They sail container ships. Like the S.S. Kubernetes
lmao
im css is VERY bad
this is the best css i have ever done
😂
nope, now you use longs and shorts
you use flexbox or grid >w>
or does everyone just use the number type now
in css i meant
eh, fuck css
Last time I tried to do front end I ended up with a meterstick inside my screen
grids are hard af
let the people who are masochistic enough handle the front-end. I'll stick to the part of programming that actually follows a logical set of rules that can be learned by a reasonable person in a reasonable amount of time.
its alot of new words and a new unit type but except for that how it works is actually quite simple
i recommend watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg7Fvvl3taU
CSS will never be simple. Until we find a way to center a fucking div, it will never be usable.
yeets caliper across the room
see designing is one thing, implementing is another
im bad at both
thus i use templates
well just wait till we get official support for nesting and container queries
😄 that'd be fun
it should happen sometime this year (for chrome atleast... firefox too probably but safari probably will take a while cuz its shit)
i can't wait to write css so nested it goes over 9000 characters
css is the hardest language ever
and no one fully knows it
credits to visual basic
I need to touch grass
well i think i know most of the useful part of css
there's some stuff noone ever will use except for some codepens to make really crazy stuff with css only
ye
that kevin dude, hes a true master at css
im pretty sure he onlu posts css content
he's a bit slow tho o- o i've beat him at every single css battle he's done so far
you do css battles?
not like actually but he does css battle videos and my times for the same things are faster
i have talked to him in text chat however unfortunately neither him not me have the css battle paid thing you need to create custom battles
it just makes the app more complex, just make better code

Jesus do monitors just not come with spots to mount them anymore?
I've checked 3 monitors and none of them do
monitor lizards?
you really need a subscription to play with friends?
yes
you can however just both do the same challange and compare times
that's also what he does in his videos xD so i just did the same challange and compared times with him
and i was mostly faster
except for 1 i think where i forgot how to make triangles in css :x
have to bounce. have a huge pile of recycleables that past me decided to make future me's problem
you mean vesa? monitors nowadays don't usally have vesa(slim monitors) nor a speaker
i mean how is that useful in real life
you would just use a svg
Yeah I'm having to play musical chairs with some monitors
dos-to-yev-sky
well yes but if its just a small plain color traingle in the background you could use it but generally the point is just to get more knowledge about how you can manipulate elements in different ways using css
One of ours gave up the ghost so I'm having to take one from another office and move it into there (the one that needs the mount point because of a standing desk setup), one of mine and putting it in the other office, then a new one for me.
Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair.
Just fucking
Keep standards, folks
It's not hard
Okay, I'm good now
Back to monitor hopping
Cheap ones, no
Not even cheap ones.
Like we bought (for some reason) decent gaming monitors
I'm guessing they were on sale otherwise we wouldn't have gotten them
I do not understand how my boss manages to find such absurd deals on these damn things
I was on the job market recently, open to suggestions on what I should do next. I’m deeply thankful to all those who reached out and pitched their companies, and also to people who shared their wisdom of how they wanted to navigate their own careers.

it represents the mindset of how people in eg google brain are thinking
these 3 papers together make the case that this foundation model I described is possible to build

can 3v motors produce good enough torque with gear boxes to get a 2.5kg lift ?
ye lol... bcz i got a project to do involving that. (can't decide on a motor or the project)
yes
any motor can produce enough torque to lift an infinite weight assuming you can use an infinitely large gear ratio to lift it infinitely slowly
the bigger the gear ratio, the heavier a weight it can lift, and the slower it will move
first find out the torque on your motor
then you can use a simple ratio
a 5:1 gear ratio will make your output torque 5 times as great as your input torque
but also make it move 5 times as slowly
(ignoring friction)
welp it looks like it restricts permission

!f-strings
Creating a Python string with your variables using the + operator can be difficult to write and read. F-strings (format-strings) make it easy to insert values into a string. If you put an f in front of the first quote, you can then put Python expressions between curly braces in the string.
>>> snake = "pythons"
>>> number = 21
>>> f"There are {number * 2} {snake} on the plane."
"There are 42 pythons on the plane."
Note that even when you include an expression that isn't a string, like number * 2, Python will convert it to a string for you.
fstrings are the best kind of strings
bacon = "pork"
print("I love " + bacon + " for breakfast.")
print(f"I love {bacon} for breakfast.")
template = "I love {} for breakfast."
print(template.format(bacon))

@rustic coral you see in a case like this our algorithm fails
ya it fails
do you have other ideas?
yes i have other one what we can do is use recursion and calculate sum for every possible path
in this case we return from a path when its x,y = (len(mat),len(mat))
the matrix is 80*80
and then check the value comming from all four direction and return the minumum
it works
but it will be slow
ya
So noted.

This module constructs higher-level threading interfaces on top of the lower level _thread module. See also the queue module.
Changed in version 3.7: This module used to be optional, it is now always available.
Note
In the Python 2.x series, this module contained camelCase names for some methods and functions. These are deprecated as of Python 3.10, but they are still supported for compatibility with Python 2.5 and lower.

I'm sorry to hear you're sick

you dont know what is on all your pins, what a shame XD
Still sorry. Good to see you at least
Can you link extractor?
Haven't heard of that
not it is used to extract text from a webpage
Okay but is it a library or something?
an api
And what's the site you're trying to do this on?
Extract clean text from thousands of articles with a simple API request or use our visual web tool - we'll handle IP rotation, retries and everything else.
i am trying to use it to get prices from amazon
When you're just doing requests and urllib, are you going through Amazon's API?
i want to use request or urllib modulle on python instead of extractor api as extractor api is slow
i can not use amazon api
Why's that?
Hello everyone, I'm new to this language and this server, joined as a associate data scientist recently.
NaaS(TM)
because it i need to make the amazon web page into a xhtml kind of brocher
because it i need to make the amazon web page into a xhtml kind of brocher
Amazon wants you to do it via their API. They actively try to prevent page scraping
That's why it's failing
then how does the extractor api work on its webpage
Reading
Reading through their docs and Terms of Service. Why're you wanting the prices and what not?
it is terribly slow extracting a webpage takes a minute
From what I'm reading, Extractor isn't meant to be used on storefronts such as Amazon. It's for news sites, blogs, press releases, etc. Just because it can do it doesn't necessarily mean it should be doing so
Welcome to the server! Always happy to see new faces
i am just making a amzon text broucher
What does that mean
it is just for personal use
If you're going to be doing anything on Amazon's stuff, you need to use their API
ok i will try using it
at least you must know a minimal of security, that's not a basic ?
God you hope so
hhahah

i am a beginner in coding just started to learn python as my first language any tipss ??
just yt
and there is many lists of projects on the internet
like calculator

and more and more
can someone recommend me a good resources to learn py?
!resources
The Resources page on our website contains a list of hand-selected learning resources that we regularly recommend to both beginners and experts.
what i planned on doing was first to complete the beginners course on yt then try making a website with the help of someone on yt for now i only planned on doing this. Is this a good approach towards learning python or do i need to do something else
We've got a ton of them listed on our site. For text, I usually suggest "A Byte of Python" and "Automate the Boring Stuff". For video, we have a couple channels that are great
nice hearing .... bye see ya all tomorrow
It depends. Are you wanting to focus on web stuff in general?
And is Python your first language
yes python is my first language i just finished my highschool so i havent thought much about it but i want to pursue cs as my major
I'm in love, I just installed copilot 👌
Gotcha gotcha. Then yeah, stick with Python for a bit. If you end up going with data science or machine learning or what have you, typically you're going to encounter Python. It's a good language to get you going
aaah ok ok but im going in the right direction right or am i skipping some steps
You're on a good path from what I can tell. But I do suggest looking at other resources to compare notes. One might mention things that another doesn't and vice versa
aah good point , ya ill surely look into it thankssss
If you end up having any questions about concepts or need something explained, let me know. I'm more than happy to explain that kind of stuff

!d random.shuffle
random.shuffle(x[, random])```
Shuffle the sequence *x* in place.
The optional argument *random* is a 0-argument function returning a random float in [0.0, 1.0); by default, this is the function [`random()`](https://docs.python.org/3/library/random.html#random.random "random.random").
To shuffle an immutable sequence and return a new shuffled list, use `sample(x, k=len(x))` instead.
Note that even for small `len(x)`, the total number of permutations of *x* can quickly grow larger than the period of most random number generators. This implies that most permutations of a long sequence can never be generated. For example, a sequence of length 2080 is the largest that can fit within the period of the Mersenne Twister random number generator.
Deprecated since version 3.9, will be removed in version 3.11: The optional parameter *random*.
