I just picked up a P51 for $240 usd shipped. I've loved ThinkPad's since the t61 and have been using them since then. My daily driver for the last 4 years has been the T440p which I've upgraded as much as possible. The T440p was purchased in 2020 for $190 usd and I put around $150 into it. Current leaving specs are I7 4702mq 16gb ram, and a whopping 4 tb of storage (it'll be going into the new thinkpad)
As for the new ThinkPad (P51) I got lucky and found someone on ebay that was taking almost 60$ less than everyone else that had just been listed. The specs are as follows; Laptop CPU: i7 7700HQ 2.80GHz GPU: NVIDIA M1200 SSD: 256GB RAM: 32GB Screen: 1080p.
When I receive the laptop I'll be doing all the basic tasks like cleaning it, replacing thermal pads / paste & replacing the battery.
Is there anything you suggest doing?

Does anybody know whether there were any big changes between 3.9 and 3.10 to do with how CPython deals with timestamps? I'm having issues with timestamp conversion but it's under a few layers of custom python bindings so I'd like to see if there's any changes I should be looking at before fully digging in. To be honest itโs difficult to say because of the layers of custom C binding we have that Iโm getting somebody to assist with debugging. We basically have times in the form of microseconds_from_epoch that are converted into C timestamps, in CPython3.9 this works fine but 3.10 creates misformed timestamps.
