But it really is super concerning that growing up there were dedicated websites/spaces/etc. for kids to have so that there were basically "kid play places" for them to not encounter dangerous things online immediately. And at some point those slowly stopped existing, and companies stopped putting money into it all

They used to do this. Literally starting sort of when the ipod touch was invented, and even into iphones and other smartphones being more popular over time they started to adapt games from websites into apps.
These became basically dumb little things that got super popular in schools(and got things taken away bc kids can be dumb) to the point it was casual as "Do you play fortnite" to ask your friend about it.

My working answer is a two-parter
A.) that live service games filled in the gap so well, its become cheaper to integrate there then build the infrastructure from the ground up (aka "just put the character in Fortnite")
B.) because making kid-spaces now, would be subject to so much that even doing it 70% correct would not satisfy many people (ex. Roblox)
I would like to see that, don't get me wrong, but I also see the future where, even if 95% of the platform has no issues, it only takes that 5% to paint it a way
and Im not sure societally what the answer to that would be

I saw a video sometime back, and I think I linked it as well here in the server. How it took alot of money, work, and focus to produce a safe space for kids entertainment so kids had something for them to watch and you knew from the get go that it was going to have variety for all kids of various ages(but still safe) and control that space so nothing poisoned the well or something snuck in that wasnt appropriate.

I think that helped alot in some sense because that meant kids had some contact but not too much that it became dangerous. And largely it was also still encouraged kids also talk to their friends or peers about shows and movies so it cultivated a more local sort of connection. And that made it alot safer for parents since if two kids made friends over watching Fosters or FOP or whatever, you could at least ideally know that "oh thats [parents] kid, I can trust their family"

Primary Games, Miniclip, Funbrain, Poptropica, Webkinz, CoolMath flippin' Games, Y8 [though it's more teen oriented. Mario junk was the only thing I cared about on there lol], Andkon. Browser games were my entire childhood!
And that's not even going into all the sites revolved around the kids channels, or even CD-ROMs (Jump Start my beloved!). I'm just glad stuff like Flashpoint (who's server I happen to be in) are keeping these games [and animations] alive after Flash kicked the bucket. While it's sad to see these websites go down with it, having everything in one convenient haven is still kinda awesome and puts into perspective how much of an impact these things had on the internet. Can't tell you how many Mario games I've curated in FP, at least half of them from Y8 on the WayBack Machine XD

I understand the comparison here, as Quagmire is the most common "sex pest" character within recent memory. Pepe was also one, but more with forced romance or at least its meant to come off as a very head over heels romantic towards anyone he sees that gets his attention.
I cant say Ive seen many cartoons with him involved but his attempts often include very of the era attempts at romantic gestures to get these women to fall in love with him immediately the way he fell in love with them.

Re-watching Garfield and friends and the Garfield show mainly realize how forgettable the songs from the Garfield show were

That also is a much more character progression plot and I think the only thing arthur did for him was show him he can be a good dad and a good parent to someone, he just has to learn how to handle that and its not so scary

The other issue I feel weird about this is youtooz mostly sells to teens and up generally to a point its more about nostalgic collectables and merch rather than aiming this at the kid audience the shows are rated for. TAWOG and Regular Show got new seasons. SU could be sold as nostalgic, same for AT even if we are getting more later. I think Chowder would just be nostalgia too at this point.

He got what he wanted. Neither him or Rick have any actual beef with each other but fans seem to still want him in the show so guess they need to have a big fight scene.
