Yeah, that was about what I thought it’d be at this juncture. There’s still episodes 8 and 9 left, so it couldn’t have been what it seemed from marketing

Especially since 7 and 8 were part of the same episode idea originally but it got too big. So 8 will probably be more dedicated to lore dumping of a sort after that all and something about it will roll into episode 9 where they actually figure out if/how they can leave. That about tracks.

Also the Neon Genesis Evengelion influences are really kicking in towards the end there, || with the whole rejection of reality bit. Though, I wonder if Jax is Shinji, who is Kaworu? ||

When he said that messing with people’s brains too much wouldn’t go well, it cut to Kinger. What if it wasn’t just because of what he said? What if it’s because he’s an example? What if the reason Kinger is Like That is because Caine tried to mess with something about him to make him less dangerous to him, and it ended up corrupting his memory or whatever? Functionally giving him digital dementia. He might be the only one who Caine majorly tweaked with that didn’t abstract. ||

Seems that the goat Kinger is everyone's favorite character, and I'm glad to say I'm part of everyone!

I just really like how's he's the cool dad/uncle of the group, crazy or lucid. My major thing with him is that whenever he's in the dark and is able to concentrate again, he, in a weird roundabout way, still feels in character. He's still Kinger, just a more sane version. When he's more cuckoo in the head, it's not like he's becomes a completely different person. He's still nice and polite to everyone he encounters even when all his marbles aren't there. Makes him feel very multi-faceted.

Bonus points for being a seemingly healthy relationship. Well, before, y'know...

What's the reason for asking why everyone like tadc characters and what they like abt then?

I had finished rewatching the show and usually the best way for me to understand aspects I might have missed is to ask fans/the community. It helps me also maybe find some appreciation for other characters I might've found boring before.

I also generally wish there was more discussion as a fanbase or just as fans the way it used to be more openly done as I feel the internet has become more isolated to its own cliques and groups

I want to attempt to build or try to get people to talk more enthusiastically about something within the server because for the past year at least people have just been like "I saw this show! its good!" and then dont say anything else and we just move on from it.

I think it just struck a very specific chord with both old and young audiences that is unique. I can say confidently that Digital Circus is something I havent seen in terms of writing and story or at least the way the visuals/metaphors/etc are used that makes it stand out among the rest.

The way the Digital Circus took the internet by storm really is something to behold isn't it? Gooseworx's writing style is really compelling and throughout all her ups and downs, even though she might not touch the franchise again with a ten-foot pole, I say she did some damn fine work with this show.

I think whats also unique about it, or at least I think is interesting is that theres alot of open ended ideas to things outside of what is canonly stated/shown so theres space for people to have theories be plausible or just fill in the gaps themselves. Basically leaving some room for creative thought as to putting it together rather than the show outright telling you facts you cannot change.

Sometimes I think about the thing that was said where flawed shows or those with more vague writing tend to have bigger attention/fanbase because it leaves some room for the imagination of the fans to make up whatever they want.

Y'know, looking back, this may have come off as a bit too insensitive. If it did, then I apologize. As a black person, I'm definitely not a speaker for all other blacks, and they can feel however they want about this situation. If they let it slide, that's cool, but if they were put off by the whole thing, then that's just as valid.

I’ll be rambling a bit here before editing

I wish there was a way to communicate how the law of big numbers never really cares about the subject material of whatever it is. The statistical likelihood of having hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, who like or know of something and not be crazy is probably, virtually and practically 0.

You would be hard pressed to find any popular fandom that doesn't suffer from this. It's just that TADC is the hot one at the moment, but those people will go to the next thing next year and do the same thing. There's nothing in the show that enables that behavior. Those people were like that before TADC existed.

I can't co-sign painting the whole one way because of a few, because that has some very disastrous implications and quite frankly it's doomer talk. This show kinda defied the odds in many ways and I genuinely believe part of the only reason this is happening here is because of how popular it is juxtaposed against purity culture.

But to say it's the WHOLE fandom being good when debatably one of the biggest people doing this stuff is demonstrably not considered a fan, is defeatist behavior. Perhaps, there's just a lot of good people who just watch the show, maybe interact with a few tweets, buy some merch and move on with their life, and there's a smaller, chronically online crowd who, if TADC never existed, would've just latched on to whatever was in its place.

With this coming out months after Smiling Friends ending and the creators’ reasons for ending it sooner than expected, it’s made me realize that some creators would rather stay underground than become big time creators
