svn?
(it's another version control softwate like git)
NO
(it actually sucks, but for the joke)
looks simple
just store the digit [d], and do a loop for d times?
if its 5, loop 5 times, get the value there
SVN was the Git alternative back in time, (the time of Linus trovald, that's why he created Git)
because he hated it

how to get stream privileges?
@pulsar meteor try out Caves of Qud if you like ascii games
Streaming permissions are given out at administrator/moderator discretion. Typically you will be in voice chat and a moderator joins. You would then state your desire to stream, what you want to stream, and if the admin/mod in question would mind granting you the permissions to begin streaming, which expire after about five minutes, but the stream can persist beyond that point.
mhm
You're asking them to watch you stream, and they don't have to grant you it at all.
I might even have Vlad's blood in my bloodline

Hey @whole bear!
It looks like you tried to attach file type(s) that we do not allow (.zip). We currently allow the following file types: .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .png, .mp3, .wav, .ogg, .webm, .webp, .flac, .m4a, .csv, .json.
Feel free to ask in #community-meta if you think this is a mistake.

!code
Here's how to format Python code on Discord:
```py
print('Hello world!')
```
These are backticks, not quotes. Check this out if you can't find the backtick key.
i make run , but they have not any code
You've created the function, but you haven't called it.
!e ```py
def func():
print("Hello, world.")
func() #This is the call of the function```
@somber heath :white_check_mark: Your 3.11 eval job has completed with return code 0.
Hello, world.
Your function takes a parameter.
So.
!e ```py
def func(arg):
print(arg)
func("Hello, world.")```
@somber heath :white_check_mark: Your 3.11 eval job has completed with return code 0.
Hello, world.
def print_hi(name):
print(f"hi, {name}")
will do nothing until you actually call it
you can call it by running
print_hi("mahmud")
assuming that your name is "mahmud"
so you'd have to write
def print_hi(name):
print(f"hi, {name}")
print_hi("mahmud")
The parameter is arg. It is a variable, a reference to an object, that lives and dies within the function execution.
@somber heath
"Hello, world." is the argument
thank
Which is given to that parameter

@warped raft You good, bro? We can hear you having a conversation.

Yoo, is there a way in python to make a base file that has all the imports need to run the main function? and then only that specific file in your main file?
I'm not sure I follow your meaning.
so i have alot of import in my main file, i want to put all those import in one base file en then call that base file
will my import then still work?
My suggestion would be to import as needed per module.
ah ok to bad
If a function in a module needs math, import it in that module.
If that module imports another module that uses numpy, that another module should import it. The first module doesn't need to know about it.
yh so this i a small part of the list
from typing import Any, Dict, List
from responses.emptyResponse import EmptyResponse
from responses.selectResponse import SelectResponse
from responses.selectMoreResponses import SelectMoreResponses
from responses. userResponse import UserResponse
from responses.usernameResponse import UsernameResponse
from interface.IResponses import IResponse
from interface.IActions import IActions
from services.userService import UserService
from services.sessionService import SessionService
from helpers.initializer import ShowUsers
i wantend to put all these statements in a separate file
So as to avoid imports in each module?
yes
Yeah, that won't fly.
🙏🏽

i've never been on a train

display: none;
/* rest of CSS code */
}
</style>

Sukkot is a Torah-commanded holiday celebrated for seven days from the 15th day of the month of Tishrei. It is one of the Three Pilgrimage Festivals (Hebrew: שלוש רגלים, shalosh regalim) on which those Israelites who could were commanded to make a pilgrimage to the Temple in Jerusalem.
The names used in the Torah are Chag HaAsif, translated to "...

6.10.2. Membership test operations
The operators in and not in test for membership. x in s evaluates to True if x is a member of s, and False otherwise. x not in s returns the negation of x in s. All built-in sequences and set types support this as well as dictionary, for which in tests whether the dictionary has a given key. For container types such as list, tuple, set, frozenset, dict, or collections.deque, the expression x in y is equivalent to any(x is e or x == e for e in y).
For the string and bytes types, x in y is True if and only if x is a substring of y. An equivalent test is y.find(x) != -1. Empty strings are always considered to be a substring of any other string, so "" in "abc" will return True.
This is called variable unpacking. It's what I'm doing on the for loop line.
!d csv
Source code: Lib/csv.py
The so-called CSV (Comma Separated Values) format is the most common import and export format for spreadsheets and databases. CSV format was used for many years prior to attempts to describe the format in a standardized way in RFC 4180. The lack of a well-defined standard means that subtle differences often exist in the data produced and consumed by different applications. These differences can make it annoying to process CSV files from multiple sources. Still, while the delimiters and quoting characters vary, the overall format is similar enough that it is possible to write a single module which can efficiently manipulate such data, hiding the details of reading and writing the data from the programmer.
Stdlib.
I know that k and v are separate variables. I understand. I'm just trying to separate the instances of v from k and v that resemble k

Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.

I'm sorry. It would seem I'm not available to assist you at the moment. You can blame @whole bear. 🙂
can we please call
this will take only a few minutes
and will take hours via text
@whole bear I've put up with your attempts to piss me off me when it's just in regular conversation, but when I'm trying to assist people, I'd appreciate a level of distance from you. Is that fair?
@whole bear Further interference won't be tolerated. Is that understood?
yea im pretty good
o okk
@whole bear See, what you did just now, that I don't mind. It's just when you're doing it while I'm helping someone.

i like how auntie annes tastes like diabetes in every bite sometimes
oh ok so not now, i need to a bit more time until i can get the roles to speak
yes!!
hello
im like a beginner in python and i just started coding
Congratulations.
so y i was wondering if anybody can help me on getting better, i have some problems in which i litterly have no idea how to do
thank you 🙂
i think the community is very open to helping one another!!
its not a hard problem is just all the basics 🙂
Well, I'll often direct new learners to Corey Schafer's YouTube. He has a few Python playlists.
i use codecademy
how old are you sohaib?
18
discord is acting up
What's new?
y?
nothing was just guessing how old you are now that you're starting your coding journey
yea ik coding at 18 is a bit late
shouldve been doing it since i was a kid
thats fine
Programming is a world of possibilities and magic and wonder, Charlie!
not so much, uni has been really hard on me cuz i dont know how to code and im in comp sci 😭
beep boop
felt
while there are other ppl who knew how to code and so it wasnt an issue for them
It takes time and a lot of feeling like you're lost at sea without a rudder
oh gtg ;-;
as long as you have the dedication you can do it!
Or bashing your head against a window like a fly next to an open door.
i'm from the philippines so it's 9 pm here
Duuuuude, I JUST got back
me too 😮
@frosty star wbu
🦘
Oh, saw a ringtail possum, today.
ooo specifically what are they
the internet??
its a good place bro
yea thats beginning stuff lol
That's friggin' amazing
I advise you to use internet
Malaysia
you're assigning hello() to nothing
hello returns a value
and you're using it as a void function
or an "effect" function
Oh, and power to the fellow IT monkey
is there a problem with just calling the procedures
so im stuck in these sort of problems
No? But that's useless
All you have to do is pick up small, tiny pieces of information.
Write a Python function called alphaNote that takes a value as input (a real number from 0 to
real number from 0 to 100, inclusive) and returns an alphabetical note. No need to check if the
value is 0 to 100 at this time. For this question, we assume that it is. We will
check this for Question 3.
Add the type contract (guess it yourself) in the beginning.
A+ 90-100
A 85-89
A- 80-84
B+ 75-79
B 70-74
C+ 65-69
C 60-64
D+ 55-59
D 50-54
E 40-49
F 0-39
and heres my answer:
''''
On va
vérifier ça pour Question 3.
Ajoutez en commenatire le contrat de type (devinez-le vous-même).
Utilise la correspondance suivante (de uOttawa):
A+ 90-100
A 85-89
A- 80-84
B+ 75-79
B 70-74
C+ 65-69
C 60-64
D+ 55-59
D 50-54
E 40-49
F 0-39
'''
def alphaNote(note):
if note >= 90:
print("A+")
elif 85 <= note <= 89:
print("A")
elif 80 <= note <= 84:
print("A-")
elif 75 <= note <= 79:
print("B+")
elif 70 <= note <= 74:
print("B")
elif 65 <= note <= 69:
print("C+")
elif 60 <= note <= 64:
print("C")
elif 55 <= note <= 59:
print("D+")
elif 50 <= note <= 54:
print("D")
elif 40 <= note <= 49:
print("E")
elif 0 <= note <= 39:
print("F")
alphaNote(30)
I mean its fine to use print(hello()) for example, but they just use hello()
It doesn't matter if you "don't know enough". Just keep learning.
thats how uni is lol
@peak jay السلام عليكم
damn for my uni an A is 92-100
wa alaikum salam
I thought uni is harder than this
for my uni we had the same but my school we had 95-100 A xD which was fun
we just started a month ago lol
now heres the question im stuck in
@peak jay You want to investigate dictionaries.
Write a Python function called alphaNoteVerif that uses the
function from Question 2, but before it does it reads the keyboard to take the final numeric score and
checks that the value is from 0 to 100 (including 0 and 100). If this is not the case, it asks the user to
reintroduce the note, even several times, until the value is in the expected interval. We make the
the user gives an integer or a real number, no need to check this for the moment.
The function must call the alphaNote function of question 2 and display a message with its
result. It must also display the message: "Failed" if the score was "E" or "F", or the message
"Pass" for other values. The type contract is () ->None.
heres what i did
def alphaNoteVerif():
note = float(input("SVP entrez la note (de 0 a 100):"))
while note <= 0 or note >= 100:
note = float(input("SVP entrez la note (de 0 a 100):"))
alphaNote(note)
print(alphaNoteVerif())
x = print("La note alphabetique est:", alphaNote(note))
print(x)
but idk how to do the rest
wow nice
france 👌
huh
why do I feel you live in morroco
who me?
yeah
hmm....syria?
nope
oh I'm not from earth
do u live in morocco?
nope
where do u live
@peak jay All functions that complete, return.
If nothing is explicitly returned by the time the function is finished, the object None is returned.
i dont live in morocco but i can tell one thing, im from morocco
some foreign planet, called %U$*(%U$((#, it might seem like random symbols but that's just because you're "human"
originally
!e py v = print("abc") print(v)
@somber heath :white_check_mark: Your 3.11 eval job has completed with return code 0.
001 | abc
002 | None
oo so Im right
oh so i need to return the function
because morroco people are famous with talking arabic and french, idk why
i didnt even speak in french
how did u guess
your code?
here
oh yea loool
Perhaps. You may also wish to look at the prints in the other function.
true HAHHA
i didnt print anything in the other function
def alphaNote(note):
if note >= 90:
print("A+")
elif 85 <= note <= 89:
print("A")
elif 80 <= note <= 84:
print("A-")
elif 75 <= note <= 79:
print("B+")
elif 70 <= note <= 74:
print("B")
elif 65 <= note <= 69:
print("C+")
elif 60 <= note <= 64:
print("C")
elif 55 <= note <= 59:
print("D+")
elif 50 <= note <= 54:
print("D")
elif 40 <= note <= 49:
print("E")
elif 0 <= note <= 39:
print("F")
this is the first function
and this is the 2nd function
def alphaNoteVerif():
note = float(input("SVP entrez la note (de 0 a 100):"))
while note <= 0 or note >= 100:
note = float(input("SVP entrez la note (de 0 a 100):"))
alphaNote(note)
print(alphaNoteVerif())
x = print("La note alphabetique est:", alphaNote(note))
print(x)
anybody here moroccan
def func():
return "abc"

print(result)```is often better than```py
def func():
print("abc")
