Oh
but neovim is full fledged code editor
with syntax highlithing, LSP and linter suport
But I am comfortable with an IDE like VScode. That's why I use Replit.
But Replit has all things
i mostly offline the time im coding so....
Inbuilt terminal to code highlighter.
also replit is super lagy the time im coding using phone
Everything
Ok
Maybe sometimes
Look up documentation for Python symbols.
pydroid gets the job done but.... no autocompletion and linter is depressing
Pydroid?
for a simple CPU emulator it took me 3 days
yes?
its a IDE
Library
free
Oh
for android
But I use multiple languages
I like python, java, kotlin, c, c#, c++, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, react, flutter
Etc
nice
I created all using Replit and GitHub
i wish replit is good the time im using it cus i never have the oportunity to learn advance stuff with only pydroid
github is not a code editor...
Any difference between git and GitHub?
git is a program, github is a service
git is a version control for your programs
github is a nice interface for git that also acts as code sharing platform
?
you dont need computer to know those
infact i learned those while i was coding using phone
But the time is matter
pcmb???
Should I dm you the GitHub profile?
what is pcmb?
Physics, chemistry, math and biology
where S is the physics,chemestry and biology at ones
Science, Technology, Engeneering and Mathematics
Yeah
what is that...
what is JEE?
Joint entrance exam
Exam for IIT's
oh...
You know IIT?
wait its indian...
Yeah I am too
This is my GitHub profile
yes...
You saw my GitHub profile?
actualy its 5th....
What?
its n ot on ur discord link....
oh nvm
mine is a simple one
simple one..
im looking on the data from masterportal.com
no need... i dont have something usefull there
Can you follow back me
It's not instagram.
I have a minecraft java edition launcher for Android
lmao
I created a minecraft java edition launcher for Android. Is is intresting?
What's the meaning of lmao?
Bro do you play Minecraft?
yes bro
Java or bedrock bro?
im looking on your android java calculator... why are you storing the values using string.....
bedrock bro cus i dont have beefy laptop bro
Now you can play java on Android
i use java but only 1.16 with 1 chunk render distance
yes but its not good
also i cant play multiplayer
Ok
i dont wanna but java
It's easier
cus i dont have device to use it for
i made my calculator with
Double operand0 = 0;
Double operand1 = 0;
String operator = "";
int collected_level = 0;
Ok
thats my variables....
like only that (excluding other necessities)
crashing???
Yeah
oh you meant you making browser??
is that a chromium fork?
Chromium based
well you should use debugger by that point
thats why having computer is important for developers
Yeah
mobile doesnt cut it
I can't see the log
you should
So I can't understand why it is crashing
you can maybe create a log dump
welp if i can help you if you dont have the logs i dont think i cant help much
btw who is meu?
its me
Oh
:3
Bye bro
@paper wolf is it true that you are a herald of neovim
haha
my neovim config is trash lol

@wise loom let them first
@stray pewter being able to explain stuff is the ultimate sign of understanding
anyways learning programming at very young age is something i wish i had the opportunity to do
basicly
its a super simple language
on a os that has no heap
no multithreading capability
everything runs in a single address space
No paging
no memory protection between tasks
every pointer is a pisical address
everything is controlled directly by memory mapped registers
i am not sure what you want me to explain
its hard for me to explain and understand what you mean but if you dont belive me that I sold a shitty language for a niche os for 100 bucks then fine
@wise loom Hot mic.
well on the second one i think your processor is faster than the storage system... so you would just first measure how fast the storage system can move stuff and you take it as reference to make a correct buffer size
lol opalmist alr said that
Debian Trixie is perfect for servers and excellent for laptops that support it fully (4-5 year lag between when the laptop enters the market and when it is supported by Debian)
crazy low level stuff
is ||man 2 sendfile|| pertaining ||debian or the kernel|| ?
balance tree or btree
why do you have a C++ file in a java project π
lol
altho its not aa java project
its just a file
yo @scarlet halo how to make my neovim config better π
bro my config is barebone
it doesnt have bunch of stuff
infact i dont even use telescope
and terminal
remove neotree, install Oil.nvim, remove the tab bar and use telescope/fzf-lua instead
why.. i dont even use it
you'll become faster if you do.
this is my latest config
the preview is mostly same
nothing changed on the appearance
also m lsp config is total mess
you use mason?
yes
im dumb and dont know how to setup my lsp correctly
also do you do you added preview on ur neovim config?
i mean i can send a screenshot here of how it looks
ignore the lines, i don't have my i3 setup fully on my laptop lol
idk how do remove the lines bruh π
Lol
@scarlet halo
@hidden void π
hi
fine
how about you
FIXING SEGMENT FAULTS
been fixing the same stuff for 3 days
making me crazy
fun indeed
I actually didn't use GDB
pretty much
I know where the issue is
I know which API function is segment faulting
and because I'm linking the library at runtime I don't really know how to see into the library (CPython)
I'm writing Zig trying to link CPython
GDB works with runtime linked library?
plus idk if the build I'm using have debug symbol tho ( can libraries even have debug symbols?
yeah
π
I'm working with the CPython interpreter
and I'm suspecting some object life time or referenceing stuff is wrong
and I can't really tell why, because in some very specific setup it does work
Hi , I am Having a problem in Database I didn't catch anything cuz I am been busy and I didn't pay attention at the lec so Is there is any youtube vidoes to understand the lec @wind raptor
@primal shadowwow what do u do for living python automation ?
only sql
I still can't figure out what string type I should use in SQL
varchar
Basic Query Structure
A typical SQL query has the form: select A1, A2, ..., An from r1, r2, ..., rm where P
Ai represents an attribute
Ri represents a relation
P is a predicate.
The result of an SQL query is a relation.
understanding the problem and How can I solve it
store your integer in a varchar
I just want to understand the mechanism of solving this kind of questions and problems
@wind raptor My Prof
i forgot
this is one of the pages in the powerpoint
nvim-cmp?
ok I need to go , but before I go Is there is a chance to work in a company remotly just with python automation ?
Understood

!slice
Slicing is a way of accessing a part of a sequence by specifying a start, stop, and step. As with normal indexing, negative numbers can be used to count backwards.
Examples
>>> letters = ['a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e', 'f', 'g']
>>> letters[2:] # from element 2 to the end
['c', 'd', 'e', 'f', 'g']
>>> letters[:4] # up to element 4
['a', 'b', 'c', 'd']
>>> letters[3:5] # elements 3 and 4 -- the right bound is not included
['d', 'e']
>>> letters[2:-1:2] # Every other element between 2 and the last
['c', 'e']
>>> letters[::-1] # The whole list in reverse
['g', 'f', 'e', 'd', 'c', 'b', 'a']

!d sorted
sorted(iterable, /, *, key=None, reverse=False)```
Return a new sorted list from the items in *iterable*.
Has two optional arguments which must be specified as keyword arguments.
*key* specifies a function of one argument that is used to extract a comparison key from each element in *iterable* (for example, `key=str.lower`). The default value is `None` (compare the elements directly)...
This
!d min
min(iterable, /, *, key=None)``````py
min(iterable, /, *, default, key=None)``````py
min(arg1, arg2, /, *args, key=None)```
Return the smallest item in an iterable or the smallest of two or more arguments.
If one positional argument is provided, it should be an [iterable](https://docs.python.org/3/glossary.html#term-iterable). The smallest item in the iterable is returned. If two or more positional arguments are provided, the smallest of the positional arguments is returned.
There are two optional keyword-only arguments. The *key* argument specifies a one-argument ordering function like that used for [`list.sort()`](https://docs.python.org/3/library/stdtypes.html#list.sort). The *default* argument specifies an object to return if the provided iterable is empty. If the iterable is empty and *default* is not provided, a [`ValueError`](https://docs.python.org/3/library/exceptions.html#ValueError) is raised.

!d compound
8. Compound statements
Compound statements contain (groups of) other statements; they affect or control the execution of those other statements in some way. In general, compound statements span multiple lines, although in simple incarnations a whole compound statement may be contained in one line.
The if, while and for statements implement traditional control flow constructs. try specifies exception handlers and/or cleanup code for a group of statements, while the with statement allows the execution of initialization and finalization code around a block of code. Function and class definitions are also syntactically compound statements.

!scope
A scope defines the visibility of a name within a block, where a block is a piece of Python code executed as a unit. For simplicity, this would be a module, a function body, and a class definition. A name refers to text bound to an object.
For more information about names, see /tag names
A module is the source code file itself, and encompasses all blocks defined within it. Therefore if a variable is defined at the module level (top-level code block), it is a global variable and can be accessed anywhere in the module as long as the block in which it's referenced is executed after it was defined.
Alternatively if a variable is defined within a function block for example, it is a local variable. It is not accessible at the module level, as that would be outside its scope. This is the purpose of the return statement, as it hands an object back to the scope of its caller. Conversely if a function was defined inside the previously mentioned block, it would have access to that variable, because it is within the first function's scope.
>>> def outer():
... foo = 'bar' # local variable to outer
... def inner():
... print(foo) # has access to foo from scope of outer
... return inner # brings inner to scope of caller
...
>>> inner = outer() # get inner function
>>> inner() # prints variable foo without issue

Hello i have a question
I received IP attacks on my VPS from external IP scans. What caused this? Do I need to install a firewall to prevent this from happening agai
@toxic cave π
hopefully
alright.
thank's for the answer π
Heyce.
i loose my count on the phishing images posted here lol
"IP attacks"?
Yes with a tcp port
most of the random connections usually do no more harm than AI training scrapers
they just spam logs
Friend: "Just put your image into variables and no one can change it after you encode the files"
Me: "Thanks, so wtf is this zeros and ones"
Super, move just a touch closer to your microphone.
Much.
You could move a touch further away.
It's just when you're far away, I can hardly hear you.
But when you moved closer it was very close.
Hm?
As ever.
Well, I've probably had pork relatively recently, but belly specifically...I don't remember. It would have been a long time ago if ever.

@peak depot we sometime here have some stuff like that done near/past midnight
very schedule
@peak depot minesweeper, yes
too much explodable content
Assassin's Creed has the "intentionally lengthified" content issue
player retention with the goal of taking up players' time, not to have players have fun
ya same with far cry just repetaition of same thing to make games feel longer...
and just game designer laziness
I don't get annoyed by repetition, but I also don't really play this sort of games
I used to play Division 1 for some time
but I kind of skipped the grindy parts by being good at the game
(doing very higher level missions both in duo with someone else and alone)
dying on the same boss 10 times is more entertaining than killing weaker enemies 1000 times just to ugprade
yaa fr
wolf level 30, you level 29, wolf wins
many of the long games that I finished were mostly reading
and I'm replaying one of them
control is i think one of the best story mode games with like the powers and stuff it is what i would want to have in real life to have ability to control objects around you.. and quite cool story...
88 hours spent so far on a 40 hours game
I think the environment part is what I usually pay more attention to than characters' abilities
Hey is AI really gonna take entry level tech jobs ? or is it just a hox? what u guys think about it?
does anybody know how a microbit works
AI is in its current state is uneconomic for domain-specific tuning
like more of npc? or the enemies? or the surrounding like the place the event is happening?
I mean learning how to interact with the environment rather than learning to use special abilities of the character I'm playing
I was really reluctant about even reading through the tutorial on how the attacks worked
so just picked one-two that mostly worked and mostly only used those
due to the token generation cost? or the fine tunning cost?
or bad results maybe
(not really spoilers~~, more like gameplay ad~~) some levels in Noctuary involve some quite difficult puzzle-ish solutions, and that's where the game forces to use all modes of attack
training and tuning cost specifically
generation cost is separate, and that's mostly uneconomical too
it's really not a cost reduction measure yet
at best, it's a way for a single senior employee to do more at a higher overall cost to the company
that should come down right overtime? with so much money poring into R&D for AI like in a few years maybe 5?
I learned how to parry at around 60 hours in I think
AI doesn't get cheaper, as far as commercially available options go
it's not yet at a stage of good enough, so the main push is for higher quality output
which means more computation per each query
the trend might change
but that's where it moves currently
so one Senior eng will need less of juniors under him for a task?
juniors aren't just tools for other employees to utilise;
primary requirement for them not to getting fired at a healthy organisation is the ability to learn
which AI still can't do
for many cases, juniors' lack of knowledge is partially the benefit
oh ya so what i was trying to ask is obv currently ai is not up to that level where it can replace junuor programers.. but can it be after a certain time frame.. i know it is not actually logical thinking and is just next word prediction machine.. but can they be improved to such a level that it doesnt matter if they are thinking logically? or just predicting the next word?
something AI was designed not to have with how it absorbs all training data it can
ya thats a point
less experienced employees don't know better about what's commonly thought of as impossible, so you can just throw more speculative tasks at them and see if they're able to do what you can't afford spending seniors' time on
LLMs can be used for similar sort of experimentation,
but they're still overly biased towards the common approaches
any sort of "low cost" with LLM code comes from how you can just discard whatever it generated
doing that to other people's code is somewhat suboptimal
oh wow i never thought of it in a org point of view
so it is great for experiments that you dont know will work.. or not and cant waste human resources at it so use AI that should cost less hmm niceee thankss

I'm taking a python class at college so yeah
I need to use a while loop
yes

Yeah in python too
yes
yes
and yes
yeah
so where do I start, like what do I write in the while loop
I'm just trying to print the sample output
so do I create a text file
so it would be like dictionary
yes
so how would I write the structure, like a while loop
so would the structure include a while loop?
Notepad++ won't have a terminal for checking errors afaik
I don't want you to write the while loop yet.
I just want you to use dictionaries, lists, strings and integers to write a data structure containing at least two courses's worth of data.
I just created an empty list
so how would I do it
Mock the data.
Place dictionaries in lists, dictionaries in dictionaries, lists in lists, strings in dicts, tuples, lists...whatever makes sense.
Let's move down.

PEP 8 is the official style guide for Python. It includes comprehensive guidelines for code formatting, variable naming, and making your code easy to read. Professional Python developers are usually required to follow the guidelines, and will often use code-linters like flake8 to verify that the code they're writing complies with the style guide.

@somber heath python is fine for us
but not for really complicated stuff
and when they don
t
have space in the space ship let's ssay they have to use other languages
for benefits
but for us peasants doesn't matter much

well neural networks are mostly coded in python

well maybe that's the problem
what if we do it with c or assembly
That'll take alot of time.
It might be faster, but production time will increase by alot.
a lot of nerds you mean
Well, increasing the amount of people requires hiring more people.
That's expensive lol
ah damn
yeah true
that shouldn't be a problem lol there are a lot of unemployed people
and girls hanging around the office filming tiktoks and doing nothing still LMAO
The problem isn't with finding people, it's about paying them.
It's expensive and companies don't want to do that.
From what I've heard, there are alot of "freeloader" employees who just copy and paste all the time.
yeah with the money they print everyday they give it to blackrock instead of us
Companies at this point want to fire employees rather than hire them lol.
yeah "AI IS SO GOOD BRO" ceos that pile up the work to few employees
yeah and a lot of fake jobs
true
for real
@serene timber π
π
Can someone here teach coding?
Or not teach
But show me something to watch
Aa okay
Python
@serene timber , what do you want to do?
holup
Im making a text-based RPG game
my bad that means something different
Are you planning on doing game development for long term?
Yes
Then you can try learning from programming with mosh.
He makes it pretty simple in an hour.
Oh π

If this all seems hard to you, try learning the fundamentals of a programming language.
Such as variables, operators, functions, OOP etc.
These all will help you understand programming languages overall.
Tho if you're just doing it for a school project, then just use chatgpt ππ
π I thought about it
Hello everyone, I love music games and my favorite is tiles hop, but in new versions it's simply impossible to play, terrible animated balls, a bunch of ads and no normal songs either, I want to make a copy of it with you without advertising with the same functions, but cleaned of all garbage, who wants to help me, write in private messages
@frank agate π
But i wanna learn it myself though a hundred percent
Does Python have a lot to do with basic maths?
Because i am horrible at mathematic
@somber heath How important is learning design pattern and software architecture pattern in the age of gpts?
I have the impression that they suggest the "most suitable" patterns in most of the time
that's a good argument. thanks

If I may ask, do you mostly use coding agents now a days for software development works?
Do you think usage of coding agents make the development work "faster" than coding everything by hand?
Sorry the too general question

OpenAI is asking the US gov for bailouts and to be subsidized because of all the losses they've incurred.
Also GPUs have a 4-year depreciation cycle so it's going to be really fun reading news about OpenAI in 2-3years from now to see who's going to give them money to refresh their datacenters with new GPUs.
@whole bear π
It mainly depends on who's using it,
If they understand the overall system, then using chat bots to code for them usually increases their productivity massively.
If they don't, they just add more AI slop to their program.
Aren't they gonna have enough enterprise customers to generate enough revenue by then ?
Also, many software engineers use it for productivity. So it's not smth necessarily bad, as long as the programmer understands what they are doing.
