Is it a good idea to have a new channel for chatting in Mandarin using traditional characters only and have the current #華語閒聊｜mandarin-only be for simplified characters?

this has been brought up before and this was the response last time (i'm reposting it here as we archived the channel and i think it's a great response that addresses exactly why we haven't/won't split the channels up further):

traditional/simplified is ultimately up to preference (i don't see what's embarrassing about using traditional?) and the server was established with traditional chinese in the channel names, so we've just continued with that and have the simplified chinese in the channel descriptions for inclusivity or anyone who might need it.

Channel names are not meant to serve as reading practice - the rationale for writing them in Traditional Chinese is that native speakers who are more accustomed to reading Simplified are more likely to have had enough exposure to Traditional that they would be able to read the channel names, but Traditional Chinese users don't really get as much exposure to Simplified

The reason for adding Chinese channel names in the first place was to allow users who struggle to read the English channel names to navigate the server

Simplified Chinese being more friendly to beginners is also simply not true: Simplified Chinese is more friendly to beginners who are learning Simplified Chinese, and we mustn't forget beginners who are learning Traditional Chinese

Consequently, anything we do to help beginners must cater to both of these groups equally

For me both are fine but i think the majority of chinese learners here are simplified users though
