A suggestion:

What top.gg have going on right now is very similar to the real world.
Few semi-monopolies control 95%-99% of the market, and while it is a "free-market" - the already huge bots have income they can funnel to not only advertise themselves, but to block other bots from advertising themselves. And they can afford crazy amounts that are near-impossible for newcomers to afford out of their own pockets.

Of-course the bigger bots, are of high quality, and many people know them, and the fact that they have an "advantage" is well earned and legitimate.
However it is stretching too (in many's opinion) far and to too great of an advantage, which almost completely blocks new and creative bots.

At the end of the day, the #1 priority should be the users - bot owners and people who use the bots - they should be displayed the best bots - and in the long run, this 100% aligns with top.gg's priority to sustain itself and make money.
However in the short run this might not be the case, and simply the bots that can afford the highest $ are being shoved into users.

While it is somewhat rare, every once in a while a truly unique new bot shows up, with a new concept / execution, that could really enhance users experience if they used it.
This will benefit top.gg if they could objectively spot such bots as the traffic to the site would increase! Thats because people will slowly feel and know that they will find the best bots everytime, instead of mee6 everytime. (no hate toward mee6, just an example)

So except for alot of theory - what do I suggest?
Perhaps consider some program, that requires bot owners to go through alot, maybe advertise alittle, and set some bottom filters, like a minimum of few hundreds / 1000 servers / etc..
Then once every week, show 1-2 bots like that, if any, on a dedicated place, maybe front page / etc.
These bots will be hand picked, and perhaps have to return some love to top.gg if successfull.

This is just a general idea, but I do think this will benifit top.gg and everyone in the long run.
Just takes abit of thinking ahead, belief and effort

I would even still charge some money for that, but I just think its a great path both for the platform and serious bot creators
