But that’s for servers.
that's not necessarily a good reason to stop using linux as a standalone os
it's just a good reason to stop using manjaro
i don't recognize other flavors of linux
that's your loss, then
Good reason is you get benefit of Windows and access to Linux for development purposes.

Oh, hello! Funny seeing you here.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you aren't going to find much down here.
There certainly aren't clues to any of the puzzles. The best surprises don't
even appear in the source until you unlock them for real.
Please be careful with automated requests; I'm not a massive company, and I can
only take so much traffic. Please be considerate so that everyone gets to play.
If you're curious about how Advent of Code works, it's running on some custom
Perl code. Other than a few integrations (auth, analytics, social media), I
built the whole thing myself, including the design, animations, prose, and all
of the puzzles.
The puzzles are most of the work; preparing a new calendar and a new set of
puzzles each year takes all of my free time for 4-5 months. A lot of effort
went into building this thing - I hope you're enjoying playing it as much as I
enjoyed making it for you!
If you'd like to hang out, I'm @ericwastl on Twitter.

Oh i already got the conclusion lol. @faint ermine

Whilst many parts of the API are publicly accessible, some endpoints require authentication with an API access key, which is an alphanumeric string such as VtF93tXp5IUZE307kPjijoGCUtBq4INmNTS4wlRG. If provided, this key must be specified when initiating a FlightPlanDB class instance, using the `key` argument.
To get an API key, visit your account settings page. Your account will need a verified email address to add an API key.
Endpoints that require authentication are marked as such below. Failing to provide valid authentication credentials on these endpoints will result in a 401 HTTPError being raised. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your private API key, which gives near full access to your Flight Plan Database account. If your key is exposed, please use `flightplandb.revoke()` to revoke your key manually.

yeah, a set could be useful, but it's not as simple as just finding the difference of two sets
well he could remove the duplicates and then put it in a set
and i think that would work but maybe im wrong
well he wouldnt even need to do that inserting into set makes sure its unique
idk
intstead of deleting the elements you could set them to None and then strip them out afterwards
that way it doesnt mess with the indexes

Ohh Okay
So if you do 345/10 Bec it’s an integer it is only 34 right

what was the question
hey
can someone help me with this pyhton question?
Given a vector with N (1 <N <100) integers, develop a program that allows determine and print whether it is a CONSTANT vector (all elements are equal) or NOT CONSTANT. For example:
N: 6
Vector: | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | two
Output: CONSTANT VECTOR
N: 4
Vector: | 2 | 4 2 | two
Output: VECTOR NOT CONSTANT
It's very easy
yy but i dont know who do
there are multiple ways to do that .but the one which is very easy to do is by using set
Can you help me ask the question please?
how?
as i already said there are many ways to do it
think about it
I can give you some hint
If you don't know set it's fine
you can do with simple programming
yy help me pls
create_phone_number([1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0]) # => returns "(123) 456-7890"
i need I need to deliver this within 10 minutes for my test. Can you help me do it?
just take any number and compare with rest of the numbers and if you find any number different that the number you chosen then it's not a constant vector
@thorny gorge You can construct a solution using set and len.
else it is
def create_phone_number(n):
#your code here
return "(" + str(n[0]) + str(n[1]) + str(n[2]) + ") " + str(n[3]) + str(n[4]) + str(n[5]) + "-" + str(n[6]) + str(n[7]) + str(n[8]) + str(n[9])```
ok thanks
I told you the same 😅
here
lista=[]
z=true
x=int(input("diga quantos valores vai inserir"))
for i in range(x):
y=int(input("insira valores"))
lista.append(y)
for i in range (len(lista)):
if lista[i]==lista[i-1]:
if z==false:
print("não é constante")
@thorny gorge If the set length is greater than one, then there's at least two different values that ever appear.
I've done this so far
yy sry i dont see
@thorny gorge Are you familiar with what a set in Python is?
no
Given a vector with N (1 <N <100) integers, develop a program that allows determine and print whether it is a CONSTANT vector (all elements are equal) or NOT CONSTANT. For example:
N: 6
Vector: | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | two
Output: CONSTANT VECTOR
N: 4
Vector: | 2 | 4 2 | two
Output: VECTOR NOT CONSTANT
lista=[]
z=true
x=int(input("diga quantos valores vai inserir"))
for i in range(x):
y=int(input("insira valores"))
lista.append(y)
for i in range (len(lista)):
if lista[i]==lista[i-1]:
if z==false:
print("não é constante")
i do that
my_list = ['apple', 'apple', 'pear', 'grape', 'grape', 'grape']
my_set = set(my_list)
#at this point
my_set == {'apple', 'pear', 'grape'}```
@thorny gorge A set contains only unique entries. A list of infinite ones will only ever contain one one when cast to a set.
hmmm ok
!e```py
s = set()
def someFunc(myList = [], *args):
for x in myList:
s.add(x)
if(len(s)==1):
print("CONSTANT VECTOR")
else:
print("NOT CONSTANT")
vector = [2,2,2,2]
someFunc(vector)
thanks
I don't know python but I tried
Sets also can be passed to len. len is a function that returns the length of the object you give it.
len('abc') == 3
len('ab') == 2```
okay i'm understanding now
Thus...
my_list = [1,1,2]
my_set = set(my_list)
my_set == {1,2}
len(my_set) == 2```
!e ```py
s = set()
def someFunc(myList = [], *args):
for x in myList:
s.add(x)
if(len(s)==1):
print("CONSTANT VECTOR")
else:
print("NOT CONSTANT")
vector = [2,2,2,2]
someFunc(vector)
@lunar pendant :white_check_mark: Your eval job has completed with return code 0.
CONSTANT VECTOR
You can do away with the for loop.
Also, never use mutable objects as default parameters for functions.
@thorny gorge here what opalmist is telling
!e ```py
def someFunc(myList = [], *args):
temp = myList[0]
for x in myList:
if(x!=temp):
print("NOT CONSTANT")
return
print("CONSTANT VECTOR")
vector = [2,2,2,2]
someFunc(vector)
@lunar pendant :white_check_mark: Your eval job has completed with return code 0.
CONSTANT VECTOR
Use None instead and assign the mutable within the function.
He's very thoughtful about what he types
Indeed
def bad_func(a = []):
pass
def better_func(a = None):
a = ([] if a is None else a)```
Default parameters are evaluated at runtime. So that list will be the same list that's used for each call of the function where a parameter is not supplied in the invocation.
Which you may want, but it's bad practice.
It's saner for functions to be agnostic to everything else that's going on in your code.
It's also an implementation detail which may not apply always and forever
It's not part of the spec
If you need to have external awareness (through self), a method (a function in a class), is usually going to be a more managable option.
Which is another reason why we shouldn't ever be overwriting builtins, because if you overwite something that a function is depending on it's going to throw things into chaos.
Addition to no external awareness, you are allowed to use builtins and imports. It can get a bit tangled if you call functions from the same module in other functions, but...eh.

The archive is located in a decommissioned coal mine in the Svalbard archipelago, closer to the North Pole than the Arctic Circle. GitHub will capture a snapsho...
How to get the permission to stream in vc?
It's pretty surprising what you can do in Desmos
Hey, see #voice-verification
I am voice verified
It's just there is a Video role
that lets you stream
How can I get it?
Oh right, sorry, I misread your question
Ask Hemlock. I believe only Admins can grant streaming permissions.
Ok, thanks :)
Gotta hop in another channel so I can drag you in
Oh no wait
I see
You get it under certain circumstances.
If you need help or are giving help, I'll grant it for when you're assisting folks in the Code Help VC. If you're doing something for the server or you're doing something that's interesting (writing code, doing code reviews, making assets for the server, other neat projects, etc.) I'll grant it while I'm here. There's only a handful of people I've given the role to keep, and that's been by me getting a read for how much I trust them to not fuck around with the role.
Ok, thanks for explaining :)
"Brave is better because you can use YouTube without ads." my brother said
"Argh so sad, you have to wait for a bunch of ads to end. You should switch to Brave." my brother said
"Virus detected" Windows defender says

@tranquil fernYO?
My Vim is pretty ugly, but functional 😄
😔
I'm actually currently learning how to customise the status bar...
bruh the status bar is wiiiiild
Tbh all I want is to display the filetype
Emacs good
whaaaa a vim user
sad psvm is editing with vim
the status bar is "vim airline"
i can give you my config
How do you guys deal with failure or a low point?
you could use also powerline
" custom status bar
Plugin 'vim-airline/vim-airline'
Plugin 'vim-airline/vim-airline-themes'
" use powerline font
let g:airline_powerline_fonts = 0
" enable tabs styling
let g:airline#extensions#tabline#enabled = 1
" tabs style
let g:airline#extensions#tabline#formatter = 'unique_tail_improved'
" airline theme (change with :AirlineTheme)
let g:airline_theme="powerlineish"
" personnal
let g:airline_section_b = ""
let g:airline_section_c = "%f"
let g:airline_section_x = "%{&ft}"
let g:airline_section_y = "%{strftime('%m/%d %a %H:%M')}"
let g:airline_section_z = "≡%l/%L ꔖ%c"
here it is
here is how it looks
what do you want exactly on your status bar ?
well, i like using a trackpad
that's your entire vimrc?
fair enough
Convince me to set up a line/git gutter
well, i don't use much git
but you really need to try :set relativenumber
i actually also do :set number
in my .vimrc :
" relative numerotation
set number
set relativenumber
I would, but I'm on Emacs
I do, yeah
I switched from Neovim a while back because of LSP integration
it's because of the server invite link. The bot catches discord server invites to prevent advertising.
!paste you can use this to share code
Pasting large amounts of code
If your code is too long to fit in a codeblock in discord, you can paste your code here:
https://paste.pydis.com/
After pasting your code, save it by clicking the floppy disk icon in the top right, or by typing ctrl + S. After doing that, the URL should change. Copy the URL and post it here so others can see it.
i actually can do anything i need on vim except live inline latex equations preview. for that i use sublime + neovim layer
i will probably switch to emacs one day
Not everything, but anything.
if you want, i can explain you how to setup a custom one
Yeah, I'm just trying to add some more information and make it readable
This is what I have so far:
I'm trying to avoid installing plugins at all costs.
Oh ok
@flat sentinel No, I would say Snowboarding is harder to learn than skying
no
that's the thing
if you ski, you have more space
but if you are snowboarding you can only move with your body
So you already know the configuration, what do you want ?
Changing colors ?
Erm, only if that makes it more readable.
@rugged root How do you get muted role?
ok, so for me, writing "filetype: ..." is too long
you probably know that "python" is a filetype
same for line and column
for me : ≡207/496 ꔖ0 is clear
Ah, I'm not a fan of overly compact representations of information, as I tend to forget what the different parts mean 😄
well, anyway i don't think you can mess up with the filetype
and the problem with long descriptions is when you have split windows
so everything is compacted
@somber heath How is this humble bumble thing spelled?
thanks
Every now and then, they'll offer things up for free.
Better than Steam, because you can download the installs and it's not online DRMed in the same way as like Steam, so you only have to worry about archiving the installs.
Alright, I'll go with ft instead of filetype. I like that it matches the name of the Vim setting.
yes, for example
Which of these do you think looks cleanest? ```
file: test.py line: 10, col: 20, ft: python
file=test.py line=10 col=20 ft=python
[file: test.py] [line: 10] [col: 20] [ft: python]
[file test.py] [line 10] [col 20] [ft python]
file: test.py line: 10, col: 20, ft: python
!e {4} - {5}
@honest pier :warning: Your eval job has completed with return code 0.
[No output]
my personnal one is
test.py python | ≡108/497 ꔖ53
but i have colors
Oh, I just noticed the ≡ and ꔖ, I'm pretty slow 😄
