to me, "research question" means "hypothesis", as opposed to "thesis", which means "thing I intend to prove"

with a hypothesis, your goal is to determine whether it's true or false, with a thesis, your goal is to convince others it's true

In that case, a thesis should be a statement of something that you want to convince people of. So you do need to pick one side or the other - either that identity does or does not affect a person's freedoms - and state that.

ok - assuming this is a persuasive essay, the thesis is usually your first sentence, or at least a sentence in your first paragraph.

I think an interesting direction to take this in is to think about some specific ways in which someone can be deprived of freedom - being deprived of leisure time by being forced to work multiple jobs, being deprived of liberty by being imprisoned, being deprived of autonomy by being kept out of a career that you're interested in, or by being forced into a career like "housewife", or things like that. Pick an interesting way that someone can be deprived of freedom, and then talk about the ways that a person's identity can lead to, or away from, that deprivation of freedom

it's also worth noting that some of these ideas are easier to research than others. It's easier to research a question like income or imprisonment because there are quantitative figures published for each of those that can be referenced. It's harder to research a question like ability to choose your own career, because there's less hard data on it.

In case someone here is an Ubuntu expert...

I have an iMac with Ubuntu in its internal HDD and MacOS in an external SSD. When I first installed Ubuntu in the internal HDD, the MacOS startup chime would play and I would press the Option key to boot to the MacOS. However, after maybe 1-2 weeks, the startup chime won't play anymore and pressing the Option key won't do anything. I was thinking Ubuntu has completely taken over the startup process.

So my aim now is to activate the GRUB menu and list (along with Ubuntu) MacOS in an external SSD, and Time Machine in an external HDD. The issue I'm trying to solve currently is that os-prober does not list MacOS. I saw this entryhttps://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1897311#p1897311 in a forum and decided to run grub-mkconfig.

Running grub-mkconfig generated a config file but running os-prober afterwards still did not list MacOS.

In case it helps, I can give the output of fdisk -l !

Any tips, hints, or guidance are greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, googling "os-prober not detecting Mac OS in external SSD" is giving a lot of irrelevant links as far as I can tell.

i find it more convenient than grub. it detects efi better than grub tbh. but grub has more features like LUKS and encryption which i think refind lacks (not sure) but if you arent bothered by those stuff then it should be fine

Well, in the original sum i goes from 0 to n, so in the integral i/n goes from 0 to 1.

how 2 [27x^3 + 5x + 2] = 2*(27/4 + 5/2 + 2)
The indefinite integral of 2 [27x^3 + 5x + 2] is 2 [27/4 x^4 + 5/2 x^2 + 2x], so the definite 0-to-1 integral is it at 1 minus it at 0 - and it's 0 at 0.
