What in particular? Is ur city American or European style
A bus for local transport, a trolley for semi local, and a subway would definitely do well here.
Brazilian style...
Like Sao Paulo
So american so grids and stuff like that
Bus connecting near places
Monorail or trams for small distances
Metro for médium dist.
Train for inter district?
Sure
Bus as backbone of your systems, u should pretty much rely on that, then metros especially in downtown.
Ngl if ur goal is to build a realistic city then i would to this:
Buses for pretty much everything (especially metrobus for connecting suburbs with downtown)
Then metro for the downtown and core area, maybe a ring line, nothing too fancy or difficult, a simple but efficient metro network.
Finally train… now for this i’d use them only in two occasions, first create a central station, here trains from other cities come then create a few (max. 3) suburban railways that connect outher suburbs (or other smaller cities/villages) but always make them end at the central station, all of 3
Pretty much, yeah. I'd suggest trains for commuter lines. And I'd definitely suggest branch lines out to rural areas, as that significantly cuts back on traffic.
Like japanese rural lines?
With DH2
Kinda, yeah. Maybe don't have them connect to a central station though, and instead have them connect to the closest mainline station.
Yes
Rural > suburb > central?
Here in Rio de Janeiro, doesn't exist train out of capital region
Like central station and suburb
Yep.
