question is - do you know about speech_rec "sr" where i can learn about it
i want full info of it
if you can answer me so
have you used it before ?
ya i have small ai that listen my voice "sr" but google api
thanks man 🫡
i am just new

Daft Punk Tribute
Can some1 help me please
Yes, hundreds are.
If you have a question, I'd recommend either asking in the python general chat, or to make a help ticket.
If it's a basic question, you may shoot, but I probably won't be able to help given I'm working on sth right now.
bro im just completing 50 msg for voice verification
"-"
btw bro do you know python
Don't spam.
This is spamming.
oh sry
You don't need to apologize, not to me specially. I'm just giving a heads up because if you spam and the mods or the bot catches you the voice verification will get delayed by two weeks or so.

also don't ping too many people at once, the bot gets upset at that sometimes
what does that mean ?

Hi
@alpine moon moby
and docker, the client, is open-source too
docker came into existence by getting open-sourced
@alpine moon have you heard of Oxide
since you mentioned hyperscalers
k8s is created by Google and made it open source to promote GCP eventually

redis's protocol is quite simple
part of its success
it's kind of "just TCP"
yes
it's source-available
use valkey
you can see the code
you can't use it sometimes
@wind raptor it's just a license thing
a lot of things on GitHub aren't open-source
@wind raptor quite sure that was Redis Stack
Redis license change was more recent
like this year
@forest zodiac epoll
!d select.epoll
select.epoll(sizehint=-1, flags=0)```
(Only supported on Linux 2\.5\.44 and newer.) Return an edge polling object, which can be used as Edge or Level Triggered interface for I/O events.
*sizehint* informs epoll about the expected number of events to be registered. It must be positive, or `-1` to use the default. It is only used on older systems where `epoll_create1()` is not available; otherwise it has no effect (though its value is still checked).
*flags* is deprecated and completely ignored. However, when supplied, its value must be `0` or `select.EPOLL_CLOEXEC`, otherwise `OSError` is raised.
See the [Edge and Level Trigger Polling (epoll) Objects](https://docs.python.org/3/library/select.html#epoll-objects) section below for the methods supported by epolling objects.
there isn't really state there

@wind raptor yield from actually
since you're delegating control
@wind raptor not with files
no
you can't
it's fake
it's a threadpool, always
aio_ is terrible, we don't even consider that
files are always readable and writeable, and that's the main problem
however, linux does not specify that
it's just how it is
it might get changed at some point
and io_uring is, quite explicitly, using a threadpool for file operations, it's just that the the threads are directly controlled by the kernel
@wind raptor it has HTML templates

I wonder if numpy CoWs it
like a temporarily shared state
maybe it also does that for copies
So, my approach and your approach somehow are similar in time consumption.
I guess this is another thing that I could port to rust?
how big is size?
Ahh, it's could be really large. Like 2**22 for instance.
It needs to work well for large number of qubits.
food anolgy works very well
benchmark on 2**8 at least
2**16 total is going to have at least some effect
and with size around 2**12 it'll get into near-second times for iteration

Can't join VC right now, but I do have a question, what's the cheapest option if I want to set up an amateur radio receiver? I do already have an arduino if that's necessary, but I don't know how well its working and don't have much accessories for it. Only professional-grade antennas I have available are from a broken USB wi-fi receiver. I do not have welding or soldering tools currently.
Would like to get some soldering equipment when I can
SDR ( software defined radio ) is great @steep vortex
cheap SDR dongles like RTL brand can get you up and running
Alrighty! Do I need to make my own antenna or buy one or anything? I actually remember this one cellphone app I had that used plug-in headphones as an FM radio antenna, but it was admittedly a bit low on the audio quality spectrum.
bruh
geeksforgeeks auto-translates
ew
long piece of wire and a alligator clip = antenna
gotcha
Yapping
How does antenna length translate to frequency range?
start simple - study - experiment
Alrighty
inverse I'd expect
although
that's for max/min
not max-min
maximum peak received signal when antenna system is tuned
idk how we measure

!d decimal
Source code: Lib/decimal.py
The decimal module provides support for fast correctly rounded decimal floating-point arithmetic. It offers several advantages over the float datatype:
I think it's just limited by how big an integer you can fit in memory 🤷♂️
Gotta love rust hehe.
I'm not sure whether it's built on top of the implementation of int or if it does its own thing.

C++ is quite easy to get wrong
especially by accidentally causing copying
in which case it doesn't crash but quite wasteful
well there are ups and down on both lang, but i would prefer starting with C then advance to C++

Which I refactored to separate aliasing from mapping to attributes.
I think I need to rethink how I'm doing this from_framework module.
I need to account for the gates which are unique to one framework in a way that doesn't make the code fragmented.
So, two things I need to figure out to not mess up the code. One is whether it would make practical sense to just wrap the U3, CX, and global phase gates in the sub classes, and have every other gate be shortcuts for them. Second is how I'm handling the conversion from other packages to qickit, considering the unique gates they may have.
Like watch my screen, lemme show you how cirq does it. Do a thumbs up whenever you're ready.
derived gates can be annotated to include their provenance
at which point it's just like debug symbols
also for deriving some gates you might lose precision when calculating, which is separate issue
you can also store it in a separate structure
each gate has an id, and that structure would just be a big mapping from ids to metadata
so it can be easily disabled/dropped
YOO ! I am watching @upper basin 's stream, and I see a lot of crazy stuff, I am not familiar with yet. 😂
How experienced are you if I may ask
Not much, our expert is AF.
He's the person whom I'm torturing at the moment.
I didn't ask anything.
is QUIKIT an extension ? My vsc left tab is always clear hahaha, dunno what all that is
oh ok
I said it's probably because you're unfamiliar with what I'm making, not the code itself.
Qickit, it's a python package for making quantum circuits. I wrap other existing circuit packages to reuse their work where possible for better functionality and focus on stuff I like myself.
AHHAHA

If you're interested, learn qiskit.
quantum computing use?
Qiskit is THE quantum computing package, yeah.
use of quantum computing?
It has the best support, so if you need help, they usually are fast with it.
Oh, it's basically an alternate computation paradigm using quantum mechanics. It's useful/advantageous if you can implement a computationally hard problem in form of vector matrix multiplication.
It's basically a powerful tensor contraction backend.
hope you can code a full adder :D
quantum computing only done in quantum computer
practical use of quantum computer in industry?
is help to optimize?
i heard it can calculate 2M calculations so fast
i simply add 2 half adders
💀
why is fast then normal computer
because it use electrons and protons, and also have chips, so it's faster. please verify for me @upper basin
Ehh, no. It's not faster, just more efficient when you scale up the problems. When you scale up beyond a certain threshold, classical computers just become too slow, so in comparison quantum computers seem faster.
But if you run two identical problems with identical complexity, quantum will be much slower.
what makes quantum differ from other computer?
oof 💀
You work with quantum mechanics, as opposed to classical mechanics.
Play Up by cardi b

@rugged root I recently found a weird example of docker containers being not entirely isolated

still no sound
You don't hear us talking?
running a temporary container influencing how future containers are ran
I dont bother talking since so many like to yack in here , what can I say that hasnt been said before @rugged root
there are breakout methods and if you give certain capabilities, it's not great
yeah, it's just a bit beyond what I'd normally expect
Does container have extra capabilities?
yeah, of course
I did not expect it to be done by running a container in the first place
the one I'm referencing is enabling qemu for docker
Isn't Qemu the online shop?
That's temu
Oh derp, right
Oh good, it was an actual mistake, I half expected it was some kind of joke and I was having an autism moment

discussing 16 bit ADC for SDR stuff and is it worth it @rugged root
--privileged is indeed quite privileged
It's worth it if you find it interesting
So.... check your privilege?
its like the old splitting of hairs for sound cards and how many bits , some like 24 bits - but I find even just SBlive 5.1 surround cards are plenty - do you have a surround ( BOOM BOOM ) setup for your gaming ? @rugged root
you can get a much higher spec card if its external
IF you arrange your speakers for surround in SQUARE formation then you can hear the bad guys behind you @rugged root
Is there a way to include shader files in a http request without the web browser deciding not to request them, without the client having to do anything? When I try to include webgl shader files, the browser rejects them for being a script file without a javascript mimetype
programming is like the piano , you have to practice everyday if you can
WASM maybe?
Only thing I can really think of is making a .bmp image containing the shaders, and then decoding it from that
I've never really heard of bundling shaders in that way
But I'm also the wrong person to ask. Now you have me curious
TO THE RESEARCH LAB
By that I mean my chair
That I'm already in.
My commute to the research lab is quite reasonable
The issue is I don't want it to be inline with the rest of my code, because then I have to either paste it into my HTML file every time I want to change it, or not have any syntax highlighting in it
Actually, wait, is there a way, in vscode, to mark a specific section of code to use a different language server?
That.... that's a good question
I'd just do it in a separate file first and then toss it over
Eh, alright, gonna be annoying when I have to change it but whatever

Don't hand containers priviledged rights?
very over priced but sometimes goes on sale , even saw it at Giant Tiger dollar store @rugged root
So it does seem to be possible, but it'll take some configuration. Trying to find good docs for it
Quantum is a whole lotta , what it is OR what it isnt
it's not about "why it happens?", it's about "why do it with a container?"
DWAVE used to have a , python layer to access there machine in early days - even allowed the public to get some free time to play on it , I assume had to prove how to use it @rugged root
It may all be off limits now , dont know
likely if your part of a university or such thing
rare example of lack of isolation being the intended behaviour
Im assuming , he makes software tools to make it easier for scientist to do things easier for Quantum @upper basin
@steep vortex Okay so I THINK I found something about it with the glsllint: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=dtoplak.vscode-glsllint The bottom of that page mentions having all that in a string literal. Another thing I saw was adding a comment above that block, something like //language=glsl
// language=glsl
const shaderCode = `
#version 300 es
precision highp float;
in vec3 position;
out vec4 color;
void main() {
color = vec4(position, 1.0);
}
`;
Not sure if that works, mind you. This was just some quick research
So, my work is on creating proper abstraction for quantum computing. Right now it's as if you're coding at machine level (logic circuit layer).
Given classical and quantum representation-wise are equivalent (any problem you can solve classically, you can solve quantum mechanically, and vice versa ignoring resource allocation and efficiency), my work is on creating an efficient abstraction where you'd write your code in a lang like C, and then have it compiled to quantum circuits (aka quantum machine code).
So, with this language, anyone would be able to write programs and run them on quantum hardware.
ohhh classic and quantum compatible , good way to test stuff and learn @upper basin

Hehe my bad.
"Patients were given daily doses of escitalopram, and at the end of an 8-week period, 40 patients were rescanned to measure the quantity of 5HT4 receptor in the brain. The mood of the patients had improved, but the team also found that the levels of 5HT4 receptor had dropped by around 9% possibly due to adaptations to increased levels of serotonin. When they asked these patients to undertake more cognitive tests, they found that their performance had improved, so that the less the 5HT4 receptor had changed the better the cognitive outcome. This phenomenon was particularly prominent for the ability to recall words."
