#Mira's Reach Metropolis

Where should I put a football and american football stadium?
Right here has good highway and waterfront access. You could have a stadium complex with a little quay and storefronts surrounding it.
id probably just not have a highway cutting through downtown 🤷♂️
WIP:
You'd be suprised how common it is. Boston does it better though. basically every american city had a highway bisecting it... kinda going car-centric with my build so it makes sense to have a highway there. My issue is with how I built the connector. 8% grades far from ideal
its common in the US
but not really common in other places
indeed. Im kinda just building for fun. Not particularly inspired to conform strictly to one countries infrastructure style. I just build what intrests me. submerged highways are cool engineering
anyone got suggestions for a static plopable that makes for a good roof?
also, does ctrl C work? skyve says it is broken...
I let the sim run while i went to the movie theater and this is what I come back to
Axium Stadium completed
Built an construction site in its early phases. foundation work is about to start
any detailing suggestions?
planning ahead on subway lines. pink is already established. Blue yet to be constructed
Surface Parking increased. Convention centre and Gaming arena constructed. Lots of shopping/ commercial and high rent apartment complexes surrounding the arena. In many ways, this is the heart of entertainment in Mira's Reach
second construction site. needs more detailing, but dont have time to commit to it. will revisit later. the city is bustling!
the edge of downtown is born:
The Midas Touch Financial District has some fantastic views of the inner city
NYC style
one of the intersections of all time
lets see what this looks like in a month or two
W elevated railroad. Most of the ones in Philly are abandoned, or subway tracks.
I wish you could make outside connections with subway rail. I set up a commuter rail for that exact reason because I had tons of people just walkin along the highway
5 Way interchange built. Since one "lane" terminates in the city, and the submerged highway serves the entire downtown, there is no need to connect them. so, all but 2 directions have dedicated lanes.....
crashing my save though. will need to fix at a later date. cant dedicate much more time to CS:2 this week
the lanes in red were added after I took the screenshot
it seems i had to destroy this to finally get it to not crash my game...
the highway is coming along...
Dedicated highway exit for Axium stadium
an interesting interchange
A highway sized hole in my city
move it shenanagains
interchanges take up so much space
improved this downtown interchange from a previous cloverleaf design
messing around with the Carto mod
this is my road and transit infastructure, needs work... want to expand the subarbs so heavier public transit makes sense though
Nice
decently compact triple stack interchange
Very nice city. are you copying a real city or only inspirations? cuz it looks real wow
Not really. But if you want realism google maps is the place to go. I occasionally use it for inspiration
Just an American style city. Going for a somewhat historic style street grid m that has seen lots of development
cheap land for sale!
Imagine waking up to this view @ Neuville luxury apartments
seems the update has caused an employee crisis lol
Before... after to come later
Did you mean to name it "fields" instead of "feilds"?
Yes, yes I did
above traces out standstill traffic in the city core and greater region
morning rush hour hits wild.... imagine once the suburbs are filled in. currently 20 massive office building are unoccupied since the city just lacks population.... traffic will be wild
my pop peaked near 400,000 and it has dropped to 280,000 as of now.... using realistic workplaces/ housing... I think my settings changed
wow these things actually handle traffic really well
these asset sizes are unholy in size XD
the first supertall has replaced a bankrupt college campus
towers over the adjacent city hall
I think some custom assets can add a good look to the skyline because everything looks really cubic
All in good time; asset editor only just released
some views of Terminal City
double clover leaf to control traffic to Terminal City and the Banking District
5 "cities" in the Miras Reach Metropolis:
Mira's Reach (yellow)
Glasstown (purple)
Faraday City (red)
Terminal City (orange)
Butler City (blue)
are those crosswalks on your interchanges??? 😭
Hell yeah brother 🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’ve seen that and walked on that before, most harrowing experience because people don’t pay attention.
They walk on the highway shoulders excessively anyway... why even bother?
iceflake hockey stadium has replaced butler park! bringing 500 jobs to Butler City
pov the sea of single family homes has begun
quite the view from faraday hills
views from Faraday villa. recently put up for sale for 15mil USD
Downtown is peak
Love it
terminal city skyline has grown!
emerson golfing established south of Faraday City
before and after
still needs some finishing touches but the northern end of the Historic District allowed for modern construction in place of failed industry

thoughts on AI image enhancement? worth it or should I keep my work out of Big AI's hands?
We lost another one boys
AI is slowly corrupting everybody's imagination 😔
I disagree. ive put 100s of hours into detailing this build and actually finishing the city. Its not like I am using AI reference material in my builds. Yes generally people using AI do not put in creative effort but. I dont think its fair to look at a person and say, they use AI and therefore lack the drive to be truly creative. But since this is the sentiment ive seen, I shall refrain
Not necessarily saying it ruined yours
And I love the city itself
One of the best on the server in fact
What I meant to say is that AI is being used on this server more and more, mainly for inspiration or filters, but I worry that it'll get so used that people just start using it to make cities for them
I dont read all that much of the chat on the server. out of curiosity, why do you think the sentiment is against using AI enchanced images? saw a post on the gallery doing enhancement and it got multiple negative reactions
I see. kinda defeats the purpose of the game to me XD
I can see the image generation become trained enough to be used that way
For me, the filter stuff is personal. I know someone, very close family but not going to specify which member, that took pictures and put ai filters on it. Now, he's using those "drawings" to make a book and profit off of it. Sure, we couldn't afford an illustrator, but it's still not cool.
yeah
Because doing that stuff incentivizes the use of AI and non-human methods of art for both profit and general use and that is the complete opposite of what we need to be doing
To be fair to the people who use AI filters though, CS2 graphics kinda suck 😅
So I get why they want different color filters and lighting and such
But to fix that, Iceflake needs to improve the graphics and maybe come out with customizable settings for vibrancy, lighting, and other things
indeed. exspecially with my sim being so intensive, anti analising fails function properly
I hope they do. I think they have a lot of debugging and optimisation to handle
Truth
that is a fair criticism. I think one of the biggest issues is that LLM's and image generation were not trained legally and have abused legal loopholes in fair use laws to do so. Similar things can said about selling content generate by these "AI" comercially. It's just moved too fast for the lawmakers to keep up sadly, they are catching up though slowly
Legality, environmental impact, societal impact, intelligence impact, and dozens of other things
indeed
finished Faraday City's waterfront
love the rocks
my personal favriote addition was the boat launch ramp. certanily put the scale of the boat props into perspective
should anything be changed?
this interchange is causing city wide gridlock. in hopes of saving it, the west side post office and a failing real estate firm were demolished. Plans were drawn up; a post office and real estate firm were demolished. The new on/off ramps have now meen constructed. thoughts? suggestions? what whoul I put in the empty lot north of the interchange?
roundabout!!!
murica!!
Faraday City metro area: 50,000 pops
You should add some more greenery in that small shore park, bushes rocks, food stalls, benches or gazebos
hows that?
much much better, if you also add small rocks and bushes it will be perfect
this interchangte needs to be redone.
thoughts on this proposed solution? green would be submerged
looks good
why is the tram going through the roundabout?
It was a temporary fix to try and improve traffic flow over the previous design (which was just a standard intersection). It wasn't permanent or meant to be pretty lol. It was bottlenecking massive swaths of my highways system
This design has since been implemented for the most part. Just never sent an update image
