First question

What were the first steps you took to grow your bot?
when will top dot gee gee cereal be released?
To this: what were the most difficult obstacles on your way? How did you solve them?
How did you resolve/have you resolved infrastructure at scale VS cost? Also how/are you able to pay for the hosting/development cost?
At first development did you ever think that the bot would explode or was it just a regular passion project.
what is your opinion about topgg cereals
whats your opinion on gate locking features behind monetization.
Or better yet, just generall thoughts about bot monetization
When it comes to upgrading/implimenting new features, what is your mindset/action of plan?
Was there ever a stage where you wanted to quit, if so what was the reason?
How do you foster and retain a helpful community around your bot?
Also how did you realise you wanted to create your bot?
what is your favorite programming language?
PHP ✨ IS ✨ AWESOME ✨
How do you thing of about ideas for your bot
for tickettool, when it comes to big changes like updating crucial features, like when discord makes message content apply only for verified bots, do you plan to keep msg commands, move to slash, or just add both?
Not sure if I'm allowed to answer that or not, but Discord are mandating as of when their slash command update comes in that all bots be using slash commands. Even my own talks with staff they have said that all bots should be using slash commands by then and they may potentially penalise bots which don't comply to it. There's no definitive answer for whether or not bots will be allowed to use msg commands even as a convenience thing for users even if all their commands are already on slash commands.
Sorry if I'm not supposed to answer that, just thought it was something that had already been "answered" by Discord.
How to grow bot fast
What do you think about the discord’s new update in which they launched the new message content Intent and are asking developers to upgrade their bots to slash commands?
On a scale of 1-10 how dumb do you think that it is that Discord is making Message Content a priv intent?
What was your sanity like before developing bots and what is it like now?
what do you think about the new slash commands.
what motivated you to continue developing your bot?
Have you ever thought about selling your bot/business and moving on to the next big project?
what is it like to be the owner of a huge bot
where do the ideas come from to create new things that no other bot has?
how often do the support server mods touch grass
Do you earn most, if not all of your money through your discord bot? If say, tomorrow discord shuts down, what will you do?
What was your career before developing bots?
is bot your main income source? also how do you maintain many servers when deploying new update?
how are you still sane
when your bot was starting out, what level of experience did you have coding, and if you recieved any hate, what motivated you to keep on going
also nice reactions iara
What were your plans for your bots?
Please keep questions relevant to the topic
discord.py vs discord.js ??
Why did you make the bots?
How does a small bot initially grow in server size?
What makes a good bot for you?
what were the main difficulties / unique problems when scaling a large bot and what was your approach to solving those problems?
What the bot will do?
Do you think its more important to a successful bot to 1) have a good, unique idea 2) have it usable, easy and well-developed?
What are your tips for growing a new bot?
are you working on any bot atm? give hints plspsls
how did you not lose motivation to work on your bots
xavin's english is very good, how did you do that?
Use #general to discuss the Bot Developer Panel
Use this thread to leave your questions, do not use it to discuss
where do you host your bots?
What some tips to increase bot growth across servers
do you ever production test
how and at what point did you start learning how to code well and when did a small project turn into your main job?
do you prefer to work alone or with people, what (in your view) are the pros and cons to each
Was there ever a point where you thought about quitting because the project just seemed to get too big for you
Are you working on relating topgg on the metaverse? ive heard in some copypasta channel that discord's gonna be in the metaverse
what is developer panel :DD
You can write questions to big bot developers and they answer them in stage channel
Whats the first language you learned
what is your favorite host? (vps, or something)
ok then, how do you host your bot?
do you get virtual private server or you have your own servers at home?
are you going to stop the music bots like rythm?
what feature took the longest to make? what made it difficult?
Question for Xavin: What will you do if the same thing happens to your bot as with rhythm?
Has youtube tried to take option against Hydra ?
dou you do anything on other platforms?
do you ever feel limited to what discord bots can offer?
which coding language project do you prefer and which discord library? or custom lib
Do think the slash cmds are gud and more user friendly ?
thanks for the answers!
Do Hydra have any future projects?
will this be available to listen to later? I am a bit busy right now but it sounds interesting!
Its being recorded iirc
Yes, it's being recorded
Sweet!
battle eye whats your stack
how old are you?
cant wait to listen after
is there a next step for you guys? Do you think you could take your knowledge of programming and go further than discord bots?
Where will the recording be published?
Are you all solo devs or did anyone of you collab on the bot?
If yes, how did you approach the collaborator and how did it all play out?
We'll post it in #announcements later in the week
Ok thanks!
That's the question they're answering now
hey, are you using something like nextjs/remix for the website or you have your own custom server library?
My Discord died for a minute 😅
How much time it took when ur bots started gaining servers on their own and became popular
what will you do if discord take actions on your account/bot?
Are you using discord.js (or the largest libary for your language) or a self-written libary?
Where do you see yourself if your bot didn't exist?
Js or python?
What makes a good bot for you?
How do you feel about Discord adding their own in app bot discovery?
do you listen music when youre coding?
||if yes, spotify or youtube music??
||
What do you think about javascript and why it is the worst programming language? refer to the two compulsory readings
Question : Do you use multiple instances for a bot? For example, 1 bot using the same token to get the stats, 1 to handle commands, etc.
Question For iara ma'am
- When you made mimu alive and when it was new? How would you start if you have so many big bot developers in competition around you of same content as your bot like economy category? How would you keep your confidence high enough to continue your bot with development?
- How was those hard working days for you? Share some tips ?
Because most of developer nowdays stop developing their bot on their half way as they get worried about future of their bot!
Stuff you wish you knew when you started out?
Hey! For those just joining, thanks Discord for the notification delay
