I spent quite a bit of time being hyperfixated on this show and I can tell you it succeeded so well because its writing is based on the writers and creators basically taking humor from old comedy bits and basically understanding how to write humor

Most recently "Naked Gun" released and its in the same style as Airplane, even paying respect to the original "Police Squad!" that actor Leslie Nielson was known for at the time. Its a sequel in a way to the original show and Naked Gun movie series.

Caddicarus can give a far more extensive idea of the orange idiot but at his core, he's an experiment by Dr. Neo Cortex in the first game running to save his GF Tawnya(Tawna???) from Cortex's weird science. Second came N.Gin is a threat while Crash is being used by Cortex to collect specific crystals for his own science, the third game involves time travel somehow and im not entirely sure.

The only refrence to sonic was literally in development it was called "Sonics ass" due to the fact it had running like sonic but except from the side it was from the back so you stared at crash's backside more often

i think the biggest misconception of this show was that people blamed mindy kaling for it existing when mostly all she did was voice act the titular character. the show was created by a former SNL writer charlie grandy, a white guy, so it kinda explains why the humor is so... ass
