you don't
u need to sudo pip install probably
@rugged root
try python3 -m pip install
what does -m mean
@low basin id recommend virtualenv or anaconda to create an isolated python instance, otherwise you will probs screw up ur python install in really annoying ways
@strong arch your keyboard is is sounding a lot
^
-m means running a module
@strong arch i used to use pycharm with venv but i cant run a project without a venv after i finish it so its a bit annoyinh
It's still suggested to do so
You don't want to and shouldn't install or mess with your system install
i dont mess with python2
It uses both
i wanna join the call but i am still not verified so ican screenshare
my main problem is any library cant be installed
sometimes it works
sometimes doesnt
idk if its a problem because i am using an m1
but it cant m1
compile
also is there anyway to delete all my python versions so i can have a fressh start
i wont delete python2
@low basin https://stackoverflow.com/questions/65559632/how-can-i-run-python-3-9-1-natively-on-m1-mac
the question is why does some libraries compile and others dont
Yep

Hmm, I'm not familiar with using homebrew on M1 macs (as I don't have one myself). I'm just reading up on it.
Check your PATH environment variable. This defines where the shell looks for executables.
Usually /usr/local/bin (essentially executables installed by Homebrew) comes before /usr/bin (built-in executables) in the PATH variable.
So, it will find the Homebrew version of python first.
Is this M1 Mac?
@low basin Can we go back to the beginning? What are you trying to achieve, and what problem are you encountering?

how to do dat
@shadow rain You meet the conditions, you just have to go to #voice-verification and verify
When it gives you the role, you'll need to need to either change channels and come back or disconnect then reconnect. The permissions don't update until you do that
And what do you mean by a mod is going to contact you?
They going to have a conversation with me I thought
Oh for the verification? No you just run a command in that channel
type !voiceverify in that channel
No
then you will get the role automatically
!voiceverify
I did it
No no
You do that in the #voice-verification channel
I got it thanks

@vivid palm Regarding the tables, are the file names the names of the tables? Or is like MTH supposed to be one table broken into 4 parts or whatever
so rmbr how i said there are 2 categories. M is category 1, N is category 2
I should cook but I don't want to leave VC
Roger
So there's 4 tables then? Or is this all going into one
Just making sure I'm understanding
yes i'd like to keep them these names since they match the source's file names
So the .dbf files will always be named mth1.dbf, nth1.dbf etc
typically though i'll have the date in the filenames like 2021-07-09 mth1.dbf
Ah, gotcha
optional tho
bc i always make copies of the original files so i can name them however
Sure sure
Mkay, this'll take me a bit, but I think I know how we can do this. And then we can break it down and I can show you what I did. Or I can step through my thought process now

If you spend a good bunch of time using a terminal in text-mode, wouldn’t it make sense to learn how to program for it too? If you like having control over the stuff you use in your computer, I bet that your answer is a “yes”! They may be not as popular as GUIs, text-mode user interfaces (TUIs) are snappy, practical and fun to work on!

object oriented programming
oh, wow you know how to play backgammon?
well, that too
but this is someone else's set
I'm only doing it because I have a superficial knowledge of bookbinding
and also the tools to do it
like an extremely large pot of glue
1 kg
that's probably how much glue i use in every 2~3 years imao
lol
I've used about a tenth of it on this project
so far
and there's gonna be a lot more
you may as well taste it, im joking
large square porous surfaces take an insane amount of glue
how 'bout sniffing it
I also have a large bottle of superglue
although a lot less large
How much glue do you have?
1 kg of normal glue
1 large bottle of super glue
more than most sane people need
I take after my parents
yeah, that's probably enough glue for like 10 years (for me) lol
that sounded kinda weird lol
displaying my glue in #voice-chat-text-0
downstairs we have 80 kg of unground oats
plus 40 kg of oat flour we've already ground with our mill
we buy in bulk
and get huge discounts?
yes
big brain
we buy our potatoes at 1 cent a kilo
hmm, prices are cheap over there i see
potato
not patato
only 'cuz we buy them at a farmer
they're meant as seed
so we load our entire car full of potatoes
they come in huge bags
oh, then its also probably fresh
they are also extremely muddy
but at least it wouldn't be contaminated with chemicals
although that can be easily remedied
other potatoes are?
in some of the shops, they put chemicals to preserve and stuff
interesting
yeah, that's why buying directly from the farm is a good thing
my standard annoying response
Lol
this was the comment which prompted it

it's PVA
the same stuff they use in wood glue, but stronger
less thinned-down

I just imagined what would happen if I spilled the glue pot on the carpet
now I feel the urgent need to move the pot

r"\b\d{17,18}[0-9]\b"
For example, \b is an assertion that the current position is located at a word boundary; the position isn’t changed by the \b at all. This means that zero-width assertions should never be repeated, because if they match once at a given location, they can obviously be matched an infinite number of times.

Hello
@gloomy vigil While Arch Linux may look easy based on my screenshot, it is in fact not geared for beginners. The install process may have an installer, but i'd recommend to know the basics in the terminal in case things fail as Arch Linux is known to be rolling release and possibly unstable.
My experience though have been quite nice, though i have had a few crashes for applications and maybe one weird bug in wayland.
hmm ok nice : )
