the thing about anime
the 'anime' style
it's just a way people tend to stylize their art
so, you can have your OWN type of anime
you just need to first
find something you're interested
like a niche in mangas
then you try to find artists that has
what I can call it
a specific thing that you like in them
let me pick a example
you can talk
I'm listening
Well
if you wanna play piano
first, learn how a piano works
they are divided by a bunch of
sections
that contains the notes
I think I clicked something
Are you talking?
I became deaf, sad
yeah
nop
actually
you need to learn the foundation of drawing
you can break down anything in drawing
into simple forms
Squares, Circles
Cilinders
Not sure if it's the correct name tho
but you get the idea
Then you learn how to work with these things
That's generally speaking
I highly recommend a channel from
Marc Brunnet
I think it's like that
He is one of my fav creators
lol
shame on you!
I hope this didn't get flammed by the mods
No no
the amount of messages
It's that okay to send here?
let me pick a more sfw then
It's from a artist I like
it's a nsfw one
but the fact is
the way he work, he does the whole process
with basics shapes
He shared some videos
you can search for on youtube tho
It's Balsamique his name
I like him mostly bc the art fits what I like
A cartoonish and a little of realism on it
Isn't entirely Anime/Manga style neither fully HQ
So, for learning how to draw, you can just try to find artists that fits what you like
If you like manga/anime, there's a bunch of them
I can recommend some books
you can find pdfs on internet
one sec
go for it
yup
If I tell you the way I work
don't laugh okay
I hate doing sketch on tablet tho lmao
I draw on paper, take a photo
send to my pc
open in the program
I like to use Paint Tool SAI to do the clean lineart
and krita to paint
If you wanna book to cover fully anatomical body
Louise Gordon - Anatomic Drawing
I used to learn how the muscles are attached to the body
For the constructive part, with basic shapes
Michael Hampton is one of the best
Figure Drawing Design and Invention
the name of the book
can you write the name here?
mikeymegamega
OH
I know him
what about ?
if I tell you
like a cute face
what composes a cute face?
what muscles of the faces need to move
stretch and something I don't remeber
the inverse of stretch
(English isn't my first language)
anyways, need to work
to create a cute face
these small things
you need to learn with time
drawing in long term is a long complex soup of things you learn with time
but when you learn the foundation for, it's basically the worst part done
if you lose motivation soon
I think you said that right?
something I just started doing for programming, is, Why this error happens?
When you understanding the problem, you understand how to solve then
Same applies for drawing, when you do something you don't feel that is right or good enough, search for a reference
and try to understand, why that isn't good enough to you
search for a reference
I mean
Draw them at the same time
wanna hear the something you wanna to hear
or the cruel truth
if I say the required amount of time
you need to get good at something in drawing
it probably require you to spend at least
some hours practicing that thing
for one year at least
I'm not saying you need to work 8 hours straight on only doing eyes
to get good on them
what can cut this amount of time by a huge amount
is learning how the things are made
let me see if I can do something useful
one sec
actually
let me just
pick something I'm doing
the photo on the left corner is the current character I made
I'm remaking her entirely to have a full body sprite
this pose is just a big wip
essentially
I just made a full body sprite
you can see I tried to maintain the geometrical things
like the arms as cilinders
the... lower part as big cilinders
what is the name
leg
basically that
but practicing doesn't need to be hard
or very tedious
pick a part of the body
study how you can simplify it
then you try to draw on different poses
angles
etc
One hour?
if you manage to work entirely on one hour
yeah you can
but if you don't consider finding things that will help you on
like, references
tutorials are good
you can watch them
then practice
just make sure that the artists has at least a little o credibility
not like me lol
I'm hitting 20 next month
and u?
hi Opal
There are two things I didn't bother in learning in english
One was, hours
The second was numbers
Eighteen?
19
Got it
well, then you're good to go
well, age for drawing is likely
really depends
[censored] no
if makes you feel better, I started in 2017? I think, and I'm not even that good
Like, learning how to draw
my brain for drawing is like Mist
I think it's like a TV on the back playing
but yeah, for drawing, you aren't late
think as, if you was in your 80
isn't late to learn how to draw
you're just, old
just pick something to call it a goal
to the end of this year
and try to achieve that
like, learning how to draw a body
when you hit the folds milestone
I wish you luck
i h a t e d r a w i n g c l o t h e s
10:08 Pm
I live in past
which hour?
6:30 am
wow
I'm not even awake this time
well, I do the same
I don't like the sun, it burns my skin
I literally don't take sun
I have D vitamin deficiency is what my last exam said
@glass inlet ๐
lol
I should take sun for brief minutes
The thing is, anything further than 1/2 minutes
I start getting red like a sea crab
I'm too white is what they say
literally burn lol
that's why I avoid taking sun
lol, I probably got that
during the pandemic?
remember the Covid-19?
the period where everyone was in quarantine
I basically stayed in home for two years
without going out for nothing
literally nothing
well, probably during that, I got that problem
not sure if, taking sun periodically will fix that
yeah probably
or I just need to use
Sunscreen
I had to use that anyway
My mom said to me to use when I was going outside
I just, forgot outside ever exist
Cat Lovers, I'm into it
Wild Kitty, that's a name
do you remember the mike something something? right
...no?
@bleak sleet
mega mega I think
he does something I really dislike
called messy sketchs
not that
he put a lot of information
in something
did you ever had the feeling of
when you draw something
when you trace a lineart
the sketch seems to be better
than the lineart?
it's bc
when you look at the lineart
your brain is basically seeing what is more interesting
so the sketch has more information than need, and your brain only focuses on the part it's good for the brain
but when you do the lineart, you do and your brain doesn't see what it was on the sketch
when you do too messy skecthes
your brain has a lot of information that's good on the interpretation
but when you need to clean that up
you get more work to do and in the end
doesn't feel that great
if you have a long term doing that, you're basically accustomed to that effect
that's why I avoid too much messy
i'm pretty sure, Marc Brunet covered that
he has like
10 years?
he worked for...
fubk I don't remember the name
no
it was for a companion?
LET ME FIND IT, one sec
i think Blizzard is the damn name
didn't heard
sorry
I am
I wonder how good am I speaking, my writing isn't that good
It's normal that the column does a crack
when I stretch?
vertebral column
that's why I hate PT sometimes
it's fubbing spine
don't know... my low back(lumbar curve) sometimes just
lock ?
get stuck?
freeze?
basically
like when you're going out of the bed
and just, bam
you can't move your spine
a sharp wave of pain crosses your body
I assume I have a back of a 90 old man
I will eventually
I should do checkups from 6 to 6 months
but being a adult is very
annoying
yeah, for like half a second
and if I tried, Basically a immense pain
hit hard
or buy a wheelchair
that's a problem for the future me
now I need to stop procrastinating on drawing
C++ ?
maybe the Charizard dude?
What?
I mean, for the guy who was asking about the other dude
What What?
I'm considering learning C++ because now (as of C++20) it has this:
https://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/language/constraints
You talking about me when I am not here
someone said about a guy who was there, I asked if was you the person who wasn't here
What's the main use of a constraint?
similar to trait bounds in Rust
never used Rust ๐ฎ
requires a template argument to satisfy certain conditions, implement certain methods, etc.
I think it was, in limited capacity, in C++ before C++20
but not sure
got it
also, I saw the hash
I tried searching about it but, did python has a inner function inside classes to set a custom hash when you assign a instance as key inside a dict?
as far I searched, Python didn't had anything that could do it
and the __eq__* I think and the other doesn't work to do that
!e
class Pair:
def __init__(self, first, second):
self.first = first
self.second = second
def __hash__(self):
return hash((self.first, self.second))
def __eq__(self, other):
if isinstance(other, Pair):
return self.first == other.first and self.second == other.second
else:
return NotImplemented
d = {Pair(1, 2): 3}
print(d[Pair(1, 2)])
print(hash(Pair(1, 2)))
@vocal basin :white_check_mark: Your 3.12 eval job has completed with return code 0.
001 | 3
002 | -3550055125485641917
hash is needed for dict because the latter is implemented as a hashmap
if __eq__ and __hash__ are implemented correctly, a == b implies that hash(a) == hash(b)
yeah, I tried implementing that
But I think due the program I was using
the memory address wasn't the same after re-opening
reloading
Or i just did wrong
I think
hello
well, the name doesn't help
also it's expected from __hash__ to always return the same value for the same instance (if __hash__ is implemented for the class of that instance)
let me create a test here and see if I did something wrong
!e
from random import random
class Wrong:
def __hash__(self):
return hash(random())
key = Wrong()
d = {key: 123}
print(d[key])
@vocal basin :white_check_mark: Your 3.12 eval job has completed with return code 0.

**{i: i for i in range(10000)}
my mind broke in this part
I remember, what is this, and what stands for, I don't remember the name
but, what is the ** for ?
dictionary comprehension:
{i: i for i in range(10000)}
I don't remember how ** is called
I mean, it's used for unpacking kwargs
but, the use in **{a: for a in range(5)}
never used dict comprehension tho, only list

hello
oh nice

its 10:34 for me but im not talking because im vibin and coding
i will cya later @somber heath
@teal tulip ๐
๐
yeah i just joined thats why
im in desperate need of help
i got a school project due at 12pm and in short i have to make a snake game but everytime i get a score of 10, a question shows up on the screen
in an hour
i made the snake game completely i was just wondering if anyone knew how to make like the program stop for a moment and make a question pop up
im assuming i cannot
screen share
yes
python, turtle
its for a tech class so a question on the lines of "what is the most used social media?"
yea but it needs to be an app and i've been having trouble making the
snake game pause
but after the text box comes up
it doesnt start again
if head.distance(chip) <20:
def ask_question():
wn.textinput("What is the password?")
x = random.randint(-290,290)
y = random.randint(-290,290)
food.goto(x,y)
heres the code for after the snake touchs the head
i just dont know where to input it
the text.input
ok ill try that
ok should i approach this like along the lines of
if score = = 10:
turtle.textinput(question, what is the most used social media?)
something like that
would i need to make a variable for the question to make it eaiser?
is an if function functional here?
im brand new to coding forgive my lack of knowledge im trying to figure this out
user_input = turtle.textinput('window title', 'question text body')```
@main plume ๐
Okay I got the text to show up after a score of 10 the text box shows and if the question is correctly answered it continues
what is the end function example 50 is the end
Thank you by the way
yes
import sys
sys.exit()```
after python if i want to get into game development which language would recommend
C#
if score == 10:
user_input = turtle.textinput("Question #1", "What is the most used social media?")
if user_input == "Facebook":
after this how would I make the program continue this is the problem i was running into
because the text window isn't closing
yes
i am
wn.mainloop()
it's weird because im incoperating a text pop up inside of a game and they're meant to both work at the same time
is there no way to make the window close any line of code?
is there no way after the user inputs facebook
the window can close

line 115 my indent isn't correct either for some reason
i tried fixing that
Okay so I added this
if score == 10:
user_input = turtle.textinput("Question #1", "What is the most used social media?")
if user_input == "Facebook":
score*2
but the question continues repeating itself
you'll see
the wn doesn't effect it
break

if score == 10:
user_input = wn.textinput("Question #1", "What is the most used social media?")
if user_input == "Facebook":
score*2
break
(score*2 does not do anything)
yea i noticed
@somber heath i need a collaborator. app 70% done. text to video. let me give u equity lol
๐
need to fix that
yes haha
215
do you do frontend dev at all?
also np
oh
uh oh
did i break one
uh ohhhhh
the break isn't working should i try the sys
i will give you 500 handshakes for help opal
but wouldn't that close the whole program
should i try a wn.update()
the wn.update removed the text window but the snake loses control so do I retype the snakes control (the w,a,s,d part)
!paste

heres what im at so far
yeah im just going to leave it
and let the next question at
20
30
40
etc
after the question/text closes the snake controls dont function
im not sure why
is that part of the code not in the loop?
okay i did it the i just recalled the wn.onkeypress
now i can just repeat the code 5 times with 5 questions
right
okay i understand so like
make a variable
for all that
im going to use the random function to make the questions randomized each time after all it is a game if still a poor one

Certainly! The integral you have written is a very famous one known as the Gaussian integral. It appears in various areas of mathematics and physics.
To solve this integral, we can use a technique called completing the square. Let's go through the steps together:
Step 1: Start by rewriting the integral as follows:
Step 2: Now, let's complete the square in the exponent. We can rewrite as :
Step 3: Next, let's make a substitution. We'll introduce a new variable, , which means . The limits of integration will remain the same since we are integrating over the entire real line:
Step 4: Now, let's evaluate the integral. The integral of the Gaussian function, , is a well-known result in mathematics and is equal to the square root of . Therefore, the integral becomes:
So, the value of the integral is .
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

ugh.. one guy randomly uses php to make his website and the entire web gets covered in php
a testament to how impressionable web devs are
Only reason I'm even thinking about it is because our work site is in WordPress
And php isn't a terrible language. Lots of modern changes and stuff, too
They actually added typing
You can even write ray tracers in php, super versatile
shh
Oh huh, PHP also has magic methods
Interestingly, they're just __method() rather than __method__()
That's interesting
Wonder what other languages have magic methods
I think Ruby has them too.
how far do you go with understanding things as magic method?
like, at which point is it just operator overloading?
In my mind, they're a part of the base class object that every new class inherits from (unless explicitly done otherwise) that can be modified. Operator overloading is specific to the operators like + and -
there are many languages that allow you to override operators and the like, but i'd say magic methods have to be a named override to manipulate the built-ins of the language?? not sure if that definition is the best
At least that's my personal definition, not sure if that's accurate or not
hmm, so if its interface based, like you use a interface for this, does it count?
No, not to me
a interface can be built in too
but you build it
same as you implement a function
Just got my first paycheck of the year. Pay is now $21/hour. Will be curious to see how much that helps
that sounds pretty cheap still for what it sounds like you do
heres a fun one with operator overloads: Squirrel, a small scripting language used in the source engine.
Movin on up ๐
It's only up from here
Like Valve source?
yup
I think operator overloads CAN be a part of or implemented as magic methods, but they aren't always the same
But to me, it's like how Python classes specifically inherit from Object
And modifying some of those that everything plays ball with
so the way C# does it doesnt count?

same function?
I think so. Give it a go.
Typical stack overflow answer lol
No worries. I'm heading off too cya ๐
i just need help with my django code can you help me?
Depends on what it is. I've only done a bit of Django. Was not a huge fan.
What is the problem?
I can hear you btw
If you are using relative imports, they won't work across apps
Hmm, not sure with Django. I think the apps run on their own level and don't use the project directory

The superb fairywren (Malurus cyaneus) is a passerine bird in the Australasian wren family, Maluridae, and is common and familiar across south-eastern Australia. It is a sedentary and territorial species, also exhibiting a high degree of sexual dimorphism; the male in breeding plumage has a striking bright blue forehead, ear coverts, mantle, and...

i just posted it mate, thankyou
@whole bear ๐
yeah i started on C so carried on using that formatting
!f-string
Creating a Python string with your variables using the + operator can be difficult to write and read. F-strings (format-strings) make it easy to insert values into a string. If you put an f in front of the first quote, you can then put Python expressions between curly braces in the string.
>>> snake = "pythons"
>>> number = 21
>>> f"There are {number * 2} {snake} on the plane."
"There are 42 pythons on the plane."
Note that even when you include an expression that isn't a string, like number * 2, Python will convert it to a string for you.
!d dataclasses.dataclass
@dataclasses.dataclass(*, init=True, repr=True, eq=True, order=False, unsafe_hash=False, frozen=False, match_args=True, kw_only=False, slots=False, weakref_slot=False)```
This function is a [decorator](https://docs.python.org/3/glossary.html#term-decorator) that is used to add generated [special method](https://docs.python.org/3/glossary.html#term-special-method)s to classes, as described below.
The [`dataclass()`](https://docs.python.org/3/library/dataclasses.html#dataclasses.dataclass) decorator examines the class to find `field`s. A `field` is defined as a class variable that has a [type annotation](https://docs.python.org/3/glossary.html#term-variable-annotation). With two exceptions described below, nothing in [`dataclass()`](https://docs.python.org/3/library/dataclasses.html#dataclasses.dataclass) examines the type specified in the variable annotation.
The order of the fields in all of the generated methods is the order in which they appear in the class definition.
im here
ah, i thought by returning the strings it would output correctly, as it was confusing with my spec only telling me to overwrite the getters
is it possible to do it in the child class without passing arguement so it can only ever be those values
okay thankyou for your help, im gonna have to go, youve been helpful ill sort it
