Error code 0 and unable to use CTRL+T

Hi, I installed Tacitus from the website and it has installed the dsound.dll file in: D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer 3 - Kane's Wrath\RetailExe\1.3
When I go into Kane's Wrath the startup splash says that the Tacitus menu can be opened using CTRL+T however it does not come up when I use the shortcut. Does for my friend.

I am able to login to multiplayer and see games and people however when trying to join my friend's game it does not work and gives the error message Failed to join the error code is 0. Same for my friend.

If I try to join another game it flashes the menu bar does nothing and gives no error message. Same for my friend.

I am running a static IP and have tested by putting my computer in a DMZ, no luck.

Hoping someone may have any ideas.

Most people play 1.2 not 1.3

if you used the installer and didnt touch anything else or do it manually then a dsound.dll file should be in RetailExe\1.2

Go to steam library, right click Kane's Wrath, Properties, in General scroll down to advanced launch params and add:

-runver 1.2

Launch game, Ctrl + T should show the tacitus menu

The lobby error code is because of different game versions. If you and your friend both do the 1.2 parameter above, you should be able to join your friend and play.

The IP address for both you and your friend must be a public IPv4 that is not shared or mirrored/copied across a network and you should be able to play fine

Thanks for the info. I can now connect to games however CTRL + T still does not bring up the menu. I had a look at Tacitus.log and it refers to reading settings from Tacitus.ini however the location it says it is reading it from doesn't contain that file. Could that be causing the issue?

It can. The installer should have placed it there. You can rerun the installer and see if its created

Tried reinstalling the game and reinstalling Tacitus. Still did not create an ini file any other suggestions?

You said that you checked RetailExe/1.3 but did you check the RetailExe/1.2 as well?

Yeah checked them all. No ini file, just the dll and the log. Also tried installing on my main drive.

C drive. I usually keep my games on my D drive. Thought being an older games it may have made a difference

I know from the past that where your game is installed can affect Tacitus

This appears to be an error code 0 problem rather than a tacitus installation issue

currently there isnt a clean fix of this problem although there might be one coming potentially in the next few days

both of you should still be able to join other people's lobbies just not eachother

Question, where did you find tacitus.log? I can't find my own.
