soo i tested github spec kit, holy crap it works well with agentic ai. it basicaly builds great project and does documenation for you too
vibecoder
did you write a software spec for your last project?
no I draw on excalidraw
I don't write specs
then the vibecodeing is already sadly superior to your average coding experance

In computer programming, vibe coding is an AI-assisted software development practice. It is a chatbot-based approach to creating software where the developer describes a project or task to a large language model (LLM), which generates source code based on the prompt. The developer does not review or edit the code, but solely uses tools and execu...
@somber heath thoughts?

u wrote it or it generated it for u?
hello ghazi
well i told it what iwanted it wrote the spec, most of the code with a few examples i gave it and did all th edocumenation updating

interesting
bruh
how'd u maintain it
it's not a new concept tho amazon made an ide that just did that

simple i it interfaces with all Agentic AI
yeah basicaly any IDE/AI agent now looks for the spec files ect and uses them
I used it it was not for me
tbh given the documentation and planning documenation i dont think i am going back
we're talking about 20k lines of code running on vibes
how do u maintain this
i can deal with changing what specific code i want, or tell it to use specific programming patterns
that's the real question

as for the rest the projects very atomic

when it says i have to be active for an hour 30 how often do i have to say smth to be considered "active"
every 5 minutes, every 10 minutes, every 15 minutes?
The easy way to do things is to have text conversations in the conventional style.
no one talks for an hour and a half tho
especially abt coding
You've an erroneous concept of the arrangement.
what does erroneous mean
When you haven't sent a message, then do so in a non-bot channel, that starts a ten minute timer. Every subsequent message you send within that ten minutes is within this "activity block". Then, once that ten minutes expires, the next message you send starts another activity block. You need 1hr30min of these activity blocks.
so i have to say smth every 10 minutes or less
The discussion needn't be about programming, depending on the channel you're in.
i dont have enough attention spam to actively talk abt anything for that long unless its vc
@digital holly How to slice:

@haughty pier
Create a variable named shifted_alphabet and use the slicing syntax to assign it the portion of alphabet that starts at the index of shift. Then, call the built-in print() function to print shifted_alphabet on the terminal and look at the result.
### Creat a variable by assigning it to shifted_alphabet ###
### use the slicing syntax to assign it the portion of the alphabet that starts at the index of shift
### Then print ###
Could you take a second on this, I'm doing some coding challenges to strengthen my understanding
var1 = shifted_alphabet
Having a issue with the slicing to be honest, not trying to use any AI.
but correct me on this
it would be 5: or :5 for the slicing
I see how you start where it literally tells you I was trying to count over

Yes because I want to go through every time and make sure Iβve manually dropped any extra memory
The ownership method is the next GC Iβm sorry. Zig, Rust, Goβ¦ three of the current largest growing languages and all three use some form of ownership
GC is a shit, man
@meager sonnet itβs like building a house. If you canβt remember where the pipes and the conduits are and you go to put a nail in the wall youβve ruined it. Knowing the structure, the faults, and where to be better is the shared mindset.
@spark girder just curious, why do u think there is utility in learning till assembly and diving so deep when so much of programming is abstracted
Not truthfully understanding like the assembly level abstraction of it, the point was learning how it works under the hood is better than just waving your hand and acting like you've understood it all. It'll point out a lot of flaws in your own code and being able to push yourself that far will show you the limits of you, your code, and your computer.
@meager sonnet learn from python.org
Fedora 43 Plasma KDE, I've just been a windows user for ~10 years so I'm getting used to an entirely new mindset.
@wind raptor Got any client?
@spark girder switch to arch its good
I have an arch install I just like to have a dedicated windows manager.
hyprland
I dont enjoy CLI only operating systems
use hyprland
Requires extra setup, trust me I've got a buddy who's still trying to get me into Arch
I will move to Arch once I am comfortable using the CLI more than the desktop itself.
nah it doesnt take that time it only took me 2hours for my own hyprland config
Exactly, that is 2 hours I could be spending setting up other things
if you want i can give you mine its simple
Like my virtual 3D desktop
I'm good, I would like to do my own research
Again, I will move to arch when I'm comfortable using the CLI more than the Desktop
@meager sonnet what do you want to do if you learn python
interesting, but I wonder is it domain specific like where are you using python, like to make the program fast or something like efficiency stuffs with data structures and algorithm, or building sustainable pipelines that doesn't fail for edge cases or is it domain independent like helps at almost all domains..
Back to this, it's also how I learned. I've always been pro-knowledge. Having a true grasp on your code and its guts is the only way you will ever truly be able to break past your own struggles in coding. I learned what lock contention is, how it effects my systems, how it works on disk, in memory, and in CPU and now I've gone from adding 200+ ms of latency for locking to having some systems (like my Ptree system) running in microseconds.
I honestly don't use python much anymore. Most of my work is Go, Rust, and Typescript. Python has been demoted to automation and AI for me.
I'd definitely say that there are areas where knowing the internals are absolutely useless (mostly python) because it's never going to be fast enough, it's never going to be good enough, it's just ok enough for anyones needs.
I see your point, for me it's like this, I mean I am kind of interested in underlying stuffs too because if I don't understand the under the hood stuffs it's like I don't get the big picture of what am I doing, where my code is going etc. but yeah at this point I kind of lack the notion of how much to learn. Shall I just learn it in an abstract manner or read codebase documents on how python is actually made..
You donβt need to understand like βThis compiles to XYZ assemblyβ but just what it truthfully does minus the hand holding of abstraction.
Bear with me one second I have a clingy cat to deal with
name=input("enter you name: ")

bro display teh name also
Sorry about that. A good example of what I mean is like⦠a Rust HashMap. Knowing its faults, its flaws, and what it does is the only way to use it properly.
We know a HashMap takes a key, runs Hash(key), from there it either spins up an index bucket or grabs the pre-existing one and maps said hash of key into this bucket. The key value are now stored as K,V pairs in said index bucket.
What if we mutate an object in that index bucket? What happens if we use Eq on one of the K,V pairs in that bucket? Itβs physically still at the same memory pointer however we will never be able to get it out of said HashMap because it now logically hashes to an entirely new bucket.
Knowing this can stop you from accidentally destroying your HashMap. You are now capable of fighting your own problems

if n==0:
return 0
elif n==1:
return 1
else:
return fib(n-1)+fib(n-2)
here you go

it will take time i will die
what you dont define types
he is homeless
@meager sonnet the best way is to find something you want to fix and fix it. Software development is about solving problem, if you can make it fun for yourself not only does your brain translate that to useful fun information but it makes understanding it just a bit easier. Start by solving your own problems then expand onto that.
@wind raptor correct me if Iβm wrong
Yeah, this is very true.
I guess the point is like of course u learn to code when someone use this website but it doesn't solve the function to learn a particular tech stack like using Python, SQL for data engineering or Java for android development etc.

for what?
neither
Glocks are designed to be self defense pistol so unless you are focusing on that type of shooting, they are not great buy.
Self defense
So, you used Django to build it?
certain shotguns are fine for self defense as well
Yeah
Wait, are you American?
No
Can you even legally own a glock where you are?
yes
Yes
Cool but work on the UI

Don't exist privacy more
This is a lie. Privacy exists itβs just hard to come by
If I live in the middle of no where with the nearest neighbor being an hour drive and no one comes on my land. I have privacy. If I never leave my house, donβt share my information, donβt even touch a computer; privacy. Itβs a luxury these days.
yeah, maybe
