What the title says

It's even worse when buildings are abandoned and no icon shows on top of them.

Maybe abandoned as in moved to another home? Just because you do not hate your home, doesn't mean you won't move to a bigger one with a spouse or move closer to your job, or finish education and leave the low income housing for a nice bigger appartment juse because you can.

Abandonment Logic needs to be reworked

@small dawn why did you change the topic title? That is my specific suggestion

You can edit your first message with your old title "If The Overall Number Value Is Positive, Abandonment Should Not Occur"

If The Overall Number Value Is Positive, Abandonment Should Not Occur

With all due respect, I want the title to be specific on my suggestion. If people don't like it they don't like it. That's fine

It is not about the people
Do you want to post suggestions just to post suggestions or to make the game better? It was done so that if/when anyone from the dev team looks at one thread, they can get ideas from everything regarding this particular topic

I would like my suggestion to be specific lol. You are more then free to do this yourself

Yea but that’s not how the game works I don’t think

are you sure?`As far as I know rent is shared onto all households and then between residents of the households

I think the real issue here is there are no mechanics to actually show why a building was abandoned

I got an even worse example of how abandoning makes no sense to me:

stone dome
#

I had one where every number was green but the building still went abandoned

Right and nonresidential there is no data why it's abandoned at all

stone dome
#

No its because currently the only info is the happiness rating of the last tenant buisness don't have happiness ratings

it's high density ofc the homes are small, that's out of my control

Which is why low rent housing only really works beside education buildings and rural industry (because dense industry increases land value around it, due to walkablility to jobs)

#

but let's be honest, that is realistic. You won't find affordable low rent homes in the city center

true, but as someone living 500m from his work, I get why it's attractive. Maybe industry, commercial and offices should increase landvalue around them, but not in the direct vicinity (except for offices), because of pollutions of all kind (noise, ground and air)

#

as well as generated traffic of course

so it is actually quite realistic? I noticed not only does the land value rise the more industry is build close to each other, but also the roadmarking for "zone suitability" shrinks in the very high value center of the industrial park. Probably because industry is probably paying quite high rent being surrounded by other industry and getting basicly no transport cost of goods from and to other companies there
