I'm passionate about language learning but I'm unsure whether I should pursue mandarin. I'm not really interested in the movies, TV or music, and the only thing I'm interested in is the language in and of itself, and reading stuff (newspapers, books, magazines, the internet, and maybe understanding online content like streams and social media stuff). If so, how would I go about this? Just learn hanzi? I already know a few traditional characters because I studied kanji at one point, and I learned the basics of pinyin and tones, even though I'm not too good.

hanzi is the basic composition of a sentence, and sentences are compositions of a passage, and passages are compositions of literature.
if you'd like to learn Chinese through reading,You have to begin with pinyin and tones, then hanzi, and after you know some hanzi, you can go on reading articles, novels and so on
Any good app just to learn pinyin and hanzi?
