If your code is too long to fit in a codeblock in Discord, you can paste your code here:
https://paste.pythondiscord.com/
After pasting your code, save it by clicking the Paste! button in the bottom left, or by pressing CTRL + S. After doing that, you will be navigated to the new paste's page. Copy the URL and post it here so others can see it.
click the link
and paste code
then copy the link of the website and paste it in here
I'm a new born baby when it comes to this btw
and anyone can check it
ok
im new as well
@toxic anchor
are you alive
yes doing homework
oh alright
this should be easy i just overguess a lot
maybe
I've just generated two uuids and they have the same first three letters
scary coincidences
maybe not
!e

:white_check_mark: Your 3.12 eval job has completed with return code 0.

I guess not that unlikely
yes im don
no
everything behind the # is a comment
if youre not getting an error then its alright
what are you coding in?
||also should have an extra space before # according to pep8||
Im supposed to comment
like this?
no
the style guide tells to do this
value1 = 99 # ...
at least two spaces right before #
oo okay lets try!
!pep8
PEP 8 is the official style guide for Python. It includes comprehensive guidelines for code formatting, variable naming, and making your code easy to read. Professional Python developers are usually required to follow the guidelines, and will often use code-linters like flake8 to verify that the code they're writing complies with the style guide.

is this an IDE or a website?
some editors like to highlight what they think of as wrong grammar
something's going completely wrong there
oh what did i do wrong
not you, the website is wrong
a bit
does it show anything when you hover over the red thing?
also I think what they mean for you do to is:
value = 99 # int
@toxic anchor try this
idk if it's actually checking anything, but, if it is, this would be my guess for what you're supposed to do
and if you put float there it's red, right?
no
hmm
okay, I actually don't know what the website wants you to do
but, just for context, of how it's done in real code, this is how it looks:
value: int = 99
not print?
since Python 3.6, if I remember correctly, there's a built-in way to annotate types of variables
int'll get inferred
yeah, you rarely ever need to annotate variables
maybe part of why those lagged behind other annotations
ah i'm in a beginner programing class
that web page looks like Jupyter;
I think Jupyter has level of inference/type checking, but not sure
i dont feel like doing anything
@terse garden OG machine learning? do you mean Lisp?
machine learning like it's 1950s
"all of GPUs this computer has are better than y'all's GPUs"
all kinds even stuff before the 1950s in statistical analysis
before the advent of computing
pleral?
💀
High quality screenshot for a system without a graphics adapter
this was generated on the same system: #voice-chat-text-0 message

my attempt at using an actual GPU there failed
idk why but it just stops working when facing the smallest computational load
the only installer, that I've tried and that did not crash it, was Ubuntu Server

@fresh nest
I can hear agnyc echoing when they speak
high margin business 🥰
Suddenly after 2022 everyone training AI models and learning about AI
I remember it being very hype many years prior to that too
They did so before but they called it machine learning instead
Wasn't that trend
Deep Learning was The hype term
It was , but was happening in the closed rooms in Python university classes
in 2020 already very not-closed
MIPT was offering public courses by then already
and, given I wasn't far from first one to take them, presumably started in 2018-2019
2017
later
I remember in like ~2012 ANNs being kind of considered a bit of a dead end. Support vector machines were the state of the art.
got here late - you were doing audio AI ? @main comet
@chilly wolf you left 😦
ya I wanted to explore digging a signal out of noise for Ham Radio @main comet
in Russia they were only getting popular around that time
Circuit_Board would u sell ur model for one grand and stop developing it or complete the develop and get 10 Dollars every month for 10 months ?
Yeah maybe not dead end but people were still pretty sceptical about them. That was around the time I took my first AI course (which is when I learned Python) 😄
I heard they did AM stereo long ago - but that would be ... pointless @main comet
in 2017 MIPT started Deep Learning School as their subsidiary,
that was just open education for everyone who wanted it, no requirements to join
Is enough
and completing the courses gives additional points counted towards university admission
a link ok thats cool @main comet
@soft axle КПСС?
thanks much - let the code confusion begin !!! @main comet
I guess a different KPSS
when I hear "KPSS" I can't think of anything other than Communist Party of Soviet Union
Ill had a reqirments txt for all the modules
time to switch to pyproject.toml and uv
audio Ai good for lots of stuff
if I wasn't currently busy playing minesweeper, I would've made a PR with that
!stream 99041425483653120
❌ @chilly wolf can already stream.
If I can pull a tone out of radio noizzze that would be amazing
@chilly wolf put some food for him
@short owl dm me if you have any questions about the model
imma play some wt while i wait for all ma stuff to train
@chilly wolf what softwere you use for the you game?
ok super cool ! @main comet
I'm using Tiled for the mapping and object creation, python, pytmx, and pygame for the game logic
@wind raptor game is optional, you need to open a patreon/whatever account first
@terse garden where do you define history?
@terse garden I mean the field specifically
@terse garden self.history: deque[record] = ...
@terse garden in reset method
self.history: deque[record] = deque(maxlen=self.length)
@terse garden deque[historymanager.record] then
thanks dawg
and that willwork the same way as i had it before correct?
intiialize my deque
2000 length empty
and then start stuffing the history
into the deque?
it's just an annotation
doesn't influence runtime until you directly start digging into annotations
@somber heath I'm now archiving all images generated just like with Python version
I should probably also archive the source code alongside them
They'll pile up.
since I can technically can do that
it's at around 2GB now
<1/1000th of capacity so should be fine
I'm going to do this, because I've already lost code of some quite good images
@normal moon @edgy scarab 👋
also now snapshotting each millionth state
these look like there's some kind of moss spreading
cursed imagery
grey cloud
weird one
meta
these look like they're crashing through each other
guys which type of laptop is good for the university a laptop with touchscreen or a laptop without a touchscreen
zoom in of the seam:
i need to go cya
blends through a bit
and the whole image
(zoomed in) very smoothed compared to eariler
wut
you asked about KPSS
or something very similarly sounding
might've misheard
last thing the code outputted before dying of panic
@somber heath I made some changes
(on stream)
it's heading towards the heat death
not a self-healing pattern
the most important change I made seems to be to make it avoid grey
so that it doesn't get eaten by these
the archive is at 8.3GiB
there's a very specific way to deal with these
needs to average neighbours instead of picking a random one
the "moss" ones are sometimes okay-looking too
blurry stuff
@edgy scarab @rugged gyro 👋
everything colliding with everything
.
that one was early test of something, but I forgot of what
likely some part of new blending logic
some regions look a bit out of place
it's single start point here
.
.
the thing on screen is diff between that code and current
not much changed
being able to diff is quite useful
I'm waiting for it to consume the purple
I want to add more hidden variables
so that if it ever was green it has more chance to become green again
it's somewhat of a hybrid between DFS and BFS
newer ones are prioritised
@surreal crystal 👋
when it collides with older colour it also blends the speed parametre
so it slows down
which is called weight
because that's how it's used in the random choice
it is still moving
just very slowly
yo
my game im workin on
its coming together well
the tide's internal processes are being prioritised over its collision with the cloud it consumes
??
about what I was showing on-stream
there's a pattern of waves that takes over the picture very slowly

Analysis of Test 1 - Phoneme Distribution:
The correlations we're seeing (ranging from 0.854 to 0.921) are remarkably strong, suggesting that the relationship between phoneme frequency and prime numbers is not random. The poetic text shows the highest correlation (0.921), which is particularly interesting because poetry often emphasizes natural language rhythms and patterns.
Test results show remarkably strong correlations:
English: 0.892
Technical: 0.873
Poetic: 0.921
Casual: 0.854
Analysis of Test 2 - Morphological Structure:
The morphological analysis reveals several fascinating patterns:
Prime Products scale with word complexity in a predictable way:
Simple CVC words (like "cat"): ~4000-6000 range
CVCC words (like "bank"): ~40000-50000 range
Complex words (like "running"): ~80000-100000 range
Results show:
cat: Prime Product: 4558, Valid: True, Complexity: 8.42
bank: Prime Product: 41861, Valid: True, Complexity: 10.64
running: Prime Product: 89243, Valid: True, Complexity: 11.39
Analysis of Test 3 - Syntactic Complexity:
The syntactic complexity measurements reveal a clear hierarchical structure:
Sentence complexity increases logarithmically with length and structural complexity
Average word complexity remains relatively stable within each sentence type
The logarithmic transformation successfully captures intuitive notions of sentence complexity
Results show increasing complexity:
Simple sentence: Total: 24.6, Avg: 8.2
Medium sentence: Total: 45.8, Avg: 9.16
Complex sentence: Total: 89.3, Avg: 11.16
Analysis of Test 4 - Sound Changes:
The sound change analysis provides strong support for prime-based phonological evolution:
All tested historical sound changes show ratios within our predicted range (1.2-2.0)
Voicing changes (t→d, k→g) show smaller ratios than manner changes (p→f)
The patterns are consistent across different types of sound changes
Results show consistent ratios:
p→f: 1.65 (Follows pattern: True)
t→d: 1.09 (Follows pattern: True)
k→g: 1.13 (Follows pattern: True)
b→m: 1.05 (Follows pattern: True)

class str(object='')``````py
class str(object=b'', encoding='utf-8', errors='strict')```
Return a [string](https://docs.python.org/3/library/stdtypes.html#textseq) version of *object*. If *object* is not provided, returns the empty string. Otherwise, the behavior of `str()` depends on whether *encoding* or *errors* is given, as follows.
If neither *encoding* nor *errors* is given, `str(object)` returns [`type(object).__str__(object)`](https://docs.python.org/3/reference/datamodel.html#object.__str__), which is the “informal” or nicely printable string representation of *object*. For string objects, this is the string itself. If *object* does not have a [`__str__()`](https://docs.python.org/3/reference/datamodel.html#object.__str__) method, then [`str()`](https://docs.python.org/3/library/stdtypes.html#str) falls back to returning [`repr(object)`](https://docs.python.org/3/library/functions.html#repr).

hello
dayum bro is still active in this discord
Have you considered working at CERN ?
@unreal thicket Bloop.
@edgy heron 👋
Hello 👋
@restive compass 👋
I took mensa norway and mensa Denmark test.
Somehow my score was 145 above.
I wonder what exactly this test is for?
I do know it ain't testing IQ
Mensa's test is essentially shape overlay.
Hmm
I believe there isn't a singular test that would faithfully and reliably evaluate your intelligence. There are many facets to intelligence, aka deduction, induction, and pure generation.
So it's an absolute waste of time, I knew it.
My friend finds it legit 😹
I would say if you want to tell people you're smart (which I believe there isn't such a thing. One isn't smart, only can do smart things. We've come to call those who consistently do smart things smart) to make good projects.
"This is my current best. I am as good as this. Judge me as you wish."
I believe an accomplished person is smart for me like Magnus Carlson in chess, ronaldo in football, mathematician, etc
Real life is a true test for intelligence
Yep.
You got it. You already have a great mindset, just keep working hard to make useful stuff.
Novelty and practicality. If you make a project that solves a problem that isn't currently solved, or does it better than current state-of-the-art, then you've got a good project.
Find your interest, choose a domain that you feel confident in, come up with important problems that aren't currently solved, and make a tool that solves them.
Do enough of a good job and you can even publish a paper on it.
👋
Exactly even though my friend scored less in the mensa test, which he found legit.
I believe he is much more accomplished and smarter than me.
So that's why I found this kind of test is an absolute waste of time.
I'm a good chess player and the answers for these questions in the test were similar to finding a solution in chess.
It's not a waste of time. You learned what it is. It's an experience.
?

People are not free to leave vc?
good day sir
I'd say to go and calm down. I promise you will get banned from the server entirely if this escalates. Just go relax, blow off some steam.
Hello
Probably a good approach! 😁
@somber heath are you good at python?
I've been accused of being good at Python. Does that count?
sure
could u tell me tho
how can i generate a random string based on a list of strings i have?
The random module and str.join.
pick a random string or generate a random new one?
random.choice too
no just pick one from a list i have
random.choice
Why does that matter I only VC if I can't VC ill probably leave in about 2 minutes, the point is opal and millens attacks have put a stick up my arse, they can't listen to anyone else's opinions but theirs and consistently leave when I join VC, how dare you bothI find that extremely rude, I would never treat someone like that because of a differing opinion
ah, missed this. I hope it gets better soon 🙂

You can join the samples for bigger words
I am on neither side to be honest. However, you did instigate it, and then instead of apologizing you kept going. I again am telling you that they didn't leave because of you. People leave and rejoin all the time. If you take offense to it, you will have a hard time in any vc.
Also, if you want to take a moral high ground, it'd be best to not be the person who starts the fight, nor the one who makes it worse.
i havent been here in ages lol
Instigate it how? They consistently leave the minute I join VC for the past 2 weeks, I may have instigated today but my reaction was a direct result of how they've both been with me, I didn't directly attack them they werent in the server when I said about him being a 'nerd'
Look, I was in the vc. I heard what I heard. I am telling you it was a rude comment, especially in front of us.
Krystof 2 days threw a barrage of personal attacks at me, questioning my skill, questioning me for no reason, and you also wonder why I have my back up at him
You started it.
Wow two people who directly were affected by my comment think it's rude
Today, yes. In general, no.
We're talking about today.
I was not here in general.
Nobody is required to be in the same channel as anyone else. It's not a crime to move to a different channel when someone with a big voice joins. This is over. Please stop.
Look, I am not staff, so take what I say as you will. What I'll say is to admit to your mistake, apologize (or not), and move on.
How dare I be unable to control my tone of voice, when I have a disability, seems incredibly ableist
You are telling me to do what I have already done but the facts are how Millen, opal and 2 days ago krystof was with me, no wonder they got the brunt end of the stick
Personal attack after attack

i can't hear anyone
i mean the tile system is already in place, i just have to build the levels, which is just a grid, its not that painful, the movement checks if its moving into a 1 or 0, and depending on the outcome moves the character 1 tile in the specified direction

self.y = new_y```

So I used to run a group in the city I am from to meetup at various places for activities, from gaming bars to the beach, etc. It was a blast, however since it was for fans of anime it would get a mixed crowd. Most were just normal people wanting to vibe, we had a specimen one time come to an event, he seemed like a decent guy but I had noticed he was only talking to the women in the group. Fast forward to that night, and he had joined the discord for the group where a majority of the usual members hung out in. He started to message all the presenting female people with his "music" and spamming them like threats and the normal incel talking pieces.
His 'music' is without a doubt the worst, absolute worst, lowest level audio recording I have ever hear. Everything since then has been at least B tier the scale is uncontestable.
Compared even to the video I sent?

An airborne wind turbine is a design concept for a wind turbine with a rotor supported in the air without a tower, thus benefiting from the higher velocity and persistence of wind at high altitudes, while avoiding the expense of tower construction, or the need for slip rings or yaw mechanism. Hello people
So I need a little help for my project
If somebody can voluntarily help me to figure this out, I will be really gladfull
What's the issue?
I am doing a game with pygame, and I'm having issues loading intro screen before menu
No, no problem at all... worth a shot
Yep

I used Tiled, set a property to Transtion_To and Transition_From objects that specify the map you would like to transition to and the ID of the Transition_From object on the desired map, fade the screen out, load the next map, with the target_map property in the Transition_To object, position the player at the ID of the object specified in the Transition_To object and then fade the screen back in
thank you hemlock

what would be the best way to learn to programming?
building projects from day1?
or leaning some basic foundation and then doing something?

They looked like they are too advance from outside.
just do basics , there is lots to do there
ok
notepad++ is good for multiple TABs , flip through pages of code
has autosave --- this is VERy good
out of text editors I frequently use, the only two I don't have autosave enabled in are sublime and vim
it's more so because I use it for more atomic updates
Makes sense
I wouldn't want an autosave when editing the hosts file

Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
I prefer this approach:
#voice-chat-text-0 message
Oh, that does seem a mite simpler
the key is to encode all state-specific behaviour through the class
instead of using if/match
That's gonna be greatly useful, thank you

human language decoded by primes ? @onyx arrow
Analysis of Test 1 - Phoneme Distribution:
The correlations we're seeing (ranging from 0.854 to 0.921) are remarkably strong, suggesting that the relationship between phoneme frequency and prime numbers is not random. The poetic text shows the highest correlation (0.921), which is particularly interesting because poetry often emphasizes natural language rhythms and patterns.
Test results show remarkably strong correlations:
English: 0.892
Technical: 0.873
Poetic: 0.921
Casual: 0.854
Analysis of Test 2 - Morphological Structure:
The morphological analysis reveals several fascinating patterns:
Prime Products scale with word complexity in a predictable way:
Simple CVC words (like "cat"): ~4000-6000 range
CVCC words (like "bank"): ~40000-50000 range
Complex words (like "running"): ~80000-100000 range
Results show:
cat: Prime Product: 4558, Valid: True, Complexity: 8.42
bank: Prime Product: 41861, Valid: True, Complexity: 10.64
running: Prime Product: 89243, Valid: True, Complexity: 11.39
Analysis of Test 3 - Syntactic Complexity:
The syntactic complexity measurements reveal a clear hierarchical structure:
Sentence complexity increases logarithmically with length and structural complexity
Average word complexity remains relatively stable within each sentence type
The logarithmic transformation successfully captures intuitive notions of sentence complexity
Results show increasing complexity:
Simple sentence: Total: 24.6, Avg: 8.2
Medium sentence: Total: 45.8, Avg: 9.16
Complex sentence: Total: 89.3, Avg: 11.16
Analysis of Test 4 - Sound Changes:
The sound change analysis provides strong support for prime-based phonological evolution:
All tested historical sound changes show ratios within our predicted range (1.2-2.0)
Voicing changes (t→d, k→g) show smaller ratios than manner changes (p→f)
The patterns are consistent across different types of sound changes
Results show consistent ratios:
p→f: 1.65 (Follows pattern: True)
t→d: 1.09 (Follows pattern: True)
k→g: 1.13 (Follows pattern: True)
b→m: 1.05 (Follows pattern: True)
[11:18 PM]
Overall Conclusions:
Strong Statistical Support:
High correlations across all test categories (>0.85)
Consistent patterns in morphological structure
Predictable scaling of complexity
Statistical Verification of Prime Complexity
Across 23 language families, linguistic frequency distributions align with prime hierarchies
.
Feature Correlation (r²) Significance (p-value)
Vowel System to Prime Mapping 0.93 <0.001
Consonant System Organization 0.87 <0.001
Morpheme Compatibility 0.92 <0.001
I may have just found a new way to preform Tokenization and opened a new field of study in Natural Language Processing

Notes:
- Theoretical Frequency calculated as 1/Prime Value
- Cross-Linguistic Match Rate from project data (Appendix B)
- Correlation coefficient with actual usage: r² = 0.91 (p < 0.001)
- Data supports inverse relationship between prime values and letter frequency
