I'll use this thread to upload any screenshots and show any updates of my city (I've included some of my favourite screenshots for this starting message)

Spent a few hours this afternoon working on the rail infrastructure around Vinci Hill and Gove Hill (inspired by Herne Hill and Tulse Hill respectively). Of course, its completely undetailed at the moment

Just came across your screenshots, I've also been building London but it's a more exact replication of the actual city

I thought the first image was from google earth at first...

No idea how much more to build since the savegame is lowkey laggy

Been working on the area just south of Vinci Hill (the start of Croxted Road), I'm pretty happy with how its turning out

did you get the 22 bishopsgate asset off the workshop or did you make it yourself

Loving building this area at the moment, lots of trees and greenery, with the Exhibition Park and Chatswood radio towers in the background

Spend a couple of hours this morning detailing the northbound tracks heading into Afleden Bridge Station. I'm pretty happy with how its turning out πŸ˜„

#

I like the detail!

#

Seems quite clean for a busy station in the UK though

Been working on the main concourse/entrance of Afleden Bridge Station today, redoing the clipped buildings into an actual open concourse

Some more screenshots of Afleden Bridge Station.

# junior oak How’d you create the station?

The platforms are station track networks from the railway collection, with platform networks (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1920747629) and shelter networks (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2105375780) added using network multitool's parallel feature, and the shelter networks stretched with node controller.
For the station building/concourse itself, I used PO on this station (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=589761657) for the canopy, with POed pillars for the borders. The glass is just some glass asset, can't remember what exactly, again POed to fit.
This concrete slab (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=589761657) is also super useful for the floors/walls/pillars etc, and really nice to just deform in PO. If you want more detail, or just for a specific part, just let me know πŸ˜„
Oh, and the viaduct/arches on the sides is this asset (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2789372357)

I've been working on Afleden Bridge Station for the past month or so for Gaseous Stranger's discord competition (I've posted screenshots in #cs1-gallery), but now that that's over, I've been back to working on the Exhibition Park to Afleden Bridge line. Started work on West Chatswood today

Wait wheres this competition

It's been a while (I've been kinda busy and trying to sort out graphics settings with render it etc to replace ultimate eyecandy), but I'm finally back working on Afleden. Here's a plan view of the railway junction I've been working on (based on the approach into London Bridge by Millwall). And I've also added the walkie talkie building to make it a bit more obviously London-inspired

The rail infrastructure took so long, it involved lots of nodeless single 1-way tracks merging with double 2-way track, and the real-life area I'm taking inspiration from is pretty complicated

#

Here's a few screenshots, I'm pretty happy with the views πŸ˜„

Woah dude this is crazy cool and I actually just started a London inspired build recently

#

I would say I'm pretty good at the game heavily modded but there's a lot I would love to talk to you about and ask you

Where Is some lu 1995 or 1996 or S7 Stock

#

Or lu 1973 And 2009 And Central line train

obsidian frost
# hearty spear Where Is some lu 1995 or 1996 or S7 Stock

I live in south london, so I'm mainly focusing south of the river, so there's not much to build (yet) in terms of London Underground. I've got s-stock and 1996 stock trains downloaded from the workshop for when I build areas I'll need them for though

Oh right and good morning

obsidian frost
# pastel oar what assets are you using to make it functional?

I used station track from the RAILWAY collection (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1574858399 I used this one, but any of the tracks from the collection should have station track) (it has to be ground mode, and then raised with move it). Then, I connected it with a path (start it in the centre of the station track at 0m height, then drag it away and have it raised. Then drag it elevated to the road you're connecting it to, and lower it to 0m again so it connects). Then, I upgraded the path to an invisible path (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2040776504)

I also used these decorative platform networks (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1920747629) with network multitool's parallel feature, but this isn't necessary for functionality. Hope that helps

More progress on the Bermondsey Dive-under. I still gotta detail a bit tho (although the game now takes 30 mins to load and 5 mins to save...)

If you wanna be detail heavy add some caging / chain link fencing in those arches and add abit of graffitit

are you still making this

obsidian frost
# azure vale are you still making this

Nah, I'm taking a break, at least for a while. I've just started another city, I'll post some screenshots soon in a new post.
The first reason is that the framerate and loading times are just not very fun
The second reason is that while it's great to build something with proper scale, I'm wanting to do something with a bit more creativity and scaled-down to make it feel like I'm achieving more with what I build.
