I think it isn't implemented because the trains run on third rail, the entirety of the track must be electrified
And the one you are saying that might have level crossing might be OHLE electrification, not third rail
That doesn’t stop it having level crossings, you can still have them as the subway trains have multiple pick ups along its length so it is able to have a gap in the third rail in short periods

there should be a choice for metro between third rail and overhead wires
Yeah that would be good, suppose that comes back to the point of combined networks with trams being able to go on train tracks as well
I really don't want to see that, do you really mean tram and trains sharing all the tracks
I could see trams on tracks very similar to trains, but not the two vehicles sharing the tracks
(trams are slow)
Many cities have tram trains and they aren’t that slow
Also just because a feature it added you don’t have to use it
