Chief Leland Stottlemeyer – Liberty City Police Department

Chief Leland Stottlemeyer is a seasoned law enforcement leader who has dedicated an extraordinary 45 years of service to the Liberty City Police Department. Beginning his career as a beat cop in one of Liberty City’s most challenging precincts, Chief Stottlemeyer rose through the ranks with unwavering determination, demonstrating exceptional leadership, tactical expertise, and a deep commitment to public safety.

Throughout his career, Chief Stottlemeyer has served in nearly every major bureau of the LCPD, from Homicide to Internal Affairs, before moving into high-level administrative and strategic roles. His decades of experience have earned him a reputation as a firm but fair leader, known for his no-nonsense approach to policing, his insistence on accountability within the force, and his ability to maintain strong relationships with city officials and community leaders.

As Chief of Police, Stottlemeyer oversees the entire department, guiding thousands of officers and staff across Liberty City. His tenure has been marked by significant reforms aimed at modernizing the department, improving officer training, and strengthening community relations. He has been a vocal advocate for ethical policing standards, transparency in operations, and initiatives that prioritize both crime prevention and community trust.

Chief Stottlemeyer has received numerous awards for his service, including lifetime achievement commendations, bravery citations, and civic leadership honors. Despite his long career, he remains deeply connected to the day-to-day realities of policing, often engaging directly with precinct commanders and visiting the neighborhoods his department serves.

With 45 years of distinguished service, Chief Leland Stottlemeyer stands as a pillar of the LCPD—an embodiment of dedication, resilience, and the enduring mission to protect and serve the people of Liberty City.

# polar plaza Who is the Chief of Police in Atarashii Momo?

Chief Asahi Suzuki joined the force in 2025, he started at the Yousei Police Department on Kokoro Island. However, he quickly rose the ranks and moved to the island of Atarashii Momo and started living in an apartment in Kyōki, where he started work at the newly built Atarashii Momo headquarters in 2028. It was easy for him commute there as he lived right next to Kyōki station on Kyodra-Dōri.

He got promoted to chief in 2030. Unfortunately, in contrast to this success, his apartment in Kyōki burned down during the 2030 wildfire, he wants fortunate to be away, working in the station on a night shift during this disaster, however, his girlfriend was home, sick, she was asleep and unable to get out in time when the formerly standing building toppled, crushing her underneath.

Asahi Suzuki is currently on leave to mourn his deceased partner.

Volodymyr Kartonovich moved to Atarashii Momo in 2024, escaping the war in his home country. He always dreamed of becoming a police officer, so he joined the force in 2028, at only 21 years of age. He bought an apartment in 2028 Square, built to commemorate the tragedy of the 2028 wildfire which burned that area to the ground. He felt at home in this city, as the Soviet-era architecture reminded him of home.

He was assured this would never happen again because of newer safety measures. Unfortunately, in 2030 an extremely aggressive fire ripped through 2028 Square, killing 700 people in that district alone. Miraculously, his apartment building was the only one left standing.

Driving down the Yousei Valley Highway in 2026 she crashed her car into a van, suffering a broken leg. The van rolled off the highway, and into Yousei Lake which flows into the Yousei River.

When the van was retrieved 3 days later, it was found to contain multiple bags of methamphetamine. Multiple of these bags were broken open, empty, as the meth had been carried away with the water. She was suspended for 3 months due to the crash but later awarded for this major drug find.

In the weeks that followed, local residents and fishermen reported strange behaviour from the fish in the Yousei River. It is believed the fish got high from the methamphetamine dissolved I to the water from the accident.

Mayor David Gallagher was born in 1981 in Leitrim. He is an Irish man who moved to Kokoro island as a farmer at the age of 19 in the year 2000. He was looking for a new life, he used the small earnings he made working on a farm to go to college, he studied politics. In 2009 he became an elected official for the Kokoro Island Council. His success did not stop there, in 2024 he was elected as mayor of Kokoro Island. Many thought of him highly and so he was elected for a second term in 2028.

As a former farmer, he always strived to innovate agriculture. In summer of 2030 he signed a deal with Liberty City, they would fund the expansion of Kokoro Island's beef industry, and in return, gain exclusive rights to the export of the product.

The fields were completed in 2030, however a landslide in September of 2030 showed that the construction of this new infrastructure was subpar. An investigation was opened into this issue. It was found that David Gallagher pocketed 500,000 of the ChirpDollars provided by Liberty City.

A separate investigation by the Environmental Protection Agency found that the construction of these fields lead to the deforestation of over 1 hectare of healthy rainforest. The Kokoro Island Council did not get permission from the Environmental Protection Agency to do this, however Mr. Gallagher ignored this and funded the construction project anyway. This is a major offense.

In October of 2030 he was arrested in a dramatic spectacle outside the Kokoro Island Administrative Office. He was charged with embezzlement and breech of environmental protection regulations. He has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Thanks to Lex Ambrose, the head of the EPA, and her tireless efforts to protect the beautiful nature of Kokoro Island.

From Crisis to Prosperity: Unemployment Plummets
When Stickl took office, Liberty City faced an unprecedented unemployment crisis: 50% of the city’s workforce was jobless. Within just one term, Stickl’s aggressive economic policies—including massive infrastructure investments, tax incentives for businesses, and workforce retraining programs—have brought the unemployment rate down to a historic 3%, the lowest in the city’s modern history.

“We refused to accept that half our city was being left behind,” Stickl stated in his victory speech. “Now, Liberty City is working again – for everyone.”

Economists cite Stickl’s Job for All Initiative as the driving force behind this transformation, a comprehensive program that paired unemployed residents with new opportunities in construction, public transit expansion, and the booming tech sector.

Voices from the Streets: What Do Citizens Say?
To get a sense of the city’s mood, the Times interviewed residents across Liberty City:

“He gave me my life back. I was unemployed for two years before I got a city construction job through his Jobs for All program. Stickl delivers, simple as that.” – Marcus Thompson, 39, construction worker from Queensland Heights

“Crime in my neighborhood is finally going down. I actually feel safe walking home at night now, and that’s thanks to the reforms and better policing. He’s tough but fair.” – Elena Rodriguez, 27, small business owner in Brooklyn Heights

But not everyone is impressed:

“Sure, the job numbers look good, but what kind of jobs are these? Low-paying temp work. He talks a big game, but the working class is still struggling.” – Jerome Clark, 51, factory worker in Acter Industrial Park

“He’s way too cozy with the police. What about accountability? What about communities that still feel over-policed? That part hasn’t changed.” – Angela Wu, 33, community activist in Chinatown

“He’s the first mayor in a long time who feels like he actually listens to us. Finally, someone cares about regular people.” – Sarah Jenkins, 45, teacher from Greenfield

These mixed opinions reflect the complexity of Stickl’s tenure – hailed as a reformer by many but criticized by others who want deeper change.

“Hard on Guns”: Mayor Stickl’s Weapon Ban Redefines Liberty City’s Streets
By Anthony Delgado, Senior Staff Writer

Liberty City – In a bold and controversial move, Mayor Imran Khan Stickl has enacted one of the toughest gun control measures in the nation’s history: a sweeping Penal Code amendment that completely prohibits the open and concealed carrying of firearms within city limits, with rare exceptions for law enforcement and licensed security personnel.

The legislation, signed into law last fall, has radically altered the city’s approach to public safety, sparking fierce debate – but also delivering measurable results.

“Enough Was Enough”
“We had reached a breaking point,” Stickl said in a press briefing outside City Hall. “No city that wants to thrive can accept the level of gun violence we faced. This is about saving lives, not politics.”

Prior to the law, Liberty City saw an average of 1,200 gun-related incidents annually. Since its implementation, that number has dropped by nearly 65%, according to the Liberty City Police Department.

Police Commissioner Robert Hughes praised the policy: “For the first time in years, our officers feel like we’re not outgunned on the streets. It’s making our jobs safer – and it’s making Liberty City safer.”

Voices from the Streets
“I used to hear gunshots almost every weekend. Now? It’s quiet. I can let my kids play outside again. That’s priceless.” – Latoya Brown, 34, resident of Brooklyn Heights

“I get it, but I feel like it’s punishing people like me who just want to protect ourselves. Criminals don’t follow laws – so what about us?” – Carlos Vega, 52, shop owner in Chinatown

“It’s about time. We’ve needed this for years. Guns don’t make us free; they make us scared.” – Rebecca Lin, 29, teacher in Downtown

“I had to shut down my gun shop. I lost my livelihood overnight. It’s easy for politicians to make rules when they don’t see who it affects.” – Henry Collins, 48, former gun store owner in Downtown

Results Speak Volumes
While critics argue the ban infringes on personal freedoms and has economically hurt certain businesses, data supports its effectiveness:

Gun-related homicides are down 70%.

Armed robbery incidents have dropped by 55%.

Police confiscations of illegal firearms have increased by 40%, suggesting aggressive enforcement.

Mayor Stickl remains resolute: “Liberty City is proving that strong communities don’t need to live in fear of the next bullet. This is about building a future where safety isn’t optional – it’s guaranteed.”

A City Divided – But Safer
The new Penal Code has clearly made Liberty City safer, but at the cost of dividing public opinion. Whether this bold policy becomes a national model or a cautionary tale remains to be seen.

Sheriff’s Deputy Denies Controversial Remarks in Meeting with Mayor Stickl

By Laura Pritchard, Staff Writer

Liberty City – A sudden political stir erupted yesterday when Sheriff’s Deputy Nichole Kingsley was alleged to have made highly critical remarks about Mayor Imran Khan Stickl’s administration and claimed she wished to leave Liberty City entirely.

The comments, which originated from an anonymous source, quickly spread through social media, prompting public outcry and political speculation.

In an emergency meeting at City Hall, Deputy Kingsley personally addressed Mayor Stickl to deny the allegations. “I want to be absolutely clear,” Kingsley reportedly told the Mayor. “I did not say those things. I did not say I want to leave this city, nor did I call your policies ‘terrible.’ These claims are false.”

The meeting, which lasted nearly an hour, was described by insiders as “serious but cordial.” Mayor Stickl thanked Kingsley for coming forward: “Deputy Kingsley is a valued member of our law enforcement community, and I appreciate her willingness to clarify this matter directly.”
The Origin of the Allegations

The controversial comments surfaced earlier this week in a viral post on the Liberty City message board for Atarashii Momo, which claimed Kingsley had voiced frustration with the Mayor’s recent policies, particularly his hardline gun control measures, and had expressed a desire to “move back home.”

While the post has since been removed, screenshots continue to circulate, fueling online debate.
Community Reaction

Opinions remain divided:

“Sounds like someone’s trying to stir up drama. I don’t believe for a second she said that,” said LCSO Sergeant Michael Reeves.

“Even if she did say it, that’s her right. We all know the Mayor’s policies are controversial,” commented Alicia Harper, a Brooklyn Heights resident.
Mayor’s Office Response

The Mayor’s office released a statement following the meeting:
“Deputy Kingsley has reaffirmed her commitment to Liberty City and her support for the administration’s vision. We consider the matter closed.”

Whether the controversy will die down remains to be seen, but for now, Deputy Kingsley continues her service, and Mayor Stickl appears determined to move past the incident.

Mayor Stickl Visits Sheriff’s Office Amid Legal Turmoil, Pledges Full Support for Deputy Kingsley

By Laura Pritchard, Staff Writer

Liberty City – Weeks after a scandal involving Deputy Nichole Kingsley ignited political tensions and speculation, Mayor Imran Khan Stickl made a high-profile visit to the Liberty City Sheriff’s Office to meet with Sheriff Henrietta Jackson and her deputies.

The visit comes amid reports that the controversy surrounding alleged comments by Kingsley could escalate into a formal court proceeding, an outcome that has stirred unease within the city’s law enforcement community.

“Deputy Kingsley is not alone in this,” Mayor Stickl declared during the visit. “She has served this city with integrity, and I will do everything in my power to ensure she is supported through these difficult times. The Sheriff’s Office has my unwavering backing.”
A United Front

Sheriff Henrietta Jackson, a seasoned law enforcement leader with over two decades of service, stood beside Stickl as they addressed the media. “This department stands with Deputy Kingsley,” Jackson stated. “We will not allow misinformation or malicious attacks to define her service or our mission.”

Mayor Stickl spent over two hours touring the facility, speaking directly with deputies, including Kingsley, and reaffirming his commitment to strengthen the city’s collaboration with the Sheriff’s Office.

“This is more than politics,” Stickl said. “It’s about standing by those who dedicate their lives to public safety.”
Community Reactions

The Mayor’s visit has sparked varied responses:

“It’s good to see him taking this seriously and backing our deputies. That’s leadership,” said Marcus Johnson, a senior deputy at the Sheriff’s Office.

“It feels like political theater to me. He’s trying to control the narrative,” commented Sandra Lewis, a civic activist in Brooklyn Heights.

Despite the mixed views, the visit has strengthened morale among Sheriff’s deputies, many of whom described it as a “much-needed show of solidarity.”

Next Steps: As the possibility of legal proceedings looms, Mayor Stickl has promised to allocate city resources for legal support and to ensure that Kingsley receives due process.

Defamation Case Dropped, But Minister Calls for Officer's Citizenship to Be Revoked

A defamation case filed by national broadcaster MTRB against police officer Shirley Kingsley was abruptly dropped just one day after being filed. Kingsley, now residing in Liberty City, USA, was accused of making damaging statements about MTRB in a recent interview.

However, the case's withdrawal on April 16 was quickly overshadowed by a dramatic new development: Foreign Minister Bashira Miyamoto publicly called for Kingsley’s citizenship to be revoked, stating she had “crossed the line” and brought “harm to national institutions.”

The Minister’s remarks triggered backlash—especially after an independent Liberty City journalist, Marnie Lake, uncovered potential conflicts of interest.

According to Lake’s investigation:

MTRB’s CEO is Miyamoto’s son.

The CEO’s wife is MTRB’s head journalist.

Miyamoto’s wife is a member of Parliament.

His daughter is CEO of Momo Water, a major state-owned utility.

Lake questioned whether this points to a case of nepotism, with key institutions tied to a single political family. Legal experts now wonder if the lawsuit and citizenship threat were politically driven.

Civil rights groups have condemned Miyamoto’s statement, while the Momo Bar Association urged the government to act “with restraint.” Kingsley has not commented publicly but is reportedly seeking legal advice in the U.S.

The Foreign Ministry has declined to respond to inquiries.

Liberty City Sends Diplomats to Atarashii-Momo After Minister’s Threat to Revoke Officer’s Citizenship

By Sarah Martinez, Political Correspondent

Liberty City – Tensions between Liberty City and the Republic of Atarashii-Momo are escalating after Foreign Minister Bashira Miyamoto publicly called for Deputy Nichole Kingsley’s citizenship to be revoked.

The statement, which followed the abrupt withdrawal of a defamation case filed by state broadcaster MTRB against Kingsley, has been met with outrage in Liberty City, prompting Mayor Imran Khan Stickl to dispatch a diplomatic delegation to Atarashii-Momo.

“The treatment of Deputy Kingsley is unacceptable,” Mayor Stickl said at a press briefing. “We will not stand idly by while a valued officer of Liberty City is subjected to political retaliation. Our diplomats will work to ensure her rights and dignity are respected.”
The Scandal in Atarashii-Momo

The situation took a dramatic turn after The Momo Independent revealed potential conflicts of interest involving Minister Miyamoto:

The MTRB CEO is Miyamoto’s son.

The CEO’s wife serves as MTRB’s head journalist.

Miyamoto’s wife is a member of Parliament.

His daughter heads Momo Water, a state-owned utility.

Journalist Marnie Lake, who uncovered these connections, described the network as “an alarming concentration of power within a single family.”

Civil rights organizations in Atarashii-Momo have condemned the Minister’s call for citizenship revocation as “authoritarian overreach.”
Diplomacy in Motion

Mayor Stickl confirmed that the delegation, led by Deputy Mayor Rachel Dunn and Liberty City’s Special Envoy for International Relations, departed for Atarashii-Momo this weekend. Their mission: de-escalate tensions, protect Kingsley’s rights, and demand assurances that no further actions will be taken against her.

“We are standing by our Deputy,” said Dunn. “This is about defending the rights of a Liberty City resident against politically motivated harassment.”
What’s Next?

Legal experts in Liberty City suggest that if Miyamoto’s threats materialize, the case could reach the U.S. State Department, potentially transforming the conflict into a bilateral diplomatic dispute.

Meanwhile, Kingsley has remained silent publicly but is reportedly working closely with Liberty City legal advisors.

Analysis:
This case now extends beyond one officer—it has become a test of Liberty City’s commitment to protecting its citizens abroad and could redefine its relationship with Atarashii-Momo.

Investigation Finds “Unethical” Nepotism in Miyamoto Family Ties

Atarashii-Momo – A month-long investigation by the Parliamentary Oversight Committee has concluded that while Foreign Minister Bashira Miyamoto’s family holds a concerning number of high-ranking positions, no laws were violated.

The probe, launched after international backlash to Miyamoto’s call to revoke Deputy Nichole Kingsley’s citizenship, confirmed the following:

MTRB CEO Hiroshi Miyamoto is the Minister’s son.

MTRB’s head journalist is Hiroshi’s wife.

The Minister’s wife, Mariko Miyamoto, is an MP.

Their daughter, Akiko Miyamoto, runs Momo Water, a state utility.

The report calls the situation “ethically troubling” and warns that this concentration of influence “undermines public confidence.” However, due to a lack of anti-nepotism laws, no formal penalties will be issued.

Prime Minister Niko Perkele commented:

“We must confront the reality that our systems can allow power to pool within families. This is not illegal, but it is not healthy for our democracy.”

Perkele voiced support for reforms, including a proposed Public Ethics and Anti-Nepotism Bill, expected to be debated in June.

Civil society groups are calling for urgent action, while Miyamoto maintains his family members earned their roles on merit.

“I remain committed to public service,” he said in a written statement.

Meanwhile, Liberty City officials have not yet responded publicly to the report, but observers say the diplomatic tension sparked by Kingsley’s case has exposed deeper governance flaws in Atarashii-Momo.

The question now is whether Parliament will act—or if entrenched power will remain untouched.

Mayor Stickl Welcomes Findings in Miyamoto Probe, But Says “Emotional Damage” to Deputy Kingsley Remains

By Sarah Martinez, Political Correspondent

Liberty City – After weeks of diplomatic tension, Mayor Imran Khan Stickl has responded to the findings of the Parliamentary Oversight Committee in Atarashii-Momo, which concluded that Foreign Minister Bashira Miyamoto’s family connections across key national institutions were “ethically troubling” but not illegal.

Speaking at a press conference outside City Hall, Mayor Stickl praised the investigation for “bringing much-needed transparency to a troubling situation” but emphasized that the damage caused to Deputy Nichole Kingsley cannot be undone so easily.

“Deputy Kingsley was subjected to public humiliation, targeted by political retaliation, and threatened with the revocation of her citizenship,” Stickl said. “While this report clears her of any wrongdoing and validates the concerns we raised about nepotism in Atarashii-Momo, the emotional harm she endured remains very real. This chapter cannot simply be closed.”
Sheriff Jackson: “Our Deputy Deserves More Than Silence”

Sheriff Henrietta Jackson also issued a statement, underscoring that while she welcomed the findings of the committee, Kingsley had been “dragged through an unnecessary ordeal.”

“Deputy Kingsley has served Liberty City with honor. No report can erase the emotional toll of being vilified on the international stage,” Jackson said. “She deserves more than silence — she deserves an apology and a commitment that this will never happen again.”
Calls for Broader Change

Mayor Stickl used the opportunity to urge Prime Minister Niko Perkele to follow through on his pledge to introduce the Public Ethics and Anti-Nepotism Bill, saying:
“The Parliamentary report confirms what we all saw — an unhealthy concentration of power that damaged public trust. This cannot end with a report. Structural reforms are needed to prevent this from happening again, not just to Deputy Kingsley, but to anyone caught in the crossfire of political families protecting their interests.”
What’s Next for Deputy Kingsley?

Deputy Kingsley has remained largely out of the public eye since the investigation began but is reportedly receiving support from the city and counseling services provided through the Sheriff’s Office.

“We will continue to support her in every way possible,” Stickl reiterated. “Our Deputy deserves closure and the reassurance that her service to Liberty City is valued.”

Analysis:
While the Parliamentary Oversight Committee’s report in Atarashii-Momo sheds light on deep-rooted governance issues, Liberty City leaders remain focused on securing justice for Deputy Kingsley and ensuring that this episode serves as a turning point for ethical reform abroad.

Foreign Minister Bashira Miyamoto Resigns Amid Nepotism Fallout

Atarashii-Momo – Bashira Miyamoto has officially resigned as Minister of Foreign Relations, just days after a government investigation revealed widespread nepotism within his family’s influence over state institutions.

In a brief statement released this morning, Miyamoto said:

“While I maintain that no laws were broken, I recognize that public trust must come before personal legacy. I still believe however, that the Nichole Kingsley case, was a blatant abuse of power, she manipulated people into forgetting what she said when it bit her the wrong way.”

The resignation follows mounting pressure from civil groups, opposition parties, and Prime Minister Niko Perkele, who last week called for ethical reforms in government hiring practices.

A replacement has not yet been named.

Mayor Stickl Responds to Miyamoto Resignation: “Justice Has Been Served, But His Words Are Still Unacceptable”

By Sarah Martinez, Political Correspondent

Liberty City – Mayor Imran Khan Stickl has issued a firm statement following the resignation of Bashira Miyamoto as Foreign Minister of Atarashii-Momo.

At a press conference at City Hall, Stickl welcomed the development as a “necessary step toward accountability”, but condemned Miyamoto’s parting remarks, in which he again accused Deputy Nichole Kingsley of manipulation.

“Minister Miyamoto’s resignation shows that even those in the highest offices are not above public scrutiny,” Stickl said. “However, his final statement continues to unfairly target Deputy Kingsley, who has already been exonerated by their own Parliamentary investigation. These comments are baseless, damaging, and beneath the dignity of a public servant leaving office.”
Sheriff Jackson: “Enough is Enough”

Sheriff Henrietta Jackson also responded sharply to Miyamoto’s comments:
“Deputy Kingsley has endured months of humiliation and stress because of this politically driven vendetta. Even in stepping down, Miyamoto refuses to let go of his false narrative. Enough is enough — it’s time to leave Deputy Kingsley in peace.”
Support for Kingsley Continues

Mayor Stickl confirmed that the city remains committed to supporting Deputy Kingsley, including legal protections and wellness programs.
“Justice has been served in the sense that this chapter of political overreach has closed,” Stickl said. “But the emotional damage remains. We stand with Deputy Kingsley now more than ever.”
What’s Next?

Observers note that Miyamoto’s resignation could accelerate Prime Minister Niko Perkele’s proposed Public Ethics and Anti-Nepotism Bill, with debate expected to begin in Parliament later this month.

For Liberty City, the priority remains clear: protecting Deputy Kingsley and ensuring this case sets a precedent for defending its residents against politically motivated attacks abroad.

Mayor Stickl Responds to Atarashii-Momo Protests: “Deputy Kingsley Will Not Be Used as a Political Pawn”

By Sarah Martinez, Political Correspondent

Liberty City – In response to reports from the Momo Independent that crowds in Atarashii-Momo are rallying in support of former Foreign Minister Bashira Miyamoto and calling for Deputy Nichole Kingsley’s citizenship to be revoked, Mayor Imran Khan Stickl has issued a strong statement condemning what he described as a “politically motivated campaign to vilify a public servant.”

Speaking from City Hall, Stickl said:
“Deputy Kingsley has done nothing to deserve these attacks. She has served Liberty City honorably and has already been cleared of any wrongdoing. Using her as a scapegoat to score political points is unacceptable. Liberty City stands firmly by her side.”
Sheriff Jackson: “This Has Gone Far Enough”

Sheriff Henrietta Jackson echoed the Mayor’s sentiment, calling the protests “a dangerous escalation that only deepens the wounds caused by this ordeal.”

“Deputy Kingsley has been through months of stress and public humiliation,” Jackson said. “It is time to let her live and serve her community in peace. This has gone far enough.”
City Urges Restraint

Stickl also urged leaders in Atarashii-Momo to “cool the rhetoric and focus on healing public trust” instead of inflaming tensions.

“If the people of Atarashii-Momo want to restore faith in their institutions, targeting an innocent police officer abroad is not the way to do it. We encourage dialogue, not division,” Stickl said.
What’s Next?

Diplomatic observers say Liberty City may consider raising the matter with federal U.S. authorities if threats to Kingsley’s dual citizenship continue, turning the dispute into a larger bilateral issue.

“Deputy Kingsley is under our protection,” Stickl concluded. “Her safety, dignity, and rights are non-negotiable.”

Massive Protest in Against City’s Highway Plan
30 May 2025

The Rockwood City Assembly has voted 43 for and 3 against on the “North-South Urban Corridor (NSUC)” project despite opposition from local civic groups. The NSUC seeks to connect the northern, eastern and southern highway entrances into one highway network that would cut across some of the city’s most historic districts. Secretary of Urban Development David Lee has said that the project is necessary to alleviate traffic and the city government would do its best to maintain the original characteristic of the original community.

Over 300 residents protest against this project on Government Square in front of the City Assembly building wearing lanyards adhering to the National Security Law.

Speaking to Amy Chong, a local urban preservation acitvist she said that the project is backed by the Big Construction and Property development companies such as Samsui and Huarun and the project is opposed to the government’s plan to develop an “international city”

Despite opposition from many residents, some of accepted the government’s plan for them to relocate to a new development close to the city’s downtown known as Linden Hill Garden City which Samsui Properties advertises as the “green city of tomorrow”. The government said that there will be no plans to delay the project and all residents are planned to be moved by July this year.

Mayor Stickl Announces Major Eastern Expansion: New Suburban District “Greenfield” to Join Liberty City

By Laura Pritchard, Staff Writer

Liberty City – In a bold step toward growth, Mayor Imran Khan Stickl has announced the official expansion of Liberty City to the east with the creation of a brand-new district: Greenfield.

The project, unveiled yesterday during a press event at City Hall, aims to provide modern suburban living while addressing the city’s surging housing demand.

“Liberty City is growing — and we must grow with it,” said Stickl. “Greenfield represents our commitment to creating family-friendly neighborhoods with affordable homes, excellent infrastructure, and access to the opportunities our city offers.”
A Vision for Suburban Living

Greenfield is designed as a mostly suburban community, featuring tree-lined streets, single-family homes, local parks, and easy access to the downtown core. The district will also include schools, small shopping centers, and community facilities, ensuring residents don’t need to travel far for daily needs.

Urban planners involved in the project describe Greenfield as a “model district”, blending suburban tranquility with urban connectivity.
Economic and Social Impact

The Mayor emphasized that the expansion will create thousands of new jobs in construction and services while also alleviating pressure on the city’s housing market, where demand has driven prices to record highs.

“Greenfield isn’t just about adding homes,” Stickl explained. “It’s about building a community that reflects the values of Liberty City — inclusivity, sustainability, and opportunity.”
Community Response

Reactions from Liberty City residents have been largely positive:

“We’ve needed more family-focused areas for a long time,” said Maria Lopez, a resident of Downtown. “This sounds like a great place to raise kids.”

Others voiced cautious optimism: “It’s a good idea, but I hope they make sure public transportation reaches Greenfield. Otherwise, it’ll just mean more cars on the road,” commented Darren McGill, a commuter from Brooklyn Heights.
Looking Ahead

Construction on Greenfield is slated to begin later this summer, with the first homes expected to be available by late 2026. City officials confirmed that affordable housing units will be part of the development plan, alongside incentives for small businesses to set up in the district.

“This is about shaping the future of Liberty City,” Stickl concluded. “And Greenfield is just the beginning.”

Revitalisation of City’s Olympic Park

In 199X, the city held the Asian Games and built a massive sports complex on the city’s then outskirts. Since the game, it was left to rot and was riddled with crime. The government had put up proposals to redevelop the region. However, the redevelopment project was halted and abandoned after the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. Since then, there was no major redevelopment project until the proposed NSUC highway project. This new project gave new light to the abandoned sports district and redevelopment began in 2015 led by Huarun Group. The Olympic district now has over 15,000 residents.

The Momo Independent

7th June, 2025

Protests broke out in Atarashii Momo early on the morning of June 6th, protestors demanded the resignation of Bashira Miyamoto's family relations from their positions of power, he himself resigned a days prior. As the day went on, multiple other rallies formed, all demanding different goals. It seems this scandal has unearthed much resentment within the public, who are now lashing out, all at once.

Some of the heated topics are:

  • Blatant nepotism within the government.
  • Embarrassment of the nation on the international media.
  • Unmanaged wildfires which have killed thousands.
  • Corruption of Mayor David, and how long it took for him to be caught.
  • A worsening economy after the financial district was hit by severe flooding.
  • Nichole Kingsley's citizenship revocation.
  • A worsening homelessness crisis.
  • Prime Minister Niko Perkele never showing in public.

As the day went on, more gathered to protest, all with different ideals. Debates were raging on in the crowds, with some fist fights even breaking out.

At around 21:00, a mob of protestors swarmed the police cordon around city hall, overwhelming the officers, and breaking through, they defaced city hall with eggs, and paint. As this was unfolding, another group of protestors did not agree with their actions, quickly rushing to save city hall's walls from their rage.

Much violence took place that night between different groups, with different ideas. Police were overwhelmed and are requesting aid in the form of water cannons from Liberty City to not allow such disastrous events to unfold in the future. Over 30 billion ChirpYen worth of damages is estimated to have been caused.

Akiko Miyamoto has resigned from her CEO position in Momo Water, a state utility. However, her brother and his wife are refusing to leave their media positions. Based on MTRB's coverage of these protests, this has sparked concerns about how they manipulate public opinion.

Liberty City Officials Express Concern Over Unrest in Atarashii-Momo, Offer Support for Crowd Control

By James H. Crawford, International Affairs Editor

Liberty City – Following reports of violent protests and escalating political unrest in Atarashii-Momo, Mayor Imran Khan Stickl and the Liberty City Council have expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation and have offered assistance to local authorities.

The protests, which began on June 6th, have been described as some of the largest and most chaotic demonstrations in the country’s recent history, fueled by anger over government nepotism, economic mismanagement, a homelessness crisis, and the controversial handling of Deputy Nichole Kingsley’s citizenship case.

“What we are witnessing in Atarashii-Momo is the breaking point of years of public frustration,” Mayor Stickl said during a press briefing. “We urge all sides to remain calm, and we stand ready to provide support to prevent further loss of life and destruction.”
Liberty City’s Offer of Aid

According to city officials, Liberty City has been formally asked to provide equipment support, including water cannons for crowd control, to help Atarashii-Momo police handle ongoing unrest.

“We are evaluating the request with our federal partners,” said Police Commissioner Robert Hughes. “Our primary concern is ensuring any assistance helps de-escalate the situation without worsening tensions.”
A Crisis of Governance

Political analysts note that the protests have expanded far beyond anger at the Miyamoto family’s entrenched influence.
“This is no longer just about one family,” said Dr. Linda Alvarez, a political science professor at Liberty State University. “It’s about a population disillusioned by corruption, a failing economy, and poor disaster management.”

The resignation of Akiko Miyamoto from her position as CEO of Momo Water has done little to calm public outrage, with many protesters demanding a complete overhaul of state institutions.
Protecting Liberty City Interests

Mayor Stickl also reaffirmed his commitment to defending Deputy Kingsley, who has become a symbolic figure in the international backlash.
“Deputy Kingsley’s name must not be used to fuel division. Liberty City stands firmly behind her,” he stated.

The Mayor added that his office is closely monitoring the safety of Liberty City citizens and officials currently in Atarashii-Momo.

“This is a pivotal moment for Atarashii-Momo,” Stickl concluded. “We hope to see meaningful reforms emerge from this crisis — for the sake of their democracy and their people.”

Mayor Stickl Praises Success of Liberty City Fire Safety Team in Atarashii-Momo

By Laura Pritchard, International Correspondent

Liberty City – Mayor Imran Khan Stickl has commended the efforts of Liberty City fire safety experts whose recommendations led to the creation of a 1.2 billion ChirpYen National Disaster Response Centre in Atarashii-Momo, a project that proved crucial in managing the devastating October 2030 wildfire in the country’s eastern regions.

“This is what international cooperation looks like at its very best,” Mayor Stickl said at a press conference. “Our advisors worked hand in hand with Atarashii-Momo officials to design a facility capable of coordinating large-scale disaster responses. Seeing it save countless lives during such a catastrophic wildfire shows the value of that partnership.”
A Model for International Collaboration

The centre, completed earlier this year, became the operational hub for firefighting and evacuation efforts during the blaze, which threatened thousands of homes and displaced entire communities. Officials in Atarashii-Momo have credited the facility’s advanced coordination systems and training programs – both heavily influenced by Liberty City’s advisors – with preventing what could have been a far greater tragedy.

“Our team brought decades of experience in urban and rural fire management,” said Fire Chief David Holloway, who oversaw the advisory mission. “It’s deeply gratifying to see those plans put into action when they were needed most.”
Strengthening Global Ties

Sheriff Henrietta Jackson also applauded the success of the collaboration:
“Disasters don’t respect borders. The more we work together internationally, the safer all our communities will be.”

Mayor Stickl indicated that Liberty City intends to expand its disaster advisory programs, offering expertise to other partner cities and nations:
“When we share knowledge and resources, we all become stronger. This is the legacy we want Liberty City to have – a city that not only takes care of its own but helps others prepare for the worst.”

Analysis:
The wildfire response has been hailed as a major win for Atarashii-Momo’s emergency preparedness and a success story for Liberty City’s international engagement, underscoring the importance of cross-border collaboration in the face of growing climate-related disasters.

Unrest Calms as Prime Minister Promises Reform — But Questions Remain

Atarashii-Momo – After four days of widespread unrest, protests across Atarashii-Momo have largely subsided, following a national address from Prime Minister Niko Perkele, who called for unity and pledged sweeping political reform.

“The people have spoken,” Perkele said in a pre-recorded message aired on national channels. “We will enact lasting changes to restore trust in our democracy.”

The Prime Minister promised legislation to limit nepotism in state appointments, independent oversight for public institutions, and new economic aid to address homelessness and disaster recovery. The government also confirmed it has accepted non-lethal crowd control support from Liberty City to prevent future escalation.

Despite the easing of tensions, skepticism remains high. While Akiko Miyamoto resigned from her role at Momo Water, Hiroshi Miyamoto and his wife continue to lead MTRB, raising concerns about media bias and accountability.

“MTRB’s coverage doesn’t reflect what’s really happening,” said protestor Ren Ito. “They spin every story. People are waking up.”

Public anxiety is now shifting from the streets to the government’s ability to deliver. Though Prime Minister Perkele urged calm, many citizens have voiced growing discomfort with a figure they have never seen in person.

“No one knows who Niko Perkele really is,” said one activist. “We've never seen them live. Not a single public appearance. It's eerie.”

Some now speculate whether Perkele is simply a symbolic figurehead or shield for deeper state mechanisms.

For now, the fires in the streets have quieted — but the pressure for real change is far from over. The people of Atarashii-Momo are watching, waiting, and, increasingly, questioning everything.

Mayor Stickl Welcomes Calming of Unrest in Atarashii-Momo but Urges “Transparency and Real Action”

By James H. Crawford, International Affairs Editor

Liberty City – Mayor Imran Khan Stickl has responded to the apparent calming of mass protests in Atarashii-Momo following Prime Minister Niko Perkele’s national address, in which the Prime Minister promised sweeping reforms aimed at tackling nepotism, homelessness, and disaster recovery.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Stickl praised the “bravery of the people of Atarashii-Momo” and welcomed the Prime Minister’s pledges but stressed that “words must be backed by immediate and meaningful action.”

“The people of Atarashii-Momo made their voices heard, and the world was listening,” Stickl said. “Now it’s on their leadership to follow through with reform — not tomorrow, not next year, but now. Liberty City stands ready to assist in building systems that are fair, transparent, and accountable.”
Crowd Control Support Confirmed

The Liberty City government also confirmed that it has provided non-lethal crowd control equipment to assist Atarashii-Momo authorities in preventing further violent clashes.

“We supplied tools meant to protect lives, not endanger them,” said Police Commissioner Robert Hughes, addressing concerns about escalating police powers. “Our hope is to support safe and lawful management of demonstrations while maintaining the right of the people to be heard.”
Lingering Questions

While protests have eased, skepticism remains high — including among Liberty City officials. The Prime Minister’s lack of public appearances has fueled widespread speculation about their role in governance.

“Accountability starts with visibility,” Stickl said when asked about these concerns. “Leaders must be seen, not just heard. The people of Atarashii-Momo deserve to know who is truly leading them.”
Next Steps

Mayor Stickl indicated that Liberty City diplomats will continue monitoring developments closely and maintain dialogue with Atarashii-Momo’s government to ensure promised reforms materialize.

“Calm in the streets is not the same as calm in the hearts of the people,” Stickl added. “The world is watching, and Liberty City will always stand for democracy, accountability, and human dignity.”

Meet Officer Hiroshi Kobayashi – From Atarashii-Momo to Liberty City’s Streets
Born: 1989, Kuroshima Ward, Atarashii-Momo
Joined LCPD: 2020
Current Assignment: Liberty City Police Department – Patrol Bureau, Downtown Precinct

Hiroshi Kobayashi grew up in Kuroshima Ward, a dense and bustling district of Atarashii-Momo, where his father worked as a dock engineer and his mother managed a small family-owned grocery. Inspired by his uncle, who served in the Atarashii-Momo National Police, Hiroshi developed a deep respect for law enforcement at an early age.

However, by the mid-2010s, Hiroshi became disillusioned with the rising corruption scandals in his home country’s public sector. “I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself,” he later said in an interview, “but I also wanted to serve somewhere I could make a real difference without feeling like my work was compromised.”

In 2019, Kobayashi made the life-changing decision to immigrate to Liberty City through an international cultural exchange program, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start. He quickly fell in love with the city’s diversity and energy: “Liberty City felt chaotic, but it also felt free. It gave me purpose again.”

Joining the LCPD
Kobayashi entered the Liberty City Police Academy in early 2020, graduating with top marks in defensive tactics and community engagement. His fluency in multiple languages, including Japanese and English, made him an asset in Liberty City’s increasingly globalized neighborhoods.

He was assigned to the Downtown Precinct, where he has since worked on community outreach initiatives to improve police relations with immigrant communities. Kobayashi is known for his calm demeanor, conflict resolution skills, and willingness to mentor younger officers.

Service Philosophy
Kobayashi describes his work as a bridge between cultures:
“Coming from Atarashii-Momo, I know what it’s like to feel unheard. My job is to make sure everyone in this city — no matter their background — knows they matter.”

Personal Life
Outside the badge, Kobayashi is a dedicated practitioner of kendo and enjoys hosting cultural exchange events at Liberty City community centers. He remains closely connected with friends and family back in Atarashii-Momo, often participating in international forums on policing ethics and reform.

“I came here to make a difference,” Kobayashi says, “and every day on patrol reminds me why I chose Liberty City.”

That's pretty neat

Maybe I'll make a website too, just won't be online of course for anyone to visit like a real one, ain't paying for that

#

I've made a couple websites before lol, just never any working ones

polar plaza
#

He gives me a ZIP to use

barren lion
#

Yeah exactly

#

Might do that too

#

Could be neat

polar plaza
#

It's a bit of trial and error right now though

#

Once it gets more complex

#

Only the 1st version is really usable

#

Any other versions he made is ass

#

It's complicated, surprisingly

#

!Not final!

In a recent interview Prime Minister Niko Perkele has stated that, "I do not believe people should see me, or know who I am, as it would undermine my goal of leading based on merit and results, rather than who I am."

This comment left the interviewer confused. "I'm not sure what Niko Perkele is trying to do, but it is certainly an incredibly unique way to govern," said reporter Lex Candace. "I respect Prime Minister Perkele's devotion to this way of working, but I believe Perkele will be forced to make changes to their strategy, if they want to win the next election in which will happen before 2031."

This is indeed true, as Perkele's support has been quickly wavering, and their anonymity has not helped.

A recent interview questioned Perkele on their qualification to be the prime minister in Japan, they answered, "I love music, my favourite 2025 song is "The Duelist" by Sabaton, a Swedish metal band. The song is about a famous Japanese artist, writer, and skilled swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, it's a great song, everyone should go listen to it." Perkele proceeded to recite all of the song's lyrics and promptly ended the interview, not answering any more questions.
