Practice writing them by hand repetitively, like 15-20 times per character in a lesson. Handwriting creates more pathways in your brain associated with each character, so you will remember them more effectively.
Sounds a bit old school, I know, but that’s how lots of Chinese folks learn them from a young age, and that’s how I was taught to memorize them in university.
This is so important too. If you learn the radicals, then memorizing characters gets way easier.
copying texts is also a good idea if writing the same thing over and over gets too dull
