means an approximation has to be used.
How you can avoid this
You can use math.isclose to check if two floats are close, or to get an exact decimal representation, you can use the decimal or fractions module. Here are some examples:
>>> math.isclose(0.1 + 0.2, 0.3)
True
>>> decimal.Decimal('0.1') + decimal.Decimal('0.2')
Decimal('0.3')
Note that with decimal.Decimal we enter the number we want as a string so we don't pass on the imprecision from the float.
