Current Forge Preferences:

AUTO_UPDATE=none
CHECK_SNAPSHOT_AT_STARTUP=false

Even with these settings (in my profile), Forge still shows the Update banner with the latest snapshot along the title bar, and Forge Adventure still prompts to install Snapshot updates

I have Forge installed on Windows where multiple users (different Windows user profiles) can run it. I definitely don't want Forge or Adventure prompting for snapshot updates, and even more I don't want my friends trying to install snapshot updates by mistake.

I'd like to prevent Forge from checking for updates and have that be the default for all users.

You could try to reset the settings and then re-select those options through Forge. I have the same settings selected as you and I don't have the update banner. I don't know about Adventure mode though, since I don't play it.

It prompts to install snapshot updates with a completely clean profile, no prior settings/ForgeData at all
