It's a defensive measure against screamers and mic blowers, et al. We don't like it either, but it has made the voice chat actually usable vs what it what it would otherwise be.

mobile banking is way to go
on the spot, you control it not the cashier/waiter.
So I'm graduating next week. One of the subjects is informatics, one part is theory the other is programming. I have all the 30 programs in their (nominally) final form ready in a folder (subdivided into an archive and an experiments folder)... they weren't written by me tho, they were coded by a classmate... so now my goal would be actually understanding each of those programs.
centralised banking
get "a caring friend" on youtube in background
start reading those programs one by one
Everything was coded during the lessons
I'm not the odd-one-out the system is like that
@tawny light π
Programming is really interesting to me and I'd like to have it be part of my life.
Unfortunately a very large chunk of our time on the lessons was spent with python turtle and tkinter
Not actual python syntax
The funny thing is most resources to me seem like it's either hello world or smth outlandishly complicated
I am not able to on my mic...!
I mean yea
It is good for absolute beginners and that's it
What if I want to become intermediate
I tried to verify but it said you are less than 3 days active and more...
Yup me too

I think so. Python can do it but it is much more easier if it is done using C++
wow I want to know more about the politics of AI use @flint hill
there might be some system that might try to bridge but it's terrible hack and not worth pursuing
C++ is hard
Oooh python hacks minecraft?
hack as in "Duct taping two things together that are not meant to be taped together"
Ok technically in short form need to mod minecraft using java not python
Right
how about C#?
AI has no introspection ? @flint hill
I don't know What is C#
Visual C#
Yes
C# was designed for game development
You made game using it ?
No, it was designed for Desktop Applications and Web SSR applications, now it's just generic language
Before i develop a simple game by using C#
And what is c++
but as of now I am interested in python for back end
No difference or not
BTW what is backend
"What is backend"
duct tape code , gonna use that line @amber raptor
Back end means you are working behind the scene π
Yoo
If no back end means all full function no behind work at all
Yoo
Why I can't talk
Verify voice
front end focuses on UX. Back end focuses on Server side logic, DBMS, user authentication etc...
Voice verifier says not enough active on server yet
so... will there be a backlash in the future with AI , human coders will have to go back in to fix shit code all over the place @amber raptor
What about making an app for chatting like WhatsApp
thats back end
Great idea

!rule 4
4. Use English to the best of your ability. Be polite if someone speaks English imperfectly.
Yet I abide by rules. I expect smart folks like you all to abide rules more than me π
This was a brief joke between two friends. Why do you think it's your business? I'm not on top of you telling you what to do if you do something I don't agree with.
A backseat moderation rule would be really nice tbh.
And putting smiley faces in rude comments doesn't make them less rude.
I've used ! rule 4, simply cause I saw non english text in public voice chat.
Iβm sorry if my comments came across as rude that wasnβt my intention.
How am I supposed to know, it's not in english.
The point of the english chat rule as I understand it is to avoid extensive discussions which nobody can follow.
This hardly falls under that. Therefore, obsessively chasing down every single use of any non-English words seems to me overly zealous and completely unnecessary.
Through context. The preceding messages, in English were
"are you spying on us?"
"maybe"
that's not the opening for a serious debate about programming

Hey buddy
What are u guys discussing buddy?
The dangers of centralised software repositories paired with megacorporations as the gatekeepers thereof.
Which is why I feel that Github is, itself, dangerous to rely upon.
Microsoft owns github. Linux development uses Github heavily. Windows being in direct competition with Linux. That's not a conflict of interest at all, now, is it?
also facebook. ive never used facebook.
cause meta will never allow me to create an account.
facebook marketplace
i am not giving up any real id
i dont use any social media except whatsapp for family
n discord for programming family. ive got less problems with google and apple than microsoft and meta.
i was looking for monitors. 2k 27 inches are all $120+
there were some on facebook marketplace for 50-60 bucks

if __name__ == "__main__":
why do python have lot of these underscores
around variable, class and function etc ?
oh thank you
so its just for naming convention?
!if-name-main
This is a convention for code that should run if the file is the main file of your program:
def main():
...
if __name__ == "__main__":
main()
If the file is run directly, then the main() function will be run. If the file is imported, it will not run.
For more about why you would do this and how it works, see if __name__ == "__main__".

oh i see
so basically placeholders when calling a function is argument
and passing it when declaring a function is parameter ?
the actual value of "value" is argument
which is "Hello, world."
A parameter is like a variable but its scope is limited to the function and when we call the function we pass an argument with the help of parameter

PEP 8 is the official style guide for Python. It includes comprehensive guidelines for code formatting, variable naming, and making your code easy to read. Professional Python developers are usually required to follow the guidelines, and will often use code-linters like flake8 to verify that the code they're writing complies with the style guide.

i swear i never understood this blueprint thingy in my life. i kind of get this time
PS: never seen a blueprint in my life so idk what do they mean by blueprints.
foo, bar are desing templates for the class MyClass
here MyClass is a class (recipe).
foo bar are Objects (cake)
instance?
instance = take things from MyClass but can change it accordingly when calling them.
all are objects, repice and cake both
!e ```py
class MyClass:
def foo(self):
print("Hello, world.")
bar = MyClass()
bar.foo()```
:white_check_mark: Your 3.14 eval job has completed with return code 0.
Hello, world.
no
!e py foo = [] bar = [] baz = foo print(foo == bar) print(foo is bar) print(foo is baz)
:white_check_mark: Your 3.14 eval job has completed with return code 0.
001 | True
002 | False
003 | True
@grizzled folio π
bar = MyClass()
then you call bar.foo()
which calls bar which is an instance of MyClass
which has a method named foo()
Hi
its same as
!e
class MyClass:
def foo(self):
print("Hello, world.")
MyClass.foo()
you need an instance to call the method
Hi @somber heath
!e ```py
class MyClass:
def foo(self):
print("Hello, world.")
bar = MyClass()
MyClass.foo(bar)```
:white_check_mark: Your 3.14 eval job has completed with return code 0.
Hello, world.
its 44 C
no humidity
its same as 35C in singapore
apple weather says "its 44C but feels like 36C"
.
True
False
True
print(foo == bar)
print(foo is bar)
print(foo is baz)
2 is false because python looks for memory locations for "is" ?
but 3 is true because you already defined baz = foo
yes
foo is empty list
bar is empty list
baz refers to same object as foo
"everything which targets memory is object"
!e ```py
class Foo:
def bar(self):
return self
baz = Foo()
print(baz.bar() is baz)```
:white_check_mark: Your 3.14 eval job has completed with return code 0.
True
!e ```py
class Foo:
def bar(self):
return self
baz = Foo()
boz = Foo()
print(baz.bar() is baz)
print(baz.bar() is boz)```
:white_check_mark: Your 3.14 eval job has completed with return code 0.
001 | True
002 | False
this is how i think of classes. the entire erd diagram creates a lot of confusion

What is Bernard code
We were discussing the use of a language dubbed "Pseudocode" used in the instruction of computer science classes. Some nutwit decided to take the conventional concept of pseudocode and gave it a formalised grammar which arguably makes it not a pseudocode.
It would be fine were it called, as suggested, Bernardcode, or perhaps a different name.
Thx
Ive seen pseudocode before in computer science thats about it

No, we will not assist you in the making of a trojan.

If you do, it means you know nothing
And it could lead on you being harmed especially by the one you're asking to build the thing
The idea of you creating trojan is not something you share on the internet
