oh hey, that's my company ๐
Wait is that really?
LOL
hah yea, I work for Assa Abloy
(well a child company)
alright imma go finish my course chow!
oh neat, what do you do @cobalt fractal ?
ayt gl
and can you confirm the existence of a gouvernment only abloy lock that normal people cant buy?
product manager for a workforce management tool https://www.biositesystems.com/
Just determined to prove him wrong aren't you
can neither confirm nor deny ๐
i am filled with doubt hemlock
eh, there was a very obvious chance, literally someone who works for the company
You know what, that's a fair point
There's the Abloy exec class of locks, which locksmiths can't buy blanks / cutting machines for
l33t was talking about how he has a military grade lock that you need a license to get or something
Hence the powerful doubt
(This is public domain so don't mind sharing)
and of course theres someone on youtube whos picked the exec series locks
hah yea obviously
@whole bear What're you working on?
"Virtually pickproof"
It's all about delay, rather that full resistance
since a fully resistant lock would just mean they attack the door/wall
or find a window
"If you drink and drive, you're a bloody idiot."
wow you really squashed the rice?
lol
that looks really good
thanks
nothing atm, but just completed my lab assignment, wbu

Am not in the vc..
thanks will see if there is something interesting to add.
I am working on the v3 part, v3 in sense, make in compatible with piston api v3, then it would be easier to contribute
Since I would be doing lot of refactoring and making it clean
Have you guys seen this? https://youtu.be/Hi3GSCwWc54 they said we will have a windows store option in discord ๐๐
Today we are talking about the partnership we are doing with Microsoft.
Stay tuned for more in infos in the next weeks.
You wouldn't get this from any other guy.
Read more here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjDebmqFRuc
hm ok will check it today I have 3 projects that I work on currently and 3 more in a line so I will try to check and if I find something that I consider would be nice as addition will contribute. Also if you have issues and project based board it would be even better and easier to find what to work on. ๐
uh oh
is that real? $
Yeah bro it's stupid
i doubt it aint
Yeah there are issues open, with labels and good description
yeah cool I saw there are 10 issues currently open.
Will check it later.
But I would recommend to wait for a week or so, till i get the v3 part done
thank fuck
Well played, Spy

@honest pier (sorry for ping, let me know if you dont like it)
yesterday we were talking about mutability and immutability, and you said we dont have a choice in the matter. However, there are multiple situations where we in fact do have a choice sometimes:
Here is an example:
We can add to a list mutably:
fruits = ["apples", "bananas"]
fruits.append("strawberries")
However, you could also do it immutably:
fruits = ["apples", "bananas"]
fruits = fruits + ["strawberries"]
Other cases involve mutably and immutably updating dictionaries
what do you mean immutably in the second one?
immutably means you arent mutating the original variable(changing some field in it)
you are in fact re-assigning it
both of those modify the variable
mutating isnt exactly modifying
immutably re-assigns
it doesnt do anything in place
for lists, it is
fruits = ["apples", "bananas"]
fruits = fruits + ["strawberries"]
this doesnt modify in place
its like doing ```python
string = string.upper()
its not in place
like list.append is
sure
i don't remember what we were talking about though
that's because strings are immutable
yup
i just asked whether people preferred immutable changes vs mutable ones in programming in general
but yeah cool :)
;-;
i use a mix of OOP and functional programming
:)

Print *objects* to the text stream *file*, separated by *sep* and followed by *end*. *sep*, *end*, *file* and *flush*, if present, must be given as keyword arguments.
All non-keyword arguments are converted to strings like [`str()`](stdtypes.html#str "str") does and written to the stream, separated by *sep* and followed by *end*. Both *sep* and *end* must be strings; they can also be `None`, which means to use the default values. If no *objects* are given, [`print()`](#print "print") will just write *end*.
The *file* argument must be an object with a `write(string)` method; if it is not present or `None`, [`sys.stdout`](sys.html#sys.stdout "sys.stdout") will be used. Since printed arguments are converted to text strings, [`print()`](#print "print") cannot be used with binary mode file objects. For these, use `file.write(...)` instead.
Whether output is buffered is usually determined by *file*, but if the *flush* keyword argument is true, the stream is forcibly flushed.... [read more](https://docs.python.org/3/library/functions.html#print)

Implement the __str__ method of the bank class so that it sorts the account values before printing them to the console.
In order to sort the account values you will need to define the __eq__ and __lt__ methods in the SavingsAccount class (in savingsaccount.py).
The __eq__ method should return True if the account names are equal during a comparison, False otherwise.

hi
whats your name
Computers store data on disk and in memory as bytes. Bytes are made of eight bits. Bits being 0 or 1. We typically only ever look at bytes as hex values from 0 to 255.
Or 0 to FF
So we have 255 possible combinations with which to write a one byte
So what happens when we need to write a single character in a file that does not appear in that 0-255 range?
You use an encoding. A kind of language for extending the range using specific combinations of characters.
That is the basic idea behind what an encoding is. Making more out of less.

Umm, it's a guessing game
I'm pretty new to python so
Should I write out the code here?
@dense ibex what are you doing?
I'm available for a while. Do you have any questions about Python, itself?
@lone sigil Hm. Seems we've not synchronised with each other very well. Nevermind. What I often suggest to people learning Python is the YouTuber, Corey Schafer, who has an excellent Python tutorial playlist.

Yea yea I get that.

I dunno ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Ima get back to coding.
...
Ohh that's what you were getting at...
I got kinda confused.
Yea.
coding is like a school test but you can fail multple times
It is but you said if you don't do it correctly you will hurt yourself
kinda confusing when talking about coding.
Coding is also like riding a bike in the sense It's stupid to do when tired.
no?
3,001 results from me.
if you ride a bike when you are tired you are less likl to fall asleep because you have to balance and peddle
it keeps you awake
Yea and more likely to get hit by a minivan.
yes
the loud engine
and you have to balace
and stay on the road and have road sense
If you're trying to get at the idea that it's smart to ride a bike while tired I don't even know.
totaly
come teach me something
you'll probably end up teaching me something mr.helper
is anyone else a furry?
Nope.
what technologies have you been working with recently?
its vc time!
@whole bear You could just use something like that and only if a message gets deleted log it
If you can with that.
I could think of a lot of cool uses for that
Yea
@whole bear The only thing that makes that stupid is the fact that every time you would restart your computer you'd need to redownload the game.
!charinfo
You are not allowed to use that command here. Please use the #bot-commands channel instead.
Yea the same idea though
Still will take more time probably.
I wonder if there's any RAM sticks that can keep it powered for a while while it's offline.
Like while the rest of the computer is off the RAM still gets powered.
I'd doubt it would need much power at all
I'd think so but then SSD's would be faster.
hmm
God now I want to screw around with discord.py to find a glitch in discord.
They only take like 5 minutes to create a tiny one.

It's inside of the NBT file lmao hold up
Ofc I picked that one section
Thats just a screenshot cause I cant paste it
alr
It's not a image file it's the server.dat file
in .minecraft/servers.dat
Yea the NBT file has a PNG inside of it I guess aswell
It might be the icon for the server
Prob the server icon
Hold on lemme load it in a nbt editor
Yea that's the server icon
That's what we're seeing
That probably also explains why it crashes minecraft when you load it lmao

So scrolling through the server list is what crashes it on 1.16
Then there's something wrong with my code lmao
I just changed a few things with it
wdym?
Its 147881
Also in my code I counted it.
My guy look at the lines in the file
Multiple servers are on 1 line./
I can stream a game in this voice channel because today is a weekend day right?
That file might be partially corrupted cause my game crashed while it was being written
probs
Also alot of the servers in that list aren't going to have images cause you know, my computer cant download 147000 images in 10 seconds.
File would also be huge if that was the case.
i edit png
Ohh
I thought you found that in one of the images in the file
I was so confused.
Hey everyone ๐
Hi

what do you do as part of your job @ Griff(if you're ok with sharing)

So Griff, how's work? ๐
