It should be the first thing you do, if you're sending messages on discord first, or updating your database first topgg may repeat the request before you respond to it.

I've previously requested we add an idempotency token(to prevent this exact situation) to webhook requests, but it was denied for the time being. Hopefully we can add it later, so libraries/devs can check for repeat requests and prevent double giving rewards.
For now, you can create a pseudo-idempotency token by using the user id like a temporary idempotency token.

So, ground rules:

• You cannot use any of the data your bot collects from our platform for advertising or marketing purposes. Period. On or off platform, you cannot use any of the data you collect to sell ads.

• You cannot use our API tooling for advertising activity on platform. This includes server advertising. In a nutshell, this means: no ads in your commands, no ads or sponsored posts, no ads in your custom status, no "auth ads", no forcing people to join servers they didn't intend to join, no rewarding people for joining servers, none of that.

• No rewarding users for watching ads on an external platform. Telling users to click a link to go watch an ad is providing advertising on platform. If a link in your post exists solely for advertising purposes, and you're getting paid when people click it, that's using our platform for advertising.

Grey area/hard to enforce stuff:

• Providing rewards for upvoting your bot on top.gg. top.gg has video ads, and rewards developers for users watching them. That's news to us, and we're reviewing the situation. In the immediate term, providing rewards, such as temporary "premium" status or special embeds or in-game currency, for upvoting your bot or recommending your bot is fine.

Note that this applies to any similar bot promotion option. top.gg is the example, but just because it's not top.gg doesn't make it magically okay.

• Similar to the above, providing rewards for users who choose to use your web portal (which has ads on it). This is extremely hard to enforce for, and so, again, our strong recommendation is provide alternative means of unlocking that functionality, such as direct payment.

• Using a hosting provider that requires you, personally, to watch ads in exchange for hosting.

• Rewarding users for linking an external account or application (IE a mobile game you made, which has ads in it)

In any of the above cases, locking functionality behind an ad wall, IE requiring users to upvote your bot or click a link to access certain features, feels like crossing a line--you should provide an alternative means of unlocking that functionality, such as direct payment. Unfortunately, this is hard to enforce, but it's the stance that I think is the healthiest for right now. Massive shouts out to our community as always for making things nice and spicy.

Also note that just because it was sent by a Bug Hunter doesn't mean its an official stance from Discord themselves - unless an Employee said it, you should take it worth a grain of salt.

I haven't heard of any issues so far with Discord telling users they can't vote lock commands - even if we do offer a video ad to play before you can vote, its easily bypassable with adblockers or purchasing Top.gg premium.

How you choose to lock your commands (vote, premium, or otherwise) is up to you as long as you are following Discords official stances

My bot checks for UseApplicationCommands permission before executing each command. This would only trigger for admins/owners of the server because they're able to use slash commands even if they are disabled in a channel.
All of the commands in my bot are slash commands including /help but my bot got declined because of this.
Is this valid?

Hey! Is making a command that allows to send messages between servers allowed? I mean, they write a command and they enter a channel ID and then randomly get connected to another server that also wrote the command, they can choose to enter or not.
