jquery came out and fixes most issues with javascript
javascript fixed itself, now jquery is useless
Templating languages and html preprocessors like pug are popular
noone uses those anymore javascript was too simple so now we have React and its Reactive! (we definitely didn't already have event listeners and local storage)
